==Cursing Mechanic==
This Mechanic requires that a player fully read and understand the [[Magic#Cursing | Cursing Section]] of the Magic Page, and also have at least 2 Points invested into Planar Magic (Void/Exist/Ordial). This Mechanic allows for players to apply "Curses" to other Characters in Private and Public Roleplay. The Cursing Mechanic exists for unscrupulous or draconian Mages who want to use their magic to inflict suffering and/or punishments on others. This Mechanic is for one Player to use, and for any of their Curse "Targets" to consent to.
* The Cursing Mechanic requires OOC Consent on behalf of the Curse Target, which can be revoked at any time afterwards, justified by an NPC off-screen removing the Curse.
* Consent for the Cursing Mechanic requires that a player be up-front with what Curse they want to apply, so that the potential Target can agree to that specific Curse, not an obfuscated curse, or carte blanch.
* The Cursing Mechanic requires the Player applying the Curse share with the Curse Target's Player in clear terms in DMs what the Curse does, how long it lasts, and what their Magic Stat is for dispelling considerations.
* What the Curse does is up to the Player applying the Curse, as long as it adheres to the rules on the Magic Page, and in this section.
* The Standard for Curses is that if a Curse would make it so someone does not want to log on at all for the duration of the Curse, it is a bad Curse, and should be re-worked or removed immediately.
* Applying a Curse does not always require a Player and their Curse Target be present in the same scene, if the Player has roleplayed out cursing a number of objects, within reason.
* Players are expected to only ever have cursed a small number of objects, and not hand them out excessively. Handing out a cursed object still requires OOC Consent.
* Some Mechanics in Custom Kits, Afflictions, or other Pages on the Wiki may allow for specific circumstances where OOC Consent is not required to apply a Curse. If this is the case, all the rules in this section still apply, just without the need for Consent or allowing it to be revoked.
