This page covers the existence of Faith Cabals within the Lore that create plausible alliances and cooperation between Religions that may otherwise have religious opposition or historical trauma at the hands of one another. Religions usually have fairly strict dogma that opposes them, making common ground between Religions difficult to find, and often leading to conflict. Faith Cabals exist as a form of plausible collaboration formed around a feasibly theological idea, that will nonetheless not be actual dogma. To explain this: Unionism, Draconism, Fornoss and Khama Religions unify in the "Marvel Cabal", which ostensibly wants to fight for Demon emancipation. This collaboration is built on a plausible religious interpretation of the dogma's of each of these religions, but someone can also reasonably argue against, meaning it becomes optional additional ideology, not standard. It is possible to be a member of multiple Cabals because they do not represent actual groups, but more uncoordinated subsets of people following a similar unifying end-goal, even if their individual applications may differ. Each subtextual nuance is explained in the various Cabals listed below. In short, this page is meant to give players motivations and excuses for Characters of opposing Religions to work together towards common goals, instead of always defaulting to Religious violence or theological differences being an obstacle to interacting or socializing without the pressure of faith based opposition.
Faith Cabals
Marvel Cabal
- Members: Unionism (Belialus Schism God required), Draconism, Fornoss, Khama (Dewa Variant required)
- The Marvel Cabal's primary stated goal is to emancipate Demons who want to become part of the fabric of life within Aloria, and to protect the Demons who have already committed to that from ensnarement by Binders, or the long arm of the law. Unionists commit to this goal through the angle of Belialus, who shares a similar belief set to Daiana from Draconism that Demons who wish to become part of the world, should be allowed to. Fornoss believers have a slightly more selfish angle: their form of Demon Binding as ancestor spirits is not legal in many states in the world, and they hope by helping out, that they can benefit. Finally, Dewa Khama believers want to bring about the return of the Kemet Abyss Demons, the souls of the Dewamenet Asha who were caught in the Abyss and turned into Demons long ago, to restore parts of their legacy and undo the loss of life.
Garnet Cabal
- Members: Unionism, Fornoss, Khama
- The Garnet Cabal has a very simple mission statement that does not require deeper nuance for each of its members. Unionism, Fornoss, and Khama, have all through the passage of time been subject to repression and tyranny from the Allorn Empire. These Faiths combine in the belief that the Allorn Empire is anathema to the existence of their own Religions, and thus must bring about the destruction of this threatening force in the world.
Amethyst Cabal
- Members: Estelley, Evolism, Aldurism
- The Amethyst Cabal is the polar opposite of the Garnet Cabal, with these three Religions generally agreeing that the Allorn Empire was (despite its flaws) a force of good in the world that centralized, uplifted, civilized, and expanded culture beyond the known reaches of the world. The Amethyst Cabal wants to empower the Allorn Empire to counteract the war-torn violence that is inflicted on the world by the Ailor States.
Naturalist Cabal
- Members: Draconism, Estelley, Fornoss
- The Naturalist Cabal has a specific interest in the protection, nurturing and maintaining of the natural world and eco systems in which the world was designed by divine hand. The Naturalist Cabal contains Religions that all have a strong connection with the natural world and the elements of mother nature, and with a keen understanding that with the expansion of industry and other faiths that put less importance on preserving natural beauty and pristineness, the natural world is constantly at risk of being destroyed.
Imperialis Cabal
- Members: Unionism, Draconism, Fornoss
- The Imperialis Cabal has a specific interest in the stability, prominence, and growth of the Regalian Empire, as the founding Religions that comprise the majority of its population. The Imperialis Cabal contains a set of Religions that believe their dogma can be more efficiently expressed or conformed onto the world if Regalia grows, and want to also preserve the Religious elements of their dogma in the core tenets of the Empire to ward off against potential watering down of its religious identity at the hand of immigrant populations bringing in new Religious ideas and diminishing their own. Note, this Cabal isn't anti-immigrant, it is just in favor of making sure that foreign Religions don't change their own privileged position near power.
Pax Cabal
- Members: Unionism, Draconism, Aldurism
- The Pax Cabal aims towards a world liberated from random acts of violence, cruelty, and tyranny, and aims towards a higher understanding of concepts like pacifism and preservation of life. For Unionism and Draconism these seem like fairly easy to understand concepts, as both Religions have strong elements of mercy, compassion, kindness, and the value of individual life. Aldurism seems like a bit of an odd duck in the lineup however, because many consider Aldurism and the legacy of the Archmages that it is intrinsically tied to, as being related to high levels of violence. Aldurism faithful have joined this Cabal under the notion that their faith is one of self-exploration and enrichment, and that their faith is the only faith without an express history of Religious terrorism or genocide inflicted on others. They seek the same peaceful world Unionism and Draconism aim for.
Arcana Cabal
- Members: Estelley, Fornoss, Aldurism
- The Arcana Cabal is largely inspired by Aldurism, and joined by Estelley and Fornoss due to their high favor of the arcane craft. The primary goal of cooperation is the universal belief in the good-ness of Magic, and that Magic can help and heal the world, while also empowering one's own. Each Religion has a slightly different view, for example Estelley aims to use Magic to become more perfect versions of the self, Fornoss aims to use Magic to emancipate them from their self-proclaimed repressed positions in the world, and Aldurists see Magic as a ladder to power. They all in essence come together to fight for the rights of Mages, to allow Magic to be more openly taught, and to combat Purism in the world.
Transhuman Cabal
- Members: Draconism, Evolism, Aldurism
- The Transhuman Cabal contains faiths that each have a slightly different interpretation and application of the concept of "evolving" past the organic limitations imposed by creation itself. Draconist faithful are inspired by control over creation particles and biological design by Dragons to seek to overcome inherent weaknesses. Evolists use the power of Demons to overcome the limitations of creation, while the Aldurists use Magic. The Transhuman Cabal in general aims for research, discovery, and deployment of various techniques to manipulate the organic condition of mortality for the better of all living things in the world.
Glories Cabal
- Members: Draconism, Estelley, Aldurism
- The Glories Cabal centers around the idea that the world is in a somewhat stagnant technological and ideological state, brought about by the great "resets" of the Void Invasions. They believe that a wealth of hidden knowledge exists all over the world waiting to be found, and to be used to benefit the people of the world. Their aim is to re-discovering lost Draconist artifacts and sites, knowledge from the old destroyed Allorn Empire, and discovering the various mysteries of the Veil and the Veilwalkers, through the exploration of Magic.
Dominion Cabal
- Members: Unionism, Evolism, Aldurism
- The Dominion Cabal is one of ruthless control and power, one that proclaims the pre-eminence of the powerful and the subservience of the weak through the various applications of dogma. For Unionism, this centers around diplomatic and political control, using wit and tact to outsmart enemies, and to subject others to one's will. For Evolism, this means bending Demons to one's will and using them to control others. For Aldurists, this means using Magic to exert influence. The Dominion Cabal members equally cannot stand each other, because they always seek to empower themselves at the expense of others, but also seek refuge in working with one another, as each faith applies their belief onto a different niche of power acquisition, allowing them to help each other in their respective fields.
Purism Cabal
- Members: Unionism, Draconism, Fornoss, Khama
- The Purism Cabal is directly opposed to the Arcana Cabal, in that it unifies those Religions that have Purist interpretations in a common hatred or at the very least chauvinistic dislike of Magic and all things Magical. For Unionism and Fornoss this mostly expresses itself through support of the Lothar Order and other purist organizations, while Khama aims more for a social form of revenge and punishment for the Magical crimes of the past, and Draconism takes a more ideological position of considering Magic a corrosive force that must be so tightly regulated that it creates a constant median that never increases beyond an acceptable minimum. The individual faiths may disagree on what exactly to do with Mages, for example some Unionists and Khamists may believe in death as a final answer, while Fornoss and Draconists mostly seek to rob Mages of their Magic and not kill them. Regardless, whatever the application, Purism is a minority in the world, and so this Cabal stands up for each other when provoked.
Brilliance Cabal
- Members: Estelley, Evolism, Khama
- The Brilliance Cabal is a unity of Religions that seeks a greater understanding of existence, the world, and life itself by achieving a higher level of enlightenment and arguably detachment from the world. While Estelley and Evolism have inherent greedy and selfish elements within their dogma, they both also contain the elements of a form of ascetic understanding of the fabric of existence, to become a more perfect scholar or philosopher, and to be rid of the earthly limitations and constraints that make the mind act on impulses rather than true understanding.
Dewa Cabal
- Members: Estelley, Evolism, Aldurism
- The Dewa Cabal contains elements of the Religions both responsible for the colossal suffering of the Dewamenet Empire and the inheritor Asha, and the greatest benefactors of those events. These faithful have come together through a form of collective guilt and reckoning with the past, and a genuine attempt to right the wrongs of the past through acts of kindness and karma in the spirit of Khama's own beliefs. Khamists are very wary of them, because they do not outright convert to the Khama faith, but apply aspects of its dogma through secular understandings. Still, Dewa Cabal supporters have brought about some meaningful changes to the poor conditions that many Asha still live in, and undo millennia of hurt.
Vilegod Cabal
- Members: Every Religion except Draconism
- The Vilegod Cabal contains members of every Religion except Draconism, all unified in a singular distaste for the privileged position of the Dragons in relation to the creation of the world. They reject the reverting of the Denial of Immortality in which the Dragons unilaterally declared to be in charge of life on the world of Aloria again, and reject the moral high ground the Dragons assume while they ascend their ivory thrones and lord over all other Religions, at least in their eyes. The Vilegod Cabal wants to not necessarily destroy Draconism, but to take from the Dragons the aspects of creation that they hoard for themselves and refuse to let other Gods have access to, and to allow other Religions to be truly on even odds with Draconism by sharing the powers of creation particles and life itself to Gods of other Religions.
