The Ranged Weapon Point Buy is part of the bigger [[Test]] System. Please read the Proficiency Page first before reading this one. Where-as Weapon Point Buy allows for specific weapon proficiency, Ranged Weapon Point Buy has a much broader application. Buying any Ranged Weapon Pack results in the user having approximate skill in any and all Ranged Weapons (Bows, Javelins, Sling, etc.) or Caster Weapons (Mage Staff, Wand, Spelltome, etc.) not specifically Firearms. [[Firearms Point Buy]] is its own separate Point Buy page. As such, all Mundane Techniques on this page can interchangeably be used on any Ranged Weapon or Caster Weapon. Despite Caster Weapons being Magical in nature, using these Mundane Techniques on a Caster Weapon does not make the user Aberrant or Occult, as the Magic is in the weapon, not the user. Because of this, it is additionally not countered by mechanics that would usually counter Magic or Abilities.

Ranged Weapons can be used to shoot without using their attached Abilities. We encourage dice rolls to resolve disputes when players can't figure out what to do next. Remember not to expect one-shots and to pace your rate of fire, but also that you have a right to punish anime melee characters for not wearing armor or bringing a shield.

Ranged Weapon Point Buy is part of the Proficiency System. Buying any Pack allows a Character to use all Ranged Weapons (Bows, Javelins, Slings, etc.), but specifically not Firearms, which have their own page. "Caster Weapons" such as Tomes, Staffs, orbs, etc, have their rules explained on the Magic Point Buy page. All learned Techniques can be used with any Ranged Weapon the Character has.

Ranged Weapons can be shot without using an Ability. After firing, the user rolls a 1d20, and hits if the result is higher than 8. It takes only one emote to fully load and fire, but Ranged Weapons cannot penetrate shields.
