Nurnivar is a mirror handcrafted by a powerful Exist Spirit known as the Smiling One in return for services rendered. As a recent creation, it lacks any history of note. However, its nature may contain hints about the ultimate goals and interests of this Spirit, and is one of the rare cases over the past millennia of an Exist Spirit feeling confident and safe enough to play its hand in the face of many interests that would enjoy its destruction. Its ability to create something like this speaks to a marked increase in its power, with worrisome implications.

Description
Nurnivar is a pale hand mirror etched of whitish metal that has a yellowish tint to it when cast under light. Its construction is altogether alien. At first glance it looks somewhat Elven, but only in an uncanny valley sort of way, where its designs do not actually pay homage to any one Elven culture. Its elliptical edge is ringed with geometries of interlocking squares and rectangles knit of thin wire, while its surface never needs to be polished. Whenever its holder looks into it, they see themselves, but with their face twisted up into a smile no matter their real expression.
Artifact Mechanics
Artifact Mechanics are split between Permanent Mechanics, Sparked Mechanics, and Sparked Combat Mechanics. Permanent Mechanics are always available to the wielder of the Artifact. Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics are only available if the Artifact has an Artifactspark. Sparked Combat Mechanics are noted separately, because this makes them easier to find, but they are no different from Sparked Mechanics in general. Permanent Mechanics
- This Artifact can steal the Artifactspark from other defeated Artifactholders and can hold more than one Artifactspark inside of it. Other Mechanics may derive functions from the number of Artifactsparks. Any change in the number of Artifactsparks must always be reported in a Ticket. If this Artifact has more than one Artifactspark, being defeated and having an Artifactspark stolen will only result in the loss of one, rather than all.
- This Artifact's wielder cannot be Thralled, possessed, mind controlled, mind suggested, emotion read, or in any way Magically compelled by Spirits against their will, and even if they surrender their true name to them, grant them no power over their Soul. This Mechanic does not work if the Spirit is Exist-aligned, however.
Sparked Mechanics
- Nurnivar's wielder can choose 3 Free Packs from any Proficiency Category they can invest in and supplement their Character Application, though these Packs can only be used while the Artifact has an Artifactspark.
- Nurnivar's wielder can create Soul Contracts, which are special Soul Magic documents that allow them to create binding terms that deal in more than just money. Soul Contracts can demand parts of the signer's memories, personality, or talents, which are irrevocably transferred to the Artifact holder upon failing of the Contract. Soul Contracts must be signed willingly, and not under duress. If this Artifact is lost, all associated Contracts still active are ended without consequence.
- Nurnivar's wielder benefits from any collective Ability or Mechanic that is supposed to apply only to Estelley worshipers due to its maker's parasitic nature, while ignoring any Mechanic that would target them on the basis of their Faith Status. Gods additionally are completely unable to discern the wielder's worshiper status unless permitted, but are able to tell that some entity is playing interference.
- Additional Artifactsparks held in Nurnivar beyond the first can be sacrificed (as many as the wielder wants) to make a wish to the Smiling One, which must be sent in the Roleplay Community Ticket Bot. The Smiling One is a capricious and vicious Spirit, who takes great liberties with the letter of requests. While it tends to achieve the end outcome, it is fond of collateral.
- This Artifact grants the wielder +2 Attack Stat (breaking Cap up to 11) while using Attack Emotes only. Additionally, when attacking, the wielder's Attack Dice Roll Minimum is 4. For every additional Artifactspark in the Artifact, this minimum is raised by +1.
Collectible Artifact
Artifacts are very cool, and make a Character super powerful. That being said, due to circumstances of Roleplay, a Character may end up holding onto an Artifact for months on end. This is generally not a problem, but we believe that Artifacts because of their uniqueness, should never be held onto in perpetuity by one Player. After a few months, it is time for the next player to be able to enjoy the artifact, and for this reason, Collectibles exist. After 120 days of non-consecutive Artifact ownership, an Artifact is automatically confiscated, and the Player who lost it is given a Collectible. Collectibles are thematically and aesthetically similar to the Artifact, meaning the loss of an Artifact does not visually detract from a Character's established design. However, they cannot hold Artifactsparks and only inherit the Permanent Mechanics from the Artifact they were generated from (including the rules limiting their use). On the other hand, Collectibles can never be stolen from their owner, a Collectible is owned forever, and there is no upper limit to the amount of Collectibles a Character can have, or wield/use at the same time. Collectibles cannot be traded in, though some Events may ask for their sacrifice, destroying the Collectible. To summarize this Artifact's Collectible properties:
- When this Artifact is exchanged for a Collectible, the Smiling One pays the previous owner for playing the game by giving them a Duologue Mirror.
- The Duologue Mirror Collectible inherits the second Permanent Mechanic of the Artifact (not the Artifactspark stealing one).
- While there are several Duologue Mirrors, each looks unique, though should be inspired by the appearance of the Artifact.
