Daendroc, straddling the middle portion of the continent of Daen, is quite possibly the most contentious land in Aloria. Divided between an uncountable number of different Races and political entities, it has long been a hotbed of conflict, from its days as an unstable portion of the Allorn Empire to its modern existence as a focal point of conflict between the Plainsfolk, Altalar, and Ailor. A sweeping land of open plains that gives way to warm plantation fields and rocky coastlines, Daendroc is incredibly diverse, and boasts millennia of history. Playing host to the world’s premier vacation places and its hotspots of ethnic tension alike, there will likely never be a shortage of reasons to study the geography of Daendroc.

History

Daendroc was a focal point for fighting long before the modern era. It is known that the region was a part of the Dewamenet civilization of the ancient Asha, who began to come into conflict with the Altalar as they ethnically expanded. With the lengthy war between those two powers, it changed hands and came into the possession of the Allorn Empire, where it was ruled for thousands years as a series of provinces. Its history diverges from more southerly parts of Daen during the Cataclysm and Wildering, where it fared especially badly. The Asha population, which had been taken as chattel, broke away and fled to the Ashal Isles, while those who had settled in the large central plains, becoming Avanthar and Cielothar, also seceded and made their own authorities. As infrastructure was destroyed and Allorn authority hopelessly splintered, the Ailor population then rose up in turn and took control of most if not all of the Altalar land left, excepting several barren princedoms and the Northern Altalar Kingdoms, which held on until Regalia’s conquest of the region.

An Eronidas population also arrived in this general time period, settling the smaller of the two Eronidas collectives, the Staat Ois Teras. As the years passed forward and Regalia occupied the region, the conflict shifted to become ethnic tension on the borders with the surviving Altalar states, as well as distinction between Regalian and Eronidas expansionist ambitions and the defensive mindset of the locals, alongside Altalar and Avanthar infighting. What the Ranger Crisis and Elven War of 302 saw was Regalian dominance be asserted, and reinforced in 305 with the Regalian destruction of the Avanthar Royal Encampment, but the borders have begun to stir and bristle again with the reborn Allorn Empire’s expansion into the region.


Geography

Daendroc straddles the middle portion of the supercontinent of Daen, which is why it has inherited its name. It possesses an ethnic multiplicity of Asha, Ailor, Eronidas, Cielothar, Avanthar, Altalar, Kathar infiltrants, Maraya in the slums of Daenshore, and practically anything that can be dreamt up. This makes it, next to the capital of the Regalian Empire, the second most diverse region in the world. Toward its interior is the last part of the Ularen Plains that predominantly reside in Hyarroc, but arguably the more important part, as it contains the smoldering wreck of the former Royal Encampment from which the Avanthar once governed themselves. This shares much in the way of characteristics with the regions to its south. In fact, it could be argued that qualifying the open steppe and grasslands as part of Daendroc instead of splitting both this portion and the Hyarroc portion off into their own region could be argued as a mutual Altalar-Ailor historical construct to keep the Plainsfolk within their de jure realms and make reclamation campaigns inherently legitimized as part of restoring old borders. However, once the steppe is exited and the border marshes of the Lesarra states are passed through, the ecosystem and landscape radically change. The temperature is significantly warmer in Daendroque lands; the grass is yellower and less moist, and the summers last longer and are more severe. While this land is also flat, and there is technically nothing parting the Steppe between the center of the continent and Daenshore itself, as clearly shown by the historical success of Avanthar raids, the shifts in ecology and weather are enough to begin clearly defining a different region, that begins in Frontierra and ends at the coast. Frontierra itself, once having been the Altalar Talant Dassaal and still having an Altalar population, boasts more ruins than the surrounding areas, most of which saw locals stripping the old Allorn towers bare for building materials following their violent emancipation.

The west of Daendroc, rather the Eronidas states and their approach in Talant Malhã Enlë, are mountainous, more like the coastline of Hyarroc which they are adjacent to. However in the north, on the approaches to Ithania, the landscape changes again. There the former Northern Altalar Kingdoms in the form of Thellassia and Minaal sit as parts of the Regalian Empire. The weather softens up, turning gentler and cooler, and rivers become generally more lush and flood wider. This is similar to the other side of Daendroc, and its very southeast region on the border with Teled Methen, which is dominated by the floodbanks of large river deltas which make the states there almost impossible except by way of successive land bridges. Most of Daendroc is rather dry, with biting weather during the summer and rainfall only improving during the colder months. The Wildering is said to have somewhat disrupted the natural ecosystem, which was once more lush and provided for many more plantations and farms than it currently does.

Notable Flora

Like many other regions of Daen, Daendroc shares most of its flora with Teled Methen, which was spread north by the marching path of Altalar colonization. However, it has some more unique plants, from the Lorwick Thistle which grows through the various Ailor cities of the eastern coastline, to the Poppy that is the backbone of the regional economy. Indeed, the powerful Noble House Anahera controls the poppy and therefore the opium industry in Daen, making the Daendroque Ailor regions which they rule positively covered in opium plantations. Another cash crop which helps keep Daendroc afloat is Tabacca, popularized in the Regalian Empire by the former Emperor Cedromar, but always a staple of gentlemens’ clubs and other refined and military institutions. The forests, as lands to the south, are filled with Allú’tornë and Areü’lleí-oná trees which generally dominate the Daen landscape. These forests are nowadays less thick than they once were, not because of the Wildering which in fact vastly increased their size, but because of Ailor logging efforts which push back the boundary of the brush into the Ularen Plains. These logging efforts have been a focal point of conflict between Ailor and Plainsfolk, with the first Avanthar retaliatory raids that led to the current enmity beginning because of them. While they will likely not leave any major effect on the regional landscape, they remain something that especially Yanar heavily fight back against, because it represents the destruction of their traditional home, no matter on what scale.

Notable Fauna

Daendroc has a number of wild animals, from the famous Ularen Lion which dwells on the Plains, to those that more commonly dwell in the jungle, which include Jungle Veneerions, a type of plant-eating bat, as well as Elven Longears, Great Jungle Cats, and a number of other carnivorous felines that more often than not are the apex predators of the canopy. On the plains, the Aaltaar Bok and Bathogg can be found, often the targets of large prides of Ularen Lions on the hunt. Unlike the Lion however, these animals can sometimes be found domesticated, especially by the Eronidas who keep large cattle-herds to suit their culinary preference for meat. Above the Daendroque cities in the east coast, Common Gulls and Sea Pidaleers wheel in circles over the docks and peck at passersby, while Daendroc Weasels and Green Lizards skitter underfoot, mingling among rubbish piles and half-ruined houses where they have carved out a comfortable home of their own. Daendroc enjoys unique marine life as well, from the Air Pocket Whale to the innumerable schools of Barnacle Trout that sometimes run through the rivers in springtime in such thick numbers that a fisherman can dip his hand into the water and pull several out by the tail.

Politics

Allorn Empire

The Allorn Empire’s borderlands lie in Daendroc. While the former Avanthar Royal Encampment used to project power over the area, Daendroc now simply represents a border-region on the edge of Allorn authority, where the fringe lands of their Empire brush up against foreign powers.

Allorn Aligned States

  • Avanth Olmaat, seen as the staunchest and more conservative of all the five existing Avanth. Their territory held the Royal Encampment, and in the wake of its destruction, have only begrudgingly accepted a general superiority of the Regalian Empire. Elsewhere, the Avanth is oddly the only Avanth with only male leadership, at least on the surface. Observers have noted that these leaders are often “advised” by female Elders, likely their mothers, suggesting a rather familiar situation to typical Ailor military officials: that of a male facade over female leadership. Despite this, Avanth Olmaat suffered the most direct chaos of the five during the civil war and its population has largely retreated into isolation, though they still actively trade with regional Cielothar settlements. They are made up of the Shytay, Iöwak, and Tri’syaw Tribes.
  • Ol Lavei Talaië, a forever misty land, hugging against the Talaï Sea. Somehow, Ol Lavei Talaië is always covered in dense fog, all the way to the Talaië mountains that shield the north-western side of the country. This has given rise to many myths of the Talaië fogs, people getting lost within, ancient beings and Void Gods residing in the dusky silence, and strange lights dancing in the distance that herald danger or treasure. Ol Lavei Talaië is also home to the Swamps of the Forgotten, which are boglands covered in corpses of people who became lost, were bogged down in the wetlands, and drowned in mud or shallow waters as they simply could not move. Many of their bodies became mummified in the peat, leading to many corpses re-surfacing that died thousands of years ago. This is a relative treasure trove to any would-be anthropologist who dares braving the deep brume and dangerous creatures within.
  • Sol Irzure, an Altalar city-state that is ruled by Teledden, and once had a number of diaspora minorities, but pushed them out at the rebirth of the Allorn Empire. It has a history of competing with its brother-city Sol Fazais for control of the many trade routes of the region, but losing out because of its more disadvantageous geographical position, and because of its comparative rejection of immigration leading to less ability to project into the power structures of other nations. Sol Irzure is famous for the Alliätha, its raised forum set amidst a rectangle of streaming white-marble fountains, that used to be the meeting-place for the Sols of the greater Talant Dassaal region to journey to and argue politics.
  • Talant Malhã Enlë, a mountainous Fin’ullen border garrison state that separates the Altalar lands from the Eronidas collective beyond. It has little history, having been severely underpopulated for most of the Allorn Empire’s existence due to terrain unfavorable to the picky and luxurious Altalar, but recent years have seen its fortifications, built into the mountains, reinforced further and further against what the locals see as an encroaching Eronidas threat.
  • Ilmaan Principality, one of the two Northern Elven kingdoms to escape Regalian domination. It can be described as a gigantic Tabacca plantation, constructed on flat plains, which grows large quantities of the crop to export north and eastwards to hungry Ailor markets. As ground barely distinct from the Avanthar realms of the open steppe, it should come as no surprise that the Avanthar frequently come thundering into the region demanding tribute. While once these clashes turned violent, in the present day they are more of a tributary relationship, with an understanding between the raiders from Avanth Olmaat and the locals of exactly what should be offered up to avoid a fight, oftentimes gifts of Tabacca and trinkets of Gold.
  • Ol Lavei Ëlem, the second Lesarra state in Daendroc, which is a smattering of library-settlements buried in the ground. The Lesarra here live under the earth, in vaults bored into foothills and rolling landscapes, from which they do not often emerge. Once they had cities, which were destroyed by the Cataclysm, but now they do not return to them simply out of habit, for once a Lesarra establishes a habit, it is hard to dispel it. The formerly austere vault settlements have blossomed into webways full of plantlife, with tunnels dug between each other, which often draw comparisons to Dwarven architecture. The old Teledden lord of Ol Lavei Ëlem has long enjoyed the honorary title of Delver of Caves, for his guidance to his people.
  • Tanaar Süsellaam, similar to the Ilmaan Principality as a grower of Tabacca, but it also has a notable trade and treaty history with the Kingdom of Lusits. It has long enjoyed friendly relations with this state, and a heavy trading partnership, but with the resurgence of the Allorn Empire the local Prince has fallen in line with dictates from Ivaëlle and most of this apparent friendliness has ceased to be presented.
  • Narseth Pallas: Narseth Pallas is the designated Altalar borderland with the Daendroque states under Regalia, who have been known to frequently raid across the boundary as organized militias, especially since the Allorn Empire’s recreation. The former Tanaar Palaïssanth, it is now a glorified military garrison state, where Cielothar windmill villages have been co-opted as places to barrack Fin’ullen from far afield, and most of the local economy has been replaced with functions essential to the military installations.

Regalian Empire

The history of the Regalian Empire in Daendroc is one of conquest and expansion through power projection and military prowess. Besides the Kingdom of Lusits, which was brought into the fold peacefully, all other Regalian realms in Daendroc were initially integrated into the Empire by military force, and eased into a more diplomatic understanding later after they were fully brought into the Imperial hierarchy. Now, it looks to protect its possessions against internal revolt, unrest, degrading finances, and uppity minority populations.

Regalian Aligned States

  • Sol Fazais, an Altalar city-state that is ruled by Teledden, but has a number of diaspora minorities. As a result, this Sollay is independent from any major principalities, and acts more like a middle-ground diplomat between the Ailor-controlled Daen city-states and colonies and the wider Altalar world. The city of Fazais is its capital, where the Fasaëlle family rules, which is also immensely wealthy due to their Himvatheer Road, the only safe road through Avanthar lands to the Tanaar beyond due to treaties between the Fasaëlle and the Avanthar. It is also claimed (but never confirmed) that the Fasaëlle pay the Avanthar under the table for their attacks on Basqlierra and Frontierra, thus making this trade route more attractive to traders and the only valid way to engage in trade with the inland Principalities. Recently, it has sided with Regalia rather than the reborn Allorn state due to the extent of its Regalian trade treaties.
  • Minaal Protectorate, once Tanaar Minaëlle, but fell to the Regalian Empire during the Elven War of 302 AC. It is now formally a protectorate of the Regalian Empire, but is also functionally still a Teledden-led Principality under the Manaï-Lamaal family. While L’Elvellen as well as Andois and Visois suffered a massive decline of Altalar population, most of the refugees fleeing Regalian rule entered Minaal, as the Minaal Prince was permitted to keep his crown, while the other families were replaced by Ithanian rulers. As a result, Minaal is both poor and overpopulated, but is also considered the capital of Altalar resistance against Regalian encroachment, as cyclical rebellions occur in these lands against Regalian rule, somehow always inconspicuously occurring when the ruling family has an alibi or is in Regalia’s capital for state visits and could not possibly have been behind the uprising in their lands.
  • L’Elvellen, one of the most recently created states in Aloria, and the result of the power of the Regalian Empire. Originally, the territory occupied by current L'Elvellen was a Teledden state called Tanaar Tällassa, or Thellassia in Common. For over a century, they had been a great power in the region that Regalia had often dealt with fairly. However, this ended when Regalia invaded them in 302 AC. The military promptly took over and established a military government while bringing in resources and bureaucrats from Ithania to help run the region. In their honor, they allowed the region to possess a D'Ithanie name, and so L'Elvellen was born. Since this inception, the state has been quiet, with most of the Altalar population fleeing to principalities in the south or into pro-Nelfin Ithania in the north and not resisting the mass Ailor migration taking place into the territory. The vast region is overseen by a military governorship, with current districts taking up most of the same territory as the Sollays they replaced. While most Altalar have left, a number of those in poorer conditions or with limited prospects have also stayed, and as previously mentioned, large numbers of Ailor have been migrating to the region from the Regalian Archipelago but also Daendroc and Ithania as well as some of the island areas of Corontium. While the Northern Elven Kingdoms were by no means poor, their full industrial capacity was extremely limited. Under Regalian foremen and planners though, mines now cover the mountains and valued resources are extracted with great speed.
  • Salarian, Andois and Sulèce Duchies, Visois Principality, a cluster of Ithanian-cultured nations separate from their homeland for a variety of reasons. However, the most immediate is each group's rejection of one of the Princois Decelles, which caused their ancestors to be exiled out of the region. Salarian rejects the Altalar as a higher Race, Andois rejects the freedom of Ithanian expression, Visois rejects the Peaceful Principle in support of an active military and Sulèce rejects the idea that one's finances should be used to destroy threats to Ithanian Culture. However, due to decades of trade and relations, many of these original exile reasons have shrunk in significance as full Ithanian values impress themselves upon the locals.
  • Kingdom of Lusits, homeland of the Bragacao and mercantile leader of Daendroc. The region spun away from its Daendroque roots decades ago, and has now grown into a place of major importance for Regalian politics in the area.

  • Frontierra, once a part of the Allorn Empire but has since collapsed into a far less important territory on the world stage. Following the Cataclysm and the Eronidas Invasion of Daen, the region fell into the hand of the Ailor where it has resided ever since. Since its incorporation into the Regalian Empire, the nation has helped provide lumber and Tabacca to Regalia. Due to the recent years of turmoil on the continent however, the nation’s government, consisting of a Regalian appointed governor and a provincial cabinet of ministers, has descended into facing allegations of corruption. Another feature of Frontierra is Justinian’s Wall, a long but straight three-meter high fortification that clearly defines the nation’s boundary with the Ularen Plains beyond.
  • Basqlierra & Mataderra, known as the two River Duchies of Daendroc. The regions ply the large rivers running through their territory and have always played a role in the naval designs of the Daendroque Ailor, but are also seen as positive representations of Daendroque society with minimal criminal elements. However, some insist their humble-appearing fishing boats play key roles as smugglers for surrounding nations. Besides this, they are also well-known for their comparative lack of deficit on the regional budget compared to other Daendroque states, and their small numbers of population, with large Altalar and Plainsfolk minorities.
  • Caslin, one of the most vulnerable states and important areas of Regalia-controlled Daendroc. Formerly ruled by Altalar, the nation fell into the hands of Ailor soon after the Cataclysm and much like others, eventually was made to join the Regalian Empire. Since then, the country has actively cut down their jungles to feed the endless demand for lumber from the Regalian Navy. Their western border, however, is constantly under threat from Avanthar raids, as the plain riders pillage what supplies they cannot get from the Cielothar or their grassy expanses. Additionally, when Daenshore collapsed into chaos in 303 AC, Caslin briefly became the new center for Regalian governance on the continent. The nation is best known for its production of lumber and as the receiving point for 90% of Avanthar exiles from the Avanthar States. These “undesirables” rarely stay long and soon move on to Daenshore or other Ailor territories.
  • Terraverra, the Lusitian frontier with the plains further inland on Daen. As compared to the Daendroque frontier, which is more dry and dotted with plantations, Terraverra closely hugs the major river running through the region and instead of tabacca or opium focuses more on cultivating wheat, as well as Rice and other wet crops that are hard-pressed to grow just about anywhere else in the northern areas of Daen.
  • Cañuz, a state viewed with high importance by the Regalian Navy. The kingdom, much like it’s neighbors, was created after the fall of an Allorn Empire-era princedom fell into Daendroque Ailor hands. As Lusits grew to be an increasingly decadent Culture, Cañuz quickly positioned itself as a major supplier of manpower for that nation’s naval and merchant fleet. When Regalia reached Cañuz following its conquest of Ithania, Cañuz voluntarily joined the Empire, submitting themselves to people they saw who could take them anywhere they wanted. Since then, the royals of Cañuz have been free of Regalian control to rule their nation as they see fit, which they have done for over a century. However, this has become a point of some turmoil within Cañuz in recent years, for many of its younger generation believe that their monarchs gave up a proud heritage on the whim of an overbearing foreign power. An unsettling proportion of Cañuzian youth have been turning to illegal activities, but the state is still able to supply Regalia with new sailors, pressing criminals into naval service rather than imprisonment. As one might expect, the nation has a vibrant maritime culture, and almost all of its settlements are on the coastline.
  • Sol Lucia, frequently given the title of the smallest western state alongside Arvost, though for the Sol Luciaians, this is hardly a headache as they preoccupy themselves with their peaceful lives. Sol Lucia was once part of an Allorn Empire era princedom, but when the Cataclysm hit, the Ailor slaves only managed to take control of half the state. The nation formed a loose democracy but soon grew into a kleptocracy as thievery and trickiness became more prevalent in the national culture. Their nation experienced some turbulent relations with Lusits, Frontierra, and Cañuz as a result. When Regalia reached the western Daendroc states, Sol Lucia was made to submit to the Empire, with their klepto-democracy dismantled soon after, and a provincial government installed in its place. Today, Sol Lucia has kept it’s reputation as a hive for future criminals, despite that the majority of its people are not actually involved in any criminal activity. This perception is unlikely to fade with the Daendroque Ailor population majority followed after by a sizable minority of Asha. Aside from their undeserved unsavory reputation, Sol Lucia possesses many of the best tattoo artists in Aloria, with steady hands and artistic minds that also lend themselves to dagger tricks.
  • Costa Marte, the heartland of the Regalian military complex in Daendroc. Casta Marte was much like its southern neighbor, Costa Daen, a hotbed of liberal ideas and revolution. However, their nation’s natural terrain was and still is highly rocky, but rich with many valuable and common metals. The Regalian Empire’s conquest of the area brought mining to the territory in a way unseen in centuries, and the Daendroque population has largely remained restless as a result of this intense industrialization. However, the “Marte” part of the nation’s name comes not from this, but from the presence of the Regalian Military in their nation. Even more than surrounding territories, Costa Marte is ruled by the military, and the minerals pulled from its rocky terrain is used to make weapons and repairs on the Regalian Navy vessels which frequently drydock themselves to be repaired and then sent on their way, while military detachments heading for inland territories commonly disembark in this region.
  • Costa Daen, often known simply as Daenshore. The heartland of Daendroque Culture and also seen as the root for many regional problems, the territory holds political significance for the Regalian Empire.

  • Hallonq, considered the most criminal and least honest of the Daendroque states, contrasted with its more presentable sister city in the form of Daenshore itself. With origins in strong anti-slavery ideals, Hallonq quickly became a hotbed of early Jacobinist and almost Anarchist ideals, with many ideologues preaching for the abolishment of Noble right and prerogative, and transitions inside the Regalian Empire, coming from Hallonq. This has nuance however, as even though these ideals stand strongly against the Nobility, the residents of Hallonq in even the poorest slums are still predominantly Unionist, and speak well of the Emperor, who has a reputation of looking out for the less fortunate of the Empire, railing only against who they call grifting, abusive, ostentatious pointless Nobles. The Bone Horror Crisis hit Hallonq badly, but its Allorn-era ruins are still full of gangs and criminal practice. Residents of the state are discriminated against by other Daendroque, who often despise the reputation that Hallonq has given them.

  • Osso and Massif, port-focused regions most famous for their immensely high population of Feka Asha, due to their proximity to the Ashal States, but lack of formal recognition as a portion of those states and heavy Daendroque minority has led to them being the first place Ashal exiles and those who want to leave Ashal society go. Due to this constant population influx, they are somewhat unstable, but the local government has found ways to bridge the Daendroque, full Asha, and half-Asha populations, to where serious tensions are not a worry anymore.

Eronidas

The Eronidas of this region are the smaller of the two Eronidas organized city-state leagues, called Staat Ois Teras. They are less belligerent due to their relative force multiplier, and of the Eronidas have the smaller Baros population, being more given to trade with the surrounding regions, and frequently sending caravans through Altalar lands into the Regalian Empire to do business.

Notable Locations

Lenna Bas

Lenna Bas was once the capital to the Kingdom of Thellassia. However, when it fell to the Regalians in the Elven War of 302 AC, it became the regional capital of the Regalian government, which now rules over L’Evellen. The city is almost unrecognizable to Altalar, as artwork has been done away with, modified expertly into Imperial-styled structures and public works. Great banners representing the Regalian Empire and House Kade decorate the streets, and a large number of new Anglian Ailor families have moved into the city, with many Altalar having since been driven out by force or choice. They are supported by Ithanian nobles and bureaucrats who swept into the whole region to rule its various administrative centers (including Lenna Bas). Every year on the 29th of June, a spectacular parade is held in honor of the city's capitulation with the Regalian military proudly in attendance and participating. The city is directly ruled by Section Captains, each controlling an area of the city, who all report to the regional chair general who, at this time, is also L’Elvellen’s governor.

Windgarden

Windgarden is the last major Cielothar settlement in the entire world. It was initially nothing more than a small, simple town at the edge of the Ularen Corridor and Caslin, but in the aftermath of the Ranger Crisis, its population exploded as it lay on one of the larger Trails of the Fallen Star, the routes which took the Cielothar south. Horrified by what they saw, the Cielothar took it upon themselves to actively protect and promote Cielothar culture with the aid of the local Avanthar. It has remained a significant junction point between these two Races, the local Yanar and foreign traders, and supporting trade ties between Teled Methen and Daendroc. The large village is centered around a colossal Windmill but has eight major windmills around it as well. There are many animals on display, from domesticated farm animals to more feral creatures, the Cielothar are in the process of taming, such as Nimbinoldors. There are also vibrant market days held biweekly, where caravans of goods come out, and barter trade is conducted, except between outsider traders as many of them use Regals and other hard currencies.

Royal Encampment

The Royal Encampment was once the site of Avanthar princely glory and the crowning gem of their efforts, a sprawling tent-city occupying a large valley at the heart of their steppe territory. Since the establishment of the Avanthar as a distinct people, and even before then, those who had directed them always ruled from the Royal Encampment, which supposedly started as a military command center for Prince Avan’tär to stay at while he commanded his rapidly growing Legion. It was mostly famous for the decorum of its Princes, who would wander among the common people and sponsor building projects in any of the markets or shanty districts to bring themselves closer to the subjects they ruled, and for its expansiveness as a center of trade. For even though Avanthar are frequently the raiders of caravans, any caravan marked with an Avanthar stamp of safe passage could carry Gold openly on its roof without fear, as the threat of Avanthar retribution scared off most would-be thieves. That said, the Royal Encampment is now firmly a thing of the past, as Regalian forces under Emperor Cedromar destroyed it as a military action in the Long Elven War. Ravaged by his Draconic form, all of its Princes are long dead, and this similarly longtime center of the Avanthar people is now picked at by crows and bandits. Even though it has been destroyed, the Avanthar hold certain and openly that when their political situation re-stabilizes, they fully intend to rebuild it.

Trivia

  • Most of Daendroc was once unified under an Altalar polity called Great Talant Dassaal, a state equal in power to the modern Ilha Faial, if not greater. The focus of Teledden revanchism is on establishing this state.
  • Much of the popular music enjoyed by the Ailor commonfolk originated from Daendroque guitar rhythms, which in and of themselves have a long and complex tradition steeped in the playing style of peasant villages up and down the coastline.
