Crafting Point Buy

Crafting Point Buy is part of the Proficiency System. Its Packs allow a Character to buy into hobby, craft, and maintenance activities, making buildings, items, and gear. They are valuable tools if used right.

Metallurgy Craft Pack

The Metallurgy Craft Pack makes your Character proficient at the creation and use of metals, alloys, and other rare earth metals to produce items: for example, weapons, shields, or tools. Metallurgy is not required for Engineering, though it is a common combination, as it lets Engineers skip buying materials. When buying this Pack, your Character gains the skills necessary to craft with all Materials described on the Metals page. They can also acquire the raw ore of any non Progression-limited materials.

• A Custom Kit exists for this Pack. If applied for, Lore Staff will measure if your Character design is focused on smithing, and if your Character provides active smith service and is a well-known smith. If approved, you may work with Lore Staff to design two extra Metals for the Metals Page.
• When comparing skill with other Characters, a higher Constitution stat presumes superior skill and design.

Wood Craft Pack

The Wood Craft Pack makes your Character proficient at the creation and use of wood crafts: for example, carving, bending, or processing. Wood Craft can complement Metallurgy as a way to make more intricate handles or wooden parts, but is not required for standard Metallurgy work. Wood Craft can also be used to carve into buildings, or even raise them from the ground up, such as cabins, houses, or carts. When buying this Pack, your Character gains the skills necessary to craft with all Materials described on the Woods page. They can also acquire the raw wood of any non Progression-limited materials.

• A Custom Kit exists for this Pack. If applied for, Lore Staff will measure if your Character design is focused on woodworking, and if your character provides active woodworking/building services and is well-known for them. If approved, you may work with Lore Staff to design a unique Wood for the Woods Page, and request wooden countryside buildings made by your Character in RP Community Discord Tickets.

Thread Craft Pack

The Thread Craft Pack makes your Character proficient at the creation and use of thread and fabric: for example, designing and sewing clothing, weaving, threading, rope making, or sail making. When buying this Pack, your Character gains the skills necessary to craft with all Materials described on the Fibers page. They can also acquire the raw material of anything non Progression-limited in this category.

• A Custom Kit exists for this Pack. If applied for, Lore Staff will measure if your Character design is focused on weaving/sewing, and if your character provides active weaving/sewing services and is well-known for them. If approved, you may work with Lore Staff to design a unique Fabric or Fiber for the Fibers Page.
• When comparing skill with other Characters, a higher Constitution stat presumes superior skill and design.

Earthenware Craft Pack

The Earthenware Craft Pack makes your character Proficient at the creation of clay, marble, stone, or other earthenware items, utensils, or constructions. Earthenware Craft can also be used to make bricks, carve marble, and construct buildings out of stone. When buying this Pack, your Character gains the skills necessary to craft with all Materials described on the Earthenware page. They can also acquire the raw material of anything non Progression-limited in this category.

• A Custom Kit exists for this Pack. If applied for, Lore Staff will measure if your Character design is focused on sculpting/pottery, and if your character provides active sculpting/pottery services and is well-known for them. If approved, you may work with Lore Staff to design a unique Earthenware, Stone, or Clay material for the Earthenware page, and request stone countryside buildings made by your Character in RP Community Discord Tickets.
