The book is bound in wood and leather, with steel clamps to allow it open on hinges and lock in the corner. No lettering is seen on the front cover, but a hammer has been burned into it. The book is rather small, but the bindings are thick.

If the particular crime is committed against a noble, the punishment is doubled.
If the punishment is above 20 nights in jail, the punishment becomes execution.

Any and all arrests are to be written up into a report and given to the commander, the format is as follows:

Guard Name & Code Number:
Prisoners Name:
Date:
Report:
(All guards will be given a code number)

Councillors and royalty enjoy immunity to the law, so if you find a councillor breaking a major law, you are to immediately report it to the commander or commissioner. They will bring it before the council, chancellor or emperor. You are to do nothing else.

Insubordination among the city guards results in punishment. In most cases this results in demotion, dejection from the guard for in severe or repeated cases, execution.

Sabotage among the guards will result in execution for treason.

Further Notes

If you find a citizen with weapons, ask them to hide them from the public and stop disrupting the public order. Disruptions of public order may result in 3 nights spent in jail.

If a vampire approaches you and asks for the cure, you are to give it to them. Otherwise, they are to be executed.

Mekett, Maiar, Dakkar, Tigrans, Yanar, Avarr, Ur and Qadir are not recognized as citizens, even if they own a house. They have no right to a trial. Humans, Elves and Dwarves have the right to a trial. Orcs may commute their jail sentence to military service for the Regalian state.

All prisoners who are Regalian citizens must be treated with the decency and respect they deserve based on their crime.

If a noble is arrested, pay extra care to properly treat the noble and avoid public display.

Ducal families enjoy semi-law immunity called Ducal Semi-Immunity.This means although they are not immune to the law, they can only be arrested when at least one other Ducal family supports their arrest. Ducal families are counted as Duke, Duchess and children and spouse — not uncles, aunts, grandparents and cousins. And as per usual, every noble rank should be treated with respect and silk gloves, though counts have no form of immunity for anything.

All official guards will be given a guard outfit and weapon. Take care of these. Impostors should be arrested as major thieves.
