World Story

Synopsis

Aloria is a medieval fantasy setting touched by the echoes of greater times. Though it is full of the Magical, inside and out, in much of the world it is a bygone thing of mystery. Only in the sprawling Imperial capitals does the glory of ages come out in force. Aloria is a cyclical place: its Empires rise and fall, its Religions grow and shrink, and Magic and the sciences trade seats on the throne.

The Roleplay itself is set in the City of Regalia, capital of the Empire of the same name. A young nation, it has stumbled its way to global leadership through plans long laid and the stubbornness of its legendary Emperors to see them done. People from across Aloria journey to it to make their fortunes, whether they love the Empire or no. This lends Regalia immense wealth, and the City status as the pearl of all Cities, by far the largest in the world.

Having vanquished most of its immediate enemies, Regalia sits at a crossroads. With its predecessor the Allorn (Elven) Empire returned to life in the west, the Dread (Demon-Worshipping Elven) Empire alongside it, the Sendrassians menacing to the south, and little worthwhile land in any other sailing distance, it has brushed up against its capacity to expand. Thus in recent years, the aggressive drumbeat of conquest has slowed down, as Regalia now settles in for the long game of geopolitics.

Military Conflicts

This section contains all major military conflicts in recent history, and it has pages detailing the events during these conflicts. These are good reading materials for military/warrior-themed characters, and each page contains information on how to integrate them into a Character's backstory as a veteran or witness to the events. This in turn can help players add more flair to their backstory with things to talk about or reflect on.

Political Events

This Section contains all major political events in recent history, which have had some major impact on life in the capital of the Regalian Empire. Each page contains details of the exact events, and how your Character could have witnessed them. This in turn can help expand on your character's opinions about the political system and potentially determine (or change) their loyalties inside the world.

General Timeline

This section contains a non-event-specific timeline that organizes the world's events chronologically. Some may however link to various Progression Posts on the Forums or descriptions of on-Server events for players to inform themselves. Generally, these are not for players to incorporate into their own Character's backstory, because they were purely there for the players who were around when they happened.
