Sinistral Point buy is part of the bigger Proficiency System. Please read the Proficiency Page first before reading this one. Sinistral Point Buy provides Magic Spell Packs that are considered "Evil", morally speaking. Please consult the Magic Page before Point Buying any Packs here, as some considerations have to be made with regard to Spell Morality, and Dimension Alignment that affect how other Characters respond to your Character.

Magical Talent

Talents provide somewhat broad descriptions of out-of-combat things a Character can do that have a vaguely or explicit magical feel to them. MassiveCraft does not in theory limit the creative freedom of Magic Roleplay. A Mage can create autonomous lights or brooms, give magical effects to drinks, or ignite and douse fires with a simple gesture. Investing in any Radiant or Enchant or Sinistral Packs results in the player also having creative freedom with non-combat Magic. Players are asked to self-moderate with what is reasonable and acceptable in Roleplay to all participants. Sinistral Magic in particular can be thought of as damaging and corrupting, so Magical Talent's usage of it could be to taint and damage the world. If you feel choice-paralysis over what you can do with this, or feel creatively lacking ideas, be sure to ask a Lore Staff in a Ticket.

Magic Combat

Magic Casting can be used to attack people without their attached Abilities. This uses magic as a weapon. The aesthetics do not matter, whether to summon a magical sword, or a wave of magical energy from the hands. Magic Attack Emotes use Arcane Proficiency as Main Combat Stat (for dice rolling). A weapon is not required to use this, but the user cannot wield a shield at the same time. Magic Attack Emotes are always made in Melee Range, but a Pack from Enchant Point Buy allows Ranged Combat. Only one of these Point Buy packs are required for this, and if a character has no Arcane, they are considered incapable of using Magic combat effectively. This is the default Main Combat Stat for Magic Characters, and can be combined with abilities that change Main Defense Stat, but without them, Constitution is used.

Sinistral Spell Packs

Sinistral Spells are primarily damaging, intimidating, tainting, and corrupting. For morally good protecting spells, see Radiant Point Buy. For morally gray spells, see Enchant Point Buy

Sinistral Puppet Pack

This pack is centered around using magic to turn allies against their friends, harming them against their will.
