Aloria, wherein your character lives and plays, is a vast land full of rich cultures steeped in richer history. From great wars and battles to protests and rebellions, great migrations and even greater numbers in hiding, Aloria's history is bathed in drama and excitement. Aloria is also host to a vast variety of playable races, illnesses you might be able to catch in-character, religions your creatures can follow, knowledge they'd know and knowledge they wouldn't, and everything in between to help you have a fleshed out understanding of the world, and to help you create a fleshed out character to take place within.

Curses

There are a few conditions that many Alorians refer to as curses, due to their awful and often evil nature. Curses are often brought about with false promises of great things -- power, strength, and freedom, for example. However, with the great rewards come even greater costs, taking more away from those inflicted and leaving them even more helpless than before. Typically, curses aren't spread like normal illnesses, instead started by a dangerous force and offered to the world to further ruin it. Events

Throughout the history of Aloria, many events have occurred. Some effecting few, some effecting many, some shaking the entire world or merely causing a minor tremor. History is made daily, but ancient history is recorded and discovered fairly infrequently. The tomes and artifacts from long ago might have only been discovered by chance, or been unearthed after long years of research by many people. Geography

Aloria itself is a wide and vast world, filled to the brim with continents, cities, and islands alike. The terrain of these differ greatly, and offer everything from sea to land to dreadful lava. While some of these notable places are ones you can visit and explore in-game, others are ones created solely for the sake of lore, backstories, and to give readers a better understanding of the world of Aloria. Illnesses

Illnesses and diseases run rampant about Aloria, and with limited technology and even more limited alchemy, the way they spread and infect can become unstoppable. The population of Aloria have gone through great plagues and unfortunate afflictions alike. While some are long-gone -- a figment of history -- others still spread frequently to this day, spreading among populaces without discrimination. Magic

Within Aloria, there are many preternatural forces at work, and some brave individuals may even learn to harness these powers in the form of magic. Magic is frowned upon or outlawed in various places about the world, and it's discouraged to play a magical character unless you're prepared for the responsibility it entails. A mage character can be very exciting, but potentially difficult, depending on how you play them, and dangerous if you play them recklessly. Organizations

Large organizations have risen and fallen many a time within Aloria's vast history. Some of them have very specific focuses, while others are much more broad. Furthermore, some can be about arts, or combat, or sport. Some are for more productive gains, while others are for mere entertainment. While some are player run, and currently exist, some are part of history, or run by NPC's. People

Aloria has seen a great many brilliant minds, brave warriors, and treacherous dictators across each and every one of its varied continents. Throughout its history, wars have been fought, empires have risen and fallen, and great heroes have been created or slain. However, behind every victory is a victor and behind every demise is a destroyer. Races

Aloria is host to many unique and interesting races, both alive and extinct. Every race has at least one culture, and various even have subraces that coexist or war with one another. Every one of the races listed here are playable in-character, and it is encouraged a bit of research is put into the race you decide to play -- even humans. Religions

Aloria is a vast world filled with many different people, cultures, and beliefs. As such it is dotted with all sorts of different, varying religions, customs and belief systems which influence a wide variety of people's and societies. As religions often do, many new belief systems pop up all the time within the wonderful world of Aloria and the numbers, types and followers of religions are always changing. Textbooks

Aloria is full of a plethora of information that can usually be categorized into nice little sections. However, sometimes some things don't quite fit in a certain category, leaving where they belong up for debate. This is where textbooks come along. Textbooks can be found throughout Aloria, often detailing everything from history to technology. If it cannot be categorized elsewhere, it can fit into a textbook.
