The Darling’s Wing is an accessory that was initially created by the ardent lover of a Darkward Knight, to wish them luck and guidance. They were dispatched to Calemberg to shadow a taxation tour of Empress Nessaria Calontir and Chancellor Eotranna Kade, providing protection unseen from Vampires in the Region. Tales speak of this nameless Knight’s sacrifice to distract and mislead a party of Vampires who came dangerously close to besieging the caravans in the darkness of the woodlands, and whilst his efforts were successful, he met an untimely end to their blades. This keepsake was retrieved, now imbued with a golden light and a morsel of divine purpose. It has since then changed hands many times from one Knight to another, often to those who carve the path ahead and need a little whisper of encouragement when faced with uncertain decisions.
Appearance
The Darling’s Wing is a clasp to be worn around the right ear, made of silver and fashioned with violet opal gemstones. It is of a wire-bound design, formed of elegantly bent patterns to form the shape of a butterfly’s wing. When worn, the violet gemstones twinkle in the sunlight, but curiously provide a faint luminescence during nighttime as well, as Virtuous Light shines despite shadow.

Bonded Jewelry: The Darling’s Wing is bonded to its owner, Aceline Ripley, and therefore cannot be taken from them or destroyed beyond repair. The Darling’s Wing cannot leave emote range of Aceline, and will teleport back to them if taken out of range.
Rallying Whispers: As long as the Darling’s Wing is worn upon Aceline’s ear, it whispers guidance and reassurance in times of great need or doubt. Whenever Aceline invokes the names of the Unionist virtues in prayer or in battle, they hear faint whispers of encouragement, willpower, and the tales of heroism of what can be inferred to be the earring’s previous wearers.
