Invocation Point Buy
Invocation Point Buy is part of the Proficiency System. Its packs do not contain any Abilities, rather they are Talents. Talents provide somewhat broad descriptions of out-of-combat things a Character can do that have a vaguely or explicit magical feel to them. Talents only have broad descriptions so Players can creatively fill in the details, while expecting a level of self-moderation to ensure the roleplay is engaging and fun for everyone involved. Invocation Point Buy relates specifically to Talents manifested through Religion, ergo they are Point-Bought with the Faith Proficiency. It is absolutely required that a Character who Point-Buys these Packs, is religious, so that these Talents can be granted by their God(s). There is no upper limit of Packs that can be Point Bought from this Category. All Invocation Packs also come included with the Script Invocation Pack for free, which can be found at the very bottom of the Page, meaning so long as any Invocation Pack is Point-Bought, that one is automatically included also for free. The pairing/associations of particular religions are not required, but heavy recommendations, because a Void Worshiper using Hallow Incantations looks very off-brand. Point Buying any of these packs does not make a Character Occult, unless they already are.
Element Invocation Pack
The Element Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Old Gods, Asaredu, Estelsoor, and Sarna. The Element Invocation Pack grants the Element Talent, meaning a Character has out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) control over the elements of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth, with some overlap between them like Air and Water making Ice, and Earth and Fire making Magma. This includes but is not limited to color, size, summoning, banishing, moving, shaping, harm immunity, applying these elements on themselves, etc. How skilled or how large elemental control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions. Think of this Pack as non-Combat Elemental Magic, that allows a character to do great feats like summoning a wall of fire, or causing a river to part so that it can be crossed on foot.
Hallow Invocation Pack
The Hallow Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Unionism, Emended Unionism, Evintarian Unionism, and The Gilded Order. The Hallow Invocation Pack grants the Hallow Talent, meaning a character has out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) control over Gold, Silver, and Bronze, and all variance depictions of these elements both in material and immaterial form. This includes but is not limited to summoning, banishing, moving, shaping, glowing, radiating, etc. How skilled or how large Hallow control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions. Think of this Pack as non-Combat Holy Magic, that allows a character to do great feats like shining a bright beacon seen from miles away, manifest halo’s and golden glowing symbols, or call down sunlight from the heavens.
Arcane Invocation Pack
The Arcane Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Estellon, and Void Worship. The Arcane Invocation Pack grants the Arcane Talent, which grants out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) telekinesis and magical automation to the Character. This includes but is not limited to levitating items through the air, automating certain motions on objects, remotely controlling objects and devices and even people’s movement. It can however further also affect gravity, slow down time, or create magical holographic displays. How skilled or how large Arcane control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions.
Nature Invocation Pack
The Nature Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Estellon, and Old Gods. The Nature Invocation Pack grants the Nature Talent, which grants out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) control over plant, flower, and tree matter. This includes but is not limited to making plants rapidly flow, grafting entirely new plant species, used to create a perfect growing environment inside houses, and creating new effects from plant species that can even interact with other conditions (like suppressing Markenism, but never Afflictions like Vampirism). How skilled or how large Nature control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions.
Body Invocation Pack
The Body Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Old Gods, Void Worship, The Blood Covenant, and Dragon Worship. The Body Invocation Pack grants the Body Talent, which grants out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) non-Disguise shapeshifting, though only within the Racial category. This allows the Character to change visual features such as (top and body)hair color, amount, skin (texture and color), eye color (while not Afflicted), additional non-combat used limbs, body shape, body size, etc. It can however also affect inner aesthetics, like the color of blood, or organ function like resistance to alcohol (but not against harmful substances), but even slowing down visual aging (not extending lifespan but looking forever young). How skilled or how large Arcane control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions.
Death Invocation Pack
The Death Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Ordial Cultism, and Asaredu. The Death Invocation Pack grants the Death Talent, which grants out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) necromancer-like control over the dead. This includes but is not limited to summoning ancestral spirits, animating collections of bones, creating ghostly apparitions, or putting such apparitions and poltergeists to rest by sending them on to the afterlife. Think of this Pack as non-Combat necromancy, but also its less-evil-appearing cousin ancestral spirit shamanism. How skilled or how large Death control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions.
Tech Invocation Pack
The Tech Invocation Pack is commonly paired with the religions Esra, and Baskarr. The Tech Invocation Pack grants the Tech Talent, which grants out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) telekinetic control over technology and machinery. This includes but is not limited to levitating machinery and (dis)assembling it with the mind, steering mechanical objects from a distance, and a spiritual deeper connection with lifeless technology. Think of this Pack as making a Character a Tech-priest, using technology to enhance their religious beliefs or expressions. How skilled or how large Tech control is for the Character is up to the Player. Mentioning this Pack on Progression Orders may also unlock unique interactions.
Script Invocation Pack
The Script Invocation Pack is a Free Pack that is automatically included when any Invocation Pack is Point-Bought, but it is also mentioned separately here for referral. The Script Invocation Pack grants the Script Talent, which grants out-of-combat (and in-combat aesthetic) control over literature, both written down letters, as well as conjuring magical letters in the air, or as normal or glowing tattoos on a person. How skilled or how large Script control is for the Character is up to the Player. This Pack has no value in Progressions.
