Games are played for sport, leisure, and sometimes, revenge across [[Aloria]] on a daily basis. These pastimes are played by all levels of society, whether they be peasants drinking after a long day’s work, merchants meeting to finalize a business deal or nobles lounging all day in the sun.
Card and Drinking Games are forms of Recreation most commonly turned toward the common people, and often played in seedier places of the world as a result. They tend to test all the skills of an individual, or just their wits.

Recreation has always been a part of civilization across Aloria. While some forms of exercising the mind, soul and body have been lost over time, such as those created by the Seraph and the Third Civilization, others have been passed on throughout generations and remain played to this day. Some forms of Recreation are seen as high profile, significant tests of skill. Others are luck-based, for a mere child to play. Today, there are many games in Aloria played on at all levels of society for leisure, fun, or to just beat that smug idiot in the tavern who somehow always has a winning hand.
