Beasts of incredible size that drifted on the breeze as if they were as light as a feather, the Aetherwhales were a rare sight among the clouds, drifting in and out of cloud banks as they ate entire clouds of birds at a time. The Aetherwhale is a gargantuan mammal the size of an inn that resembles a fish, with three pairs of fins along their stomach that they use to navigate the sky and a great tailfin to propel them forward. Aetherwhales also are known for their sad ‘whale song’, a melancholic tune that they use to communicate that once was heard echoing from the lofty heights they built their pods around. Their most remarkable characteristic, however, is their ability to float, which comes from unique organs inside the Aetherwhale which house thousands upon thousands of microscopic bacteria that convert normal air into special lighter-than-air gases. These organs are able to be vented through the skin of the Aetherwhale, granting it the ability to rise and descend through the air with moderate ease. Once a common sight over the mountains of Ellador, the Aetherwhales have become increasingly more rare to stumble upon in the past century. This has baffled ecologists who have found no reason for the sudden disappearance; with the only real theories involve a dwindling food supply and migration to other places beyond the sea. Despite this, the floating creatures have certainly left their mark on the world, as the early designs for airships were said to be inspired by seeing Aetherwhales lofting among the frosty peaks of their home. |

It bears a close resemblance to the many wolves of Aloria, though it is drastically different in its behavioural patterns. | | Calemberger White Ferret | While the Calemberger White Ferret’s pelt is well known by the many denizens of the lordship, not many know of their origins. Despite the native region being known for its furs and rustic clothing style, the Calemberger White Ferret isn’t an animal the regular citizen is likely to see on the isle. In reality, the ferret is kept in captivity and harvested for its furs; leaving it unable to roam the wilds properly with a population of next to zero outside of captivity, save for small pockets that escape to the wild accidentally. Calemberger White Ferrets are specially bred for their pure and much sought after white fur, and any ferret exhibiting a dull grey or any other colour fur are either slaughtered without a chance to affect the precious breeding genepool. Despite being kept in captivity, the ferrets are nowhere close to domesticated, and aren’t suitable for a home setting. Since their captivity, the animals have become increasingly feisty, resulting in the reputation of being infamously hard to breed. |

| | Ghoten | Ghoten are curious creatures and additionally, prime examples in the benefit of breeding. These furred reptiles are often loyal pets to the merchants and travelers of Muird. In the past, they served as an obstacle in the swamps across the continent before the Tarchlann people domesticated them. While some rare members of their species remain in the wild in their large sizes, the Ghoten overall retain a small size bred into them by the Muird natives. Today, they stand as polar opposites as one breed is a calm, loving pet while the other is a fierce predator. |

| | Ghor Ka Bloodscale | In the eyes of many, Ghor Ka Bloodscales are odd creatures. These curious creatures are thought to be the result of several failed Allar experiments that could not be eradicated by the alchemists and scientists who created them. A small reptile with red scales, the Ghor Ka Bloodscale is intelligent enough to converse with other members of their own species, have a primitive form of written communication, and even make crude weaponry. Though they are native to the jungles of Sendras, Hadar, and Teled Methen, Ghor Ka Bloodscales can often be found on pirate and slaver vessels due to their ability to make mutually beneficial pacts with sentient races such as the Allar, Slizzar, Tigran, and Altalar. |

The Hagaan is one of the infamous reptiles to walk the deserts of Aloria, and it is feared by Qadir and Ailor alike for its deadly bite. |

| | Kelp | Cunning and deceitful, the Kelp of Aloria were only recently discovered in the colonial lands of New Ceardia. Prone to taking on magical guises, they are notorious for luring their victims to secluded places and killing them. They predominantly dwell in underwater caves, away from the outside world. Kelp are rare and fascinating, but a person should treat these creatures with the utmost care when in contact with them. |

| | Basilisk | Very few creatures are as vilified and dangerous as the great Basilisk. This colossal serpent, known as the Great King of Snakes, patrols the stone forests of Llíü’raëth searching for rare metals, treasure, or prey to feast upon. Though its origins are unknown, many attribute the Basilisk to be a final descendent of the Green Dragons that occupied Hyarroc thousands of years ago. The Basilisk lives in a massive sinkhole called The Maw, thought to be a burial site of the snake’s ancestors. Today, the ancient serpent wanders the stone forest, exerts control over the Stone Forest Snakes, and is considered to be one of the most deadly monsters in Aloria. |

They waving a thin, wispy tail covered in small paddles to appear like an aquatic plant before ejecting a thick mucus out of their bodies and mouth to both clog the entryway to their lairs and their prey’s gills. They are not the most conventional predator, but are still effective nonetheless. |

| | Yǒudú Jīnyú | The Poison Koi, specifically known as “Yǒudú Jīnyú”—which roughly translates into “poisonous goldish” in Common—among the inhabitants of the Yang-Tzu Islands, is a treacherous, seemingly harmless fish that lives in familial schools, and are often kept in special types of ponds. This type of fish is unfortunately one of the most deadly creatures to keep around or even remain in vicinity of due to its constant secretion of toxins. When not found in the wild, they are often captured and sold for high bargains to the wealthiest houses, often those of royalty. |

While the substance on its own is disgusting, diluting it with Vocadine or other alcohol-based alchemy mixtures often produce an excellent flame resistant lacquer. |

This scavenging fly has a body the size of a fist, thought to be the result of exposure to Void Essence or alchemical runoff, making it a terrifying sight to behold. It's highly defensive behaviour, coupled with their fast reproductive rate makes Sewer Bloat Flies very difficult to contain or remove from any one place. This creates a big problem for those who dwell in the Regalian Undercity; it is becoming increasingly difficult to prevent these insects from taking over more and more of the sewer systems, eventually rendering them completely uninhabitable. |

| | Haurmann | If there ever was a creature that deserved to die, it would be the Haurmann. Haurmann have no purpose in life other than to eat and annoy whomever they cross paths with. They resemble small walking eggs with horrific, almost balloon-like features on their faces, eyes that look like they could fall out of their sockets and crooked teeth that make one wonder how they can even consume anything. Haurmann are frequently the butt joke of comedy shows, and some particularly unentertaining bars or cafes have one behind the bar for cheap entertainment. |

These great Magus mysteries were thought to be taller than most Regalian buildings, and capable of walking—and even talking—with others. The Nenya have played an important role in Nelfin history; they are thought to have preceded the Elven Empire, and to have been magical emissaries of Estel herself. Unfortunately, the Nenya haven’t been seen since before the Cataclysm; during the Night of the Fallen Star, the Shendar ensured that the few remaining emissaries were driven into hiding, or further eradicated. |

| | Temple Orphan | The greatest horror that stalks the jungles of Solangeria, the Temple Orphan, is responsible for the vast majority of deaths of explorers that dare to venture into the deep jungles. Temple Orphans are relatively rare, but the Solangeria Qadir always know where to find them, or more specifically how to guide intruders towards them to certain death. The Temple Orphans are as mysterious as they are deadly. Various mythical tales as to their origin existing among various peoples who have made contact with them and survived. Temple Orphans carry their name because while passive, they emit a sound that sounds eerily similar to a crying baby. As soon as their prey comes close enough, the sound stops, the head turns and death follows shortly. It should be noted that the Temple Orphans do not actually hunt their prey. They simply seem to attract anyone curious enough for the sake of killing them. Not even for food, as these creatures have never been witnessed to consume any of their victims or indeed any food at all. It simply just kills for the sake of killing. |

| | Feathered Dragon | The Feathered Dragons were the only Dragon species presumed native to the Regalian Archipelago in the many millennia before their eventual assumed extinction around 20 BC. The Feathered Dragons are best remembered for having a major impact on the local environment of the early Regalian Kingdom, as well as living on in various symbolisms and family crests. Throughout the years before their assumed extinction, the Dragons had frequent contact with the early Regalian Humans, and as such, several theories and folk lore stories continue to thrive, particularly in Anglia and Drixagh. |

| | Yellow Water Dragon | The Yellow Water Dragons were the smallest Dragons ever witnessed in the world of Aloria. These elegant small Dragons often lived near the water, more notably around coastlines of Hadar and Sendras. The Yellow Water Dragons were strongly adored by the Slizzar and, to a lesser degree, the Allar. Much like the other Dragon species, the Yellow Water Dragons went extinct some time around 50 BC by some disease that struck them over the course of a decade. The Allar attempted to save the Yellow Water Dragons, though to little effect unfortunately. |
