==Rules related to Server Identity==
==Rules related to Alternate Accounts==
* Do not build overly non-medieval builds. Create a ticket if you’re unsure if your build is acceptable.
* A '''main account''' is defined as the account which a player spends the most time on the server and is used as the name when referring to a particular player.
* Do not build a box-structure or something equally uncreative.
* An '''alternate account''' (alt-account or alt for short) is an account which has been used to log into the server by the same player using a main account in the last 30 days.
* Do not make your faction entirely unraidable when it is above ground, not limited to but including sun-roofs or full encasing.
* An '''alt-faction''' is defined as a faction being led by an alt account.
* You are allowed to make floating builds as long as they are easily raidable.(Reachable via enderpearls or elytra from the ground.)
* Do not use Alts to artificially increase mob spawns in your area.
* Do not use Alts to spy on enemy factions, steal items, gain access, or perform actions you would not be able to on your main account.
* Do not use Alts to avoid Server Punishments. This will result of re-instatement of the original punishment length or longer depending on severity.
* Do not use Alts to spam rewards from Quests or other free item systems.
* Alt-Account in Factions Rules:
:* A single player can hold up to 3 factions maximum (one main and two alt-factions).
:* The maximum number of alt-accounts a faction may have at any given time is 6. Exceeding this will result in the alt-accounts being banned and land unclaimed.
:* The number of alt-accounts in a faction may not exceed twice the number of main accounts at any given time (2 alts per main with a maximum of 6 alts total).
:* Alt-accounts in a faction must have a title designating them as an alt.

==Rules related to Alternate Accounts==

* Do not use Alts to spy on enemy factions or steal items.
* Any trap that involves a portal must include 2 visible portal blocks on the entrance, unobstructed from both sides.
* Do not use Alts to own multiple shops in /tp market.
* Excessive portal traps around a build are not permitted.
* Do not avoid Server Punishments with Alts.
* A trap is defined as an enclosure in which a player cannot freely exit.
* Do not use Alts to spam rewards from Quests or other reward or free item systems.
* Alts may exist in other factions for social reasons (like chat), but may not be sold for power.
* A faction may never exceed 50% Alt population of total. See Claim Abuse Rules below.

==Rules related to Faction War==
==Rules related to Markets==
* There is no demand limit for peace. However, there are guidelines which can be followed, though these are not enforced by the Rules:
* Owning a market shop without any chest shops inside is not permitted.
* A good tribute would be 300 Regals plus 50 Regals per member.
* Players are only allowed 1 shop. Any alt shops will be swiftly removed with no refunds.
* A sum of regals is not the only peace demand that can be made, factions may also surrender resources, or anything else that they have to offer.
* No beds, end portals, nether portals, item frames or excessive use of banners or armor stands, etc. as this will help with reducing lag.
* There are still some rules related to warfare and peace. These are not guidelines, and are enforced by the Rules:
* Shops will need at least 1 stocked shop lock inside the market region from the Shop owner.
* After peace has been accepted, there is a 10 days enforced truce between the warring factions, though can be extended longer by the involved factions if they want.
* Any chest in the market that is not stocked with items for more than 1 week is at liberty to be removed by staff.
* Do not use Glow Ink Sacs on signs in the market. These cause FPS drops for everyone that turns towards their direction.
* The owner of a shop breaking a rule will be mailed. If the shop has not been fixed within 1 week, the shop will be forcefully unrented without refund.

* Do not break Minecraft mechanics through plugin usage or vice versa.
* For more in-depth Roleplay related Rules, consult the [[Roleplay_Rules|Roleplay Rules]].
* Do not misuse plugins in way they were intended to be used. For example, stair glitching or locking every block of a build, etc. If you’re unsure whether or not something related to a plug-in is legal, please contact staff through a ticket.
* Do not misuse Faction Permissions in ways they were not intended to be used.
* Do not create traps that one cannot escape from. Killing the player is a valid means of ‘escape’.
* Do not create traps involving portals or invisible portals to capture or kill players.  Some examples include; portals leading into fall traps, lava pits, block walls, or rooms created with the sole purpose of killing players before they load in.
# A portal hidden in the ground by a slab or other means that teleports people into any of the traps listed.
# A portal that is advertised as being safe that leads into an unsafe environment or a gank room.
# A portal that leads to a method of instant death. This can include but is not limited to fall traps, instant harming potion rooms, or lava.
# A portal that leads to death over time, including wither, water, poison, or any other means of damage over time in Minecraft.
# A portal that leads into any room that you cannot escape from, i.e. a room that keeps you constantly moving.
# A portal that leads to another portal that traps you inside a portal block, making it unable to escape.

* This rule does not apply to portals that lead into faction facilities.
* Do not AFK grind McMMO skills.

==Rules related to Faction Power and Claim==
* Every Player is entitled to 1 Alt Account per Player per Faction. Having more than 1 of your alts in a single faction will result in removal of the surplus Alts. This does not apply to alt factions.
* Every Faction should never have more than 50% of its members as Alts, unless it’s an alt faction.(See details on alt factions below.) Exceeding the limit will result in the Faction being disbanded.
* Any person in a form of co-habitation (marriage/room-mates etc.) is still allowed to have one Alt. Please communicate such a status to staff when relevant.
* Extreme Alt-abuse within factions (padding huge numbers of power claim with alts) will result in the offending accounts being banned and the faction in question being disbanded.
* It is illegal to be overclaimed (thus have more land claim than possible) by more than 50%. Factions should stick to Power Limits. This does not apply to alt factions; the maximum allowed size for an alt faction is 225 chunks.
* It is illegal to sell or buy faction membership just to boost Faction Power.
* Factions that are over claimed will have their overclaim unclaimed without warning.
* You cannot claim land for the purpose of creating a raid portal.
* Factions that exist solely as a market faction are not permitted.
* For more specific rules on Faction Claim Abuse, please refer to our Wiki Page: [[https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Faction_Claim_Abuse]].

==Alt-Factions Rules==
* Each player may only have one Alt Faction.
* Alt factions, including darkroom factions, may claim a maximum of 225 chunks
* Alt factions (Darkrooms, storages, farms, etc) are only permitted in the ocean surrounding Essalonia. Inlets, lakes, and other bodies of water aside from the ocean may not be used for Alt Factions.
* Alt factions may not be used for markets. Please read rules related to Faction Shops & Markets below
* Darkroom facilities may exist underground but can only be claimed if they are underneath the main faction
* Any alt faction must have “AF” in the name at the end. For example: TestAF.
* Alt factions are allowed to be composed entirely of alternate accounts
* Alt factions are allowed to have buildings above their alt faction as long as it follows our builds rules. I.e ships, man-made-Islands that touch the ocean floor, pearlable floating islands, castles, small structures, etc.
* Daughter factions of bigger factions owned by an Alt are not Alt Factions.
* Daughter factions function as an extension of a parent faction, containing active members which the parent faction does not contain room for.
