Aedan Thirun? Taran? Nyxil? Draconism Daiana Cinerius? Khama Khannar Mauthek? Aldurism Catheron? Apotheon?

Unionist Godborn

Unionist Godborn share two below listed common mechanics across all types, in addition to a single unique mechanic specific to their type.

Light
Manipulator
You can produce bright lights in your hands, at your fingertips, or in the air that will light up large areas like rooms or large open caverns. This light can be used to make an area that is conventionally dark as night appear bright as day, but does not have any Combat applications, and some Magical forms of darkness overrule Light Manipulation.
Emotion
Sense
You can sense the emotional states of others, even when they are trying to hide it with their expression or body language. This will not detail why or how they came to such an emotion, you will just be able to feel it by looking at them. You can also try to telepathically heighten or lessen these emotions, though it is up to the other person whether this succeeds.

Nolven

Nolven is a refracted entity of the Fornoss god Aedán that disavowed Fornoss and joined with Unionism as the God of art & culture, and crusade & iconoclasm. Nolven is equal parts poetic, artistic, thoughtful, war-like, wroth, and with a temper. Due to his nature of being made from Aedán's being, he is prone to the same sin of lust that Aedán has. Novlen seeks out beautiful women to share the night with, which usually results in the conception of Nolven Godborn, which he then abandons to their mother as he moves on to his divine duties, or other women.

Nolven Godborn carries a great deal of expectation from Unionist society, who see them as an extension of his crusading themes. Nolven Godborn are commonly expected to be pious and holy warriors, either entering service as Knights or defenders of the faith. Even Nolven born into poor families can often count on the Unionist church to pay for their education as knights. Many Nolven can also be found in the direct service of the Imperial Guard, or government official bodyguards. Nolven Godborn who fail to do any protective work, are looked down upon.

Dual
Identity
You exist as two polar versions of yourself, one inspired by war and crusades, and one inspired by art and culture. While you are out of combat and with no Abilities on Cooldown, you can change between Proficiency spreads. Further rules can be found on the Dual Identity Page.

Caan

Caan is an Breizh God of Magic, having joined the Unionist pantheon. Caan is generally considered melancholic and unapproachable, making many uneasy around his excessively stoic and dispassionate demeanor. Yet, it is undeniable that Caan is perhaps one of the most forwardly beautiful Gods that live exclusively among mortals, with many trying to capture his affection. Occasionally this succeeds, and Caan breaks his demeanor to be a loving partner for a summer before eventually being subsumed with work and disappearing, leaving behind a Caan Godborn.

Caan Godborn generally expects to become strong Mages or join the Aelrrigan Order. Especially the Unionist mage population looks to Caanborn as their sword and shield in defense of the Empire's Purist factions, particularly the Lothar. Due to the strong juxtaposition of Caan Godborn's Magic and Nolven Godborn's martial skill, the two are often seen as thematic rivals, reflecting the oppositions within the Empire between traditional martial forces, and the new-age appeal of Magic and its usage in the military and Empire.

Magic
Sight
You are blind, but use Magic to see. Due to Magic sight, you are able to understand objects and shapes better than others, and can see around objects. This cannot be used in Combat, but during Events, this may result in special Action Rolls that only you have access to, or additional information being given to you that others without Magic Sight cannot perceive, because they lack eyes in Magicether.

Morgan

Morgan is the schismatic God of skepticism and the danger of the corrupting elements of power. Morgan as a God does not appear to have relations with mortals, rather, fragments of his heritage can be found in his descent. Morgan had over 20 known and unknown affairs outside of his legal marriage, offspring that continued to create more offspring and so on. When a child who is a distant descendant is born as a Morgan Godborn, this is usually an event of horror, as the child is born with snakes for hair, and deemed a Morgant Curse.

Morgan Godborn usually has a difficult life, because schismatic tolerance for the Unionist splinter groups is not always found. Even to those who see Morgan as a God, many engage in fear-worship, not worship out of love for any particular qualities Morgan has. To see a child born of Morgan's divine inheritance, always carries with it the expectation that this child will be some kind of monster, or have inherent evil or corrupting qualities. This is not true, but prophetically ends up becoming true because of the cruelty such a child faces.

Curse
Master
You are exceptionally skilled at the application of Curses, and also have some natural protections against them. While Cursing someone, the natural requirement to lift those Curses for example number of Mages with X Magic Proficiency Investment, doubles. Similarly, for Curses applied to you, the cleansing requirement is halved, and you also count as one of the people capable of lifting the Curse.

Belialus

Belialus is a Demon of the Abyss, one which has sought out Unionism in an attempt to join the faith, accepting the dogma and serving the Everwatcher's vision on its terms. Belialus is a God of the Evintarian Schism which believes that society as a whole should advance not only materially and spiritually, but metaphysically through contact with Demons and Magic to overcome otherwise natural limitations. Belialus's children are not born through conventional contact but by the use of something called Divine Countenance.

When a child of Belialus is born, to their parents and those of Evintarian beliefs, this is usually a blessing. Belialus offers child-birth to those who are unable to for whatever reason, whether it is barren-ness same-sex incompatibility, or solitude. Outsiders however see Belialus Godborn as nothing but Demon-children, no better than Arkenborn but only protected by technical legal distinctions between Demon-spawn and Evintarian theological concepts. Belialus Godborn are not treated like Arkenborn legally, even if Purists would like them to be.

Demon
Kindred
Demons see you as one of them, despite not being a Demon yourself. During Duke Summonings, the Duke will not use anything you say against you or as extra cost. You can Veilwalk without negative consequences, and Demons cannot possess you, or consume your soul under any circumstances, meaning you have some natural protections against Demons that other mortals do not.

Estelley Godborn

Estelley Godborn share two below listed common mechanics across all types, in addition to a single unique mechanic specific to their type.

Light
Natured
Marken
You are a Marken by nature, meaning from birth, but unlike conventional Marken, you are fully in control of yourself and never transform involuntarily. Anytime you do transform, you are still able to speak in humanoid languages. You however do not gain access to Marken Mechanics unless fully Transformed and lose them when transforming back into non-Marken form.

Sapphora

Sapphora was once the Goddess of war and conquest for the Estelley pantheon but has since become a Goddess of popularity, sociability, and extroversion, acting more like a socially cohesive pseudo-leader that keeps the Estelley pantheon together despite Cemaan and Talea's harshness. Sapphora holds court in the Temple of Amontaar, where she tests the wits of her followers and seeks out those she deems suitable to produce offspring. Sapphora herself does not carry children but rather provides them through immaculate conception.

A child of Sapphora is born without religious expectations but with heavy cultural expectations. Without exception, all of Sapphora's children are born with immaculate beauty and sheer cultural influence due to the proximity of their mother, there is always an expectation that they shall become some beautiful enchantress or captivator of the imaginations and affections of the masses. They always inherit their mother's Grace Snakes, two by default, and one for each romantic partner that is held concurrently and grows from their hair.

Universal
Speech
You can understand and speak all mortal and currently practiced languages from all the corners of the world. This Mechanic does not allow the understanding, writing and reading, or speaking of ancient or otherwise dead languages, or magical languages.

Artarel

Artarel is the Goddess of law, fairness, restitution, and vengeance against evil. She is the Estelley Goddess of justice generally speaking, but uses a more repentance and trial-based form of justice. Artarel does not mingle with mortals, instead when she encounters a great deal of evil or injustice in the world, she is gripped with melancholy and grief and hews the image of a mortal she wished existed to end this injustice from marble. When she departs, Leyon appears from the moon and whispers life into the statue turning it into a flesh-and-blood Artarel Godborn.

Artarel's Godborn don't have any spiritual expectations, and to a point, it is even debatable if Artarel is even aware of what Leyon does to her statues hewn in grief at the injustices in the world. Their existence is widely known in the Estelley community, but unless one were to self-identify as one, no-one would ever know. For those who do self-identify as a child of Artarel's will, there is an expectation that they become justiciars and dealers of justice in the eyes of the Estelley moral guide or Allorn justice system.

Free
Walker
You are immune to restraints of any kind. If you are bound or shackled, they effortlessly slip off you. If you are imprisoned or locked up, you can walk through locked doors to freedom. Keep in mind, you can still be attacked while attempting to break out!

Vyrë Godborn

Vyrë is the Estelley Goddess of vast oceans and unknown depths. She is one of the few deep-sea Gods across Aloria that has joined a structured land-Religion, but still brings nautical elements to it. Vyrë occasionally seeks out sailors to whom she has taken a liking, abducting them from their ships and bringing a new Vyrë Godborn into the world, which is then left with the sailor as he is returned to the deck of his ship. Vyrë's children are sometimes called Shoalborn, due to their conception among large fish populations.

Children of Vyrë have few expectations form the Estelley faithful and the wider world, besides being pestered by the children of other ocean-Gods. Due to the expectation that Vyrë has no higher meaning of the children she births, just that she likes the look of their sailor father, the children are usually just considered a byproduct, often meant for a life of sailing, captaincy, or marine work. This is especially the case among Finul Vyrë Godborn, who end up joining the Faiaal navy in some way or another, but generally fly under the radar their whole lives.

Sea
Walker
You can breathe underwater and move with great speed (flywater Trait) while submerged and can see perfectly clearly underwater. You are also able to share your breath with one other person, though they do not become fast. This Mechanic does not grant Underwater Combat or Abilty usage.

Gilan Godborn

Gilan is the King of the Forests, the lord of the Freefolk, and the God of the Hunt and of beast dominion. Gilan is a god in the Estelley pantheon but has existed both within and on the fringes of that Religion's central dogma due to his and his followers' independent spirit. Without Gilan there is no splendor in the forests of the West, and no joy in the hunt of the many beasts that act like mortal trials. Gilan's children are not born through conventional contact but by using something called Divine Countenance.

When a child of Gilan is born, they are often referred to as the Auldwald Hunters, a great deal of expectation lies on them but not of any spiritual nature. They are expected to inherit Gilan's hunting prowess and lordship over animals, to become something in between a great hunter and a beast retainer. Especially among Selvath and other Freefolk societies, this expectation can be so severe that failing to meet some respect-worthy standard in the wild results in the rejection and expulsion of such a child.

Greater
Hunter
You are an apex hunter in the wilds, capable of greater sense of the hunt, sight, and hearing in nature. You can effortlessly capture animals in the hunt, and may receive additional benefits during Monster Hunt Events or Monster encounters in the forests of Regalia.

Fornoss

Fornoss Godborn share two below listed common mechanics across all types, in addition to a single unique mechanic specific to their type.

Element
Hearing
You can hear stories or histories from the elements, for example feeling battles that were witnessed by mountains, suffering felt by burnt forests, or cries for help carried by the wind. This cannot be used to metagame the actions of other Players, but can give you unique story insights in storied locations at the behest of an Event Dm, or Progression, or your own Lore Story writing.
Natured

Norn Godborn

Norn is the Eili Fornoss God of destines and fates, the God who is responsible for weaving the threads of future-fate for the faithful, and cutting them when they perish. Norn is very particular about who he shares the night with, as any child that is Godborn to him, is a calculated act on his part to fit a specific role in someone else's Fate. By birth, they do not know what their purpose is, because Norn has already woven their existence and meaning into the lives of others, in the hopes they act as a correction for future bad events.

Norn Godborn are as such seen among the faithful as divine corrections for bad events yet to come. Equal parts a bad omen in birth in that bad things will happen, but also a reassurance and provider of hope, that the Gods have sent something to aid. The faithful and Norn do not interfere in the raising of the child beyond what is normal, some children enter the priesthood, others the military, and others yet become politicians. They all believe that fate will eventually lead them to their purpose in life.

Long
Living
You live much longer than the average life span of your heritage. You can live up to three times as long, and you can visually stop aging at a chosen age (must be at least 21). Additionally, you are immune to non-magical diseases and Afflictions.

Halfvel Godborn

Halfvel is the Fornoss God of the hunt and fauna, but also more importantly a divine protector against the corruption. Halfvel lives among mortals to strategically protect them in places where they are most at risk of the corrupting influences of Demons. While doing so, he occasionally falls in love with the mortal locals, and sires Halfvel children with them, while their mother does not even know they shared affection with Halfvel for a time until he is already long gone, and their child is born with a glowing Arne tattoo on their back.

It should come as no surprise that Halfvel's children are considered divine protectors of the faith and shields against Demons. While Norn's Godborn are made to correct subtle events in the fates of mortals, Halfvel's Godborn are made specifically to counteract the more obvious Demonic enemies and protect the faith itself from attacks from the outside by other mortal actors. Halfvel's children as such often receive a lot of training, both in martial arts, and in practices to fight Demons and their powers.

Demon
Deterrence
You have extra protections against Demons. Demon Players only do half HP damage to you during Combat with Attack Emotes, and you are able to apply a Demon Banishment Ritual onto a building, pushing any Demon inside out, and preventing any Player Demon from entering it until you leave the building. Additionally, Demon Dukes cannot see you while you wear a cloak unless you speak its name, speak to it, or reveal yourself.

Maevrid Godborn

Maevrid was once the Dewamenet Goddess Marahmet, but she was but a mere child.Goddess during the destruction of the Dewamenet Empire. She fled north with few followers that were left, eventually entering Nordskag, where the Eili Fornoss Gods welcomed her with open arms as Maevrid, Goddess of War. She is not a Goddess of the destruction and combat of war, but of every conflict being a new unfolding story from which to learn and grow. Maevrid occasionally bonds with strong warriors on the battlefield, that she shares the night with.

Maevrid's Godborn are often born large and in charge, meaning they are stronger than the average flock of people. Maevrid's Godborn thus are naturally expected to become strong warriors, but just as many join up with day laborers, construction crews, or tavern bouncers to make use of their strength. Maevrid's children aren't expressly born with any purpose, she is just keen on the passion of battle and the feelings that endears to her fellow warriors, and so most Maevrid Godborn are just considered an unintended byproduct of those affairs.

Greater
Strength
You are stronger than the average normal person when it comes to out-of-Combat tests of strength. Whether it is in arm-wrestling, or other power competitions, you always gain bonus Dice. You can also carry much heavier loads than other normal people.

Leif Godborn

Leif is the Eili God of love and the change of seasons. He brings about the eternal cycles of the years for his followers, and endures the cycle of the sun and the moon across the sky. Leif appears especially moved by the suffering and lovelessness of places where life is hard, appearing like a warm tender sun to seek a man to produce offspring with. Leif does not carry to term, but births children by immaculate conception, and leaves them with their father as they move on the next day, pulling the sun back into the sky and chasing the moon away.

Leif's children are sometimes called Sunborn, due to the expectation that they will bring warmth and love to places that are deprived of it. While Maevrid, Helfvel and Norn's children serve often physical or intellectual services, Leif's children are expected to soothe the minds of the people spiritually and mentally. They travel the land to assuage the mental anguish of others, try to bring hope in hopeless places, and bring warmth and companiony to those who have deprived of a hug for too long, or a listening ear to their worries.

Emotion
Sense
You can sense the emotional states of others, even when they are trying to hide it with their expression or body language. This will not detail why or how they came to such an emotion, you will just be able to feel it by looking at them. You can also try to telepathically heighten or lessen these emotions, though it is up to the other person whether this succeeds.

Thirun Godborn

Thirun is the Vola Fornoss God of Magic and the Arcane, thought by the faithful to be the one who teaches them how to use Magic, and how to grow their Magical skill. Thirun punishes those who abuse or disrespect their skills, and teaches those who properly use and cherish their Magic. Thirun lays with mortals just because he wants to, and because he has a following hoping to sire his children as a sign of good will and Magical power. Thirun is a refracted God of the Pride Arken, meaning his children are sometimes mistaken for Pride Arkenborn.

Thirun's Godborn have no express expectation in Fornoss society other than being powerful Mages. If anything, there may even be a hostile expectation of them, in that a wider crowd that is not so fond of Thirun, might think of them as easy to corrupt due to the power they have. There is a natural suspicion of what they will grow up to become, and what they intend to do with all this Magical power. Some of Thirun's Godborn end up drifting into the hands of the Pride Arkenborn for this reason, and dissociate their Godborn identity.

Magic
Hunger
You hunger for Magic, never satisfied. Your Arcane Harmony increments at 5% instead of 10%, and your maximum loss is always 30% total. Additionally, you can consume Magestone just like Demons, this feels empowering and exhilarating, but this can become addictive. Finally, you cannot Magically Overload. You do have a threshold, but your body shutters your Magic before you reach it.

Aedán Godborn

Aedán was once the Eili God of culture and party, but the Eili rejected him because of his over-indulgence and dispassion towards the faithful. Since, the Vola have taken him up, and encouraged him all the more to exist in a near constant state of drunkenness and half-awareness of the world around him. He wanders from party to party, occasionally grabbing some patrons and leaving an Aedán Godborn behind. Aedán always forgets when he does this, and feels miserable in the act of unfaithfulness to Bard, which causes him to drink more.

Aedán Godborn have absolutely no expectations among the faithful. If anything, the faithful expect them to be drunken wastrels in turn, to have no ambitions in life, and to perceive day-drinking as their greatest hobby. This very likely future reality for the child is escaped only by a few mothers who decide to resist this possibility with will and might, teaching their child good manners and discipline, yet always remaining watchful for a slide into ner-do-well-er status. There are those that meet the challenge, and those who fail.

Social
Beast
You have an impossibly high tolerance for Alcohol, drinking anyone under the table, and able to make cups or glasses magically refill themselves with the God's ale. You are immune to being arrested for Low Law violations, so long as what you have done isn't annoying or cringe-inducing for the Knights to deal with. Benign crime receives just a slap on the wrist and an "oh you" from Knights.

Taran Godborn

Taran is the Vola God of beauty and perfection, specifically of the body. He is a shapeshifter God and also refracted from the Body Arken, who is considerably more wicked than Taran. Taran is chasing standards of perfection both in Godhood and mortals and so occasionally when he encounters a mortal that he is struck by, whether by beauty or organic symmetry, he will attempt to grow closer to them while shapeshifting. Taran never reveals himself but is also the only God that actively shapeshifts to suit the mortal only.

Taran Godborn has somewhat of a dubious reputation among the faithful. While Taran is generally pretty benign even for a Vola God, his children are seen as unwelcome shapeshifters and creatures of trickery and deceit. Mortal parents of Taran Godborn often do not know their child is a Taran Godborn until they start shapeshifting or transforming into random creatures, which can happen fairly early on in their life, frightening them. This also leads Taran Godborn to sometimes be mistaken for Fenra's skinwalkers, who are not Godborn.

Shape
Shifter
You are a Shapeshifter, and have the ability to change your appearance and parts of your body at will. Shapeshifting is a complex process and has several rules associated with it, so the full explanation of this Mechanic can be found on the Shapeshifting Page.

Nyxil Godborn

Nyxil is the Vola Goddess of the treacherous seas, and of unpredictable waves and storms that ravage the seafarers that dare to venture from land. Nyxil is the Goddess of trickery and manipulation, but occasionally she takes a fancy to a fair woman living on the shore. During dark thunderous storms, she arrives on land and may spend the night to sire a Nyxil Godborn, before returning to the sea. Nxyil sometimes shapeshift to disguise herself when entering an unsuspecting hamlet, but also frequently appears to mortals as herself.

Nyxil's Godborn isn't beheld with as much suspicion as the other Vola-inclined Godborn, but they certainly have some expectations that are considered negative. Nyxil's Godborn are considered the Raging Stormborn, those with a temperament of the unruly sea, and a willfulness rivaled only by the greatest thunderstorms, with the destructive capacity to boot. There are plenty of tales of Nyxil Godborn using the powers of the weather to blow away wooden hovels in fits of rage or tantrum, only to return to a normal mood just as quickly.

Storm
Caller
You can control elements of the weather and summon the storm. You can control the wind to move objects around, and the weather around you reflects your temper, with ill temper invoking thunderous weather and dark clouds overhead. Your movement is graced with static discharges.
