Ranged Weapon Point Buy is part of the [[Proficiency]] System. Buying any Pack allows a Character to use all Ranged Weapons (Bows, Javelins, Slings, etc.) or Caster Weapons (Mage Staff, Wand, Spelltome, etc.) but specifically not Firearms, which have their own page. All learned Techniques can be used with any Ranged Weapon the Character has. Using Caster Weapons doesn't make the user Occult, as the Magic is stored in the weapon, not the user. Caster Weapons are not counterable by Magic or Ability-counter mechanics, and function like any other Mundane weapon.

Ranged Weapons can be used without using their attached Abilities. We encourage dice rolls to resolve disputes when players can't figure out what to do next. Remember not to expect one-shots and to pace your rate of fire, but also that you have a right to punish anime melee characters for not wearing armor or bringing a shield.
