Aloria is the name given by the Races of the world for those lands within close bounds, and is often defined as all known lands aside from what exists in the Far East and beyond the Far West. Its lands are endlessly diverse, with varying climates, terrain types, and forms of organic life existing across its surface. There are also many structures and settlements; some massive cities, others small huddled huts, and others no longer lived in as they stand in ruin. Aloria has seen countless people fall and rise over its life, the various Civilizations of Aloria, but none have ever seen the diversity that is today commonplace worldwide. The terrain of Aloria has also shifted constantly throughout history, but for now, it seems that Aloria is here to stay in its current form.
People come and go; civilizations rise and fall; magics shape the face of the world. Yet one thing always remains constant: Aloria. Aloria, the name given to the planet upon which the Humans, Nelfin, Gorr, Dargon, and other races reside upon, is a vast and expansive land that too few see too much of. Covered in rolling hills, luscious jungles, perilous mountains, frozen tundras, arid deserts, echoing canyons, and wavy oceans, the land is as diverse as it is wide. Nations and states war with one another, while flora and fauna thrive. At the same time, Aloria can be a dangerous and harsh place to those who succumb to starvation, disease, magic, fire, or even the blade. This land is one which has seen thousands of years of history, from the great and mighty Seraph to the transformed Mekett, who were once known as the Meraic. Scholars estimate that only around 30% of Aloria has been discovered by civilizations such as the Regalian Empire and the Songaskian Masaya. That being said, there are still many unknown people to meet, and hundreds of hidden places to discover.

History
Creation
The history of Aloria as a world is shrouded in mystery. Millenia ago, the Seraph lived as the First Civilization. Through some unknown means, or perhaps not of their own doing, the Void Cycle of Aloria began and so now their ruins are all that remain of them materially today. Thus the Void Cycle carried on for millenia, Civilizations rising and falling, until the Altalar and their Allorn Empire. To scholars today, the Altalar were the true successors to the Seraph, delving deep into Magic and developing a society of enormous power. They accomplished great feats, but they too began to slip and the Void Cycle seemed inevitable to continue. But something happened, and this time things were different. The Fifth Void Invasion did not end as all others had, but instead it ended with the Cataclysm, an explosion of magical energy that reverberated through the world and affected millions, and the Wildering, which obliterated the core territories of the Allorn Empire. Terrain was altered on many continents, and Magic was forever changed; great skills and powers locked behind ages and decades of study which had once only required months or mere years. Thus the world entered the new age, as Ailor, once a slave people and a group seen at the fringes of world history exploded into power and population. The Regalian Archipelago nurtured and then unleashed the Regalian Empire onto the world, which has now come to rule a nation arguable greater in territory than the Altalar ever had. Elsewhere, other Races emerged from magical events, beings like the Maraya and Songaskians, new, exotic players on a scene that has rarely seen their kind before. Today, Aloria remains ever changing and, since 300 AC, Aloria has been beset by many fundamental shifts and changes to world power. It is unknown what the end of the current decade will look like, or what it will be like to look back over these chaotic times, but the lands of Aloria will always endure, as it always has.
Of all the people in Aloria, not one knows for certain how their native world was created. Some, such as the followers of Estel, believe that their Goddess created the world from an arid and volcanic continent. Others, such as the Unionists, believe that there was never a time of inexistence and that the world has always been. Yet still others, like the Isldar, hold unwavering faith to the theory of omnipotent dragons who shaped the world into what it is today. Old Gods, Sects of Unionism, Void Worship, Esrah Alwattah, Shama-Abdala, Nessrassian, and even many more dot Aloria, all with their different explanations of how they made it to where they are today. The history of Aloria spans back thousands of years, past five civilizations and countless magical anomalies of both inception and apocalypse. It could very well be that the Alorians will never know the purpose or catalyst for their creation, or perhaps they will find that the truth has simply been hidden just below their noses the entire time...

The First Civilization: The Seraph
The Seraph are the oldest and first known civilized people in all of Aloria and are thought to have died out seven thousand years ago, but are estimated to have lived well before thirteen thousand years ago. Built upon magical prowess and daring arcane discovery, the Seraph were the first to establish a link to the Void and Exist, as well as bring Estel (and subsequently the Arken) to Aloria. The Seraph, in all their hubris glory, were felled after their greed to tap into magic best left untouched led to the first Void Invasion. This began a long series of cyclic events that would each end in a Void Invasion and a subsequent scattering and rebuilding of society, only to be undone again.
The Second Civilization
The Second Civilization is one of the two civilizations hardly known of by modern Alorians. This is mostly due to the short amount of time that they had to make an impact on history; the Second Civilization’s tenure was less than five years long. These five years began after the Seraph completely died out. At the end of its existence, the Second Civilization disappeared completely from Aloria without a trace, making it the most difficult to research and understand.

The Third Civilization
Like the Second Civilization, the Third Civilization is one shrouded by mystery and intrigue. It is up to speculation who or what the Third Civilization was; the civilization did not last long before it was wiped out due to their excessive use of magic. The Third Civilization ended nearly six thousand years ago.

The Fourth Civilization: The Meraic
The Meraic are one of the most well-known ancient civilizations. These magically-inclined people rivalled the Seraph in terms of their abilities to harvest and wield magic, and were great collectors of knowledge. The Meraic Civilization lasted until about four thousand years ago, when most of their numbers were destroyed. The rest of their race fled into the safety of their Chrysalis Stasis tunnels below Hadar, eventually evolving into what the modern Mekett is today. Still, most of this ancient knowledge has been lost to time simply due to the loss of memory experienced by the old Meraic post-stasis.

The Fifth Civilization: The Nelfin
The fifth and final civilization, the Nelfin, are consequently the most well-known. The Nelfin, like the civilizations before it, formed the remnants of Aloria into a mighty empire, dominating all surrounding races and cultures with their magical prowess. Unlike the civilizations before it, the Elven Empire technically managed to stop the cycle by surviving the Void Invasion entirely by accident. Unbeknownst to most Alorians, the underlying events of the Cataclysm, including the actions of the Arken and the Great Ice Dragon, staved off the systematic purge of the Nelfin, and enabled the limited survival of many of their numbers. Unfortunately, the longevity of the Elven Empire was shattered due to the inadvertent effects of the Cataclysm, as well as the political disasters of the Elven Civil War, Orc Invasion, and more.

The Ascended Civilization: The Ailor
Some scholars argue that Aloria is still in the Fifth Civilization because the Elven races still remain a noteworthy political force in Aloria. Others argue that the Cataclysm marked the end of the fifth, and the start of a sixth. The Ailor Civilization, spearheaded by the Regalian Empire, is thought to be one of the best Civilizations to live in. The Ailor have access to what is generally accepted as the most advanced technology across all boards, specifically that of medicine and science. Additionally, whereas other civilizations were centered on one specific race, the Ailor Civilization has (after the turn of its third century) become largely tolerant of other races. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the Ailor are not entirely reliant upon magic, whereas previous civilizations were.

The Far North is the most northern of these regions, and is both an ice shelf of brutal cold, in the case of the Northern Expanse, but also a land of warm and strange regions in the region of Drowda. There are dozens of nations and states that dot the planet of Aloria. As of late, Aloria is experiencing a polarization of nations and states into super-empires, where individual countries are amassing large swaths of land as well as adopting more efficient administrative bureaucracy to run it.
The world of Aloria has been dominated by many super powers over the years but, in recent times, the dynamics between those of the modern era have drastically shifted. First, there is the Regalian Empire, which has seen unprecedented periods of turmoil as it has dealt with magical and material conflicts. Despite this, it remains powerful, and reigns over the most land out of all the Empires in the world. Then, there is the Songaskian Masaya, once the dark sister to Regalia as that nation possessed (and still does) the largest navy while the Masaya possessed the largest armies. Unfortunately, the countless conflicts of the past several years have ravaged the Masaya and they have been knocked down to a second rate power. To the south of both sits the silent, but lightly fidging, Sendrassian Empire. In comparison to previous centuries of silence, the Sendrassian Allar finally seem to be poking their snouts out of their hostile homeland, as their agents have been seen in distant Dexai while their troops have had sparing clashes with the Allar of Hadaria in the waters of the Snake Bend Sea. Finally, there is the Dread Empire, who now engages in open warfare against enemy forces, whether Regalian or Altalar, found in Daen. Between these major powers rest countless smaller ones, some allies of these major nations, others enemies and a few neutral to the point of helping or accepting all.
