The Ranged Weapon Point Buy is part of the bigger [[Test]] System. Please read the Proficiency Page first before reading this one. Where-as Weapon Point Buy allows for specific weapon proficiency, Ranged Weapon Point Buy has a much broader application. Buying any Ranged Weapon Pack results in the user having approximate skill in any and all Ranged Weapons (Bows, Javelins, Sling, etc.) or Caster Weapons (Mage Staff, Wand, Spelltome, etc.) not specifically Firearms. [[Firearms Point Buy]] is its own separate Point Buy page. As such, all Mundane Techniques on this page can interchangeably be used on any Ranged Weapon or Caster Weapon. Despite Caster Weapons being Magical in nature, using these Mundane Techniques on a Caster Weapon does not make the user Aberrant or Occult, as the Magic is in the weapon, not the user. Because of this, it is additionally not countered by mechanics that would usually counter Magic or Abilities.

Ranged Weapon Point Buy is part of the Test System. Buying any Pack allows a Character to use all Ranged Weapons (Bows, Javelins, Slings, etc.) or Caster Weapons (Mage Staff, Wand, Spelltome, etc.) but specifically not Firearms, which have their own page. All learned Techniques can be used with any Ranged Weapon the Character has. Using Caster Weapons doesn't make the user Occult, as the Magic is stored in the weapon, not the user. Caster Weapons are not counterable by Magic or Ability-counter mechanics, and function like any other Mundane weapon.

Ranged Weapons can be used without using their attached Abilities. We encourage dice rolls to resolve disputes when players can't figure out what to do next. Remember not to expect one-shots and to pace your rate of fire, but also that you have a right to punish anime melee characters for not wearing armor or bringing a shield.
