Aloria is rich in both fauna and flora. This page specifically is dedicated to all recorded, extinct or still living, plants that grow in the world of Aloria. All plants are split into their relevant categories. Keep in mind that this list is not final and will be added to when necessary. As a player you may claim one of the plants and try to write a Player Lore-Write me, though remind yourself to consult Lore staff about any relevant descriptions!

Black Orchid	The Black Orchid is a flower that has long been a part of the Kilarallis culture. Once thought to be a symbol and servant of the goddess Alu, the shifting political situation wiped the negative association with the plant away. Now it stands as a useful flower in the creation of dyes and as a positive religious symbol to Kilarallisians.

Chrysant Flower	The beautiful Chrysant Flower was once one of the most populous flowers of Hadar. The plant commonly grew in southern Hadar and appeared as an important part of Nessrassian festivals and Allar traditions across the island groups. By the time the Chrysant War had come to an end however, the flower was transformed into a symbol of victory for the Regalian Empire and a painful reminder of the past for the Allar and Slizzar. To this day, the Regalian Empire proudly uses the flower as a constant reminder of their victory, despite the fact that the Regalians nearly drove the flower to extinction following the war.

Dragonflower	A staple in Farah’deen and Daendroqean cooking, the Dragonflower has wormed its way to fame both for its practical use in the common kitchen, and its stunning appearance. What started as a mere oasis flower has become an iconic spice among many, along as a beloved prize-garden gem.

Fireweed	Fireweed is the name for a fiery plant that originated on the Daendroc supercontinent which has since been transplanted to regions of New Ceardia and Farah’deen. Useful as an antiseptic once distilled, it has been known in the driest points of the year to burst into flames and further spread its seeds out across the area.

Fly Orchid	A delicate and rather unassuming plant, the Fly Orchid was once a common, ordinary piece of flora. When the Cataclysm came, it was granted a strange new ability. Found out in fields, Ithanian vineyards, and farms across the continent, it releases sweet scents to attract insects to it’s center and away from other plants. It can also be used to create a useful bug poison is broken down.

Lady’s Shine	Known throughout Aloria as a miracle herb, Lady’s Shine is an especially renowned flower in all Altalar cultures. It is praised for being an incredibly potent and effective counteraction to virtually all poisons, when used in the potion, Avetyaben’s Grace. Lady’s Shine is notably glorified throughout many of Aloria’s religions as a spiritual flower, although its history and properties are altered to cater to the followers each time.

Magebane	Magebane is a blue tulip-like flower with magic-suppressing abilities similar to that of lapis lazuli. This flower, delicate in how it must be cultivated, is grown for Magebane Tea in many parts of Aloria. It is only found naturally in Etosil.

Nightshade	Nearly every assassin and aristocrat has heard of the deadly plant known as Nightshade. Even fewer still know that the plant originated out of Farah’deen. Originally kept as a houseplant for the Sultan’s palace, Nightshade has developed and adapted to more temperate environments, and is commonly seen growing in the wild, though it will not grow in freezing temperatures.

Ruby Flower	The Ruby Flower is a common sight to both Nelfin and Humans. It is the most elementary herb used in the healing arts, capable of alleviating a wide variety of illnesses. The flower is a type of marigold with a deep red color, said to be blessed by the Altalar deity Orelaben. Today, the flower is heavily cultivated and used by all healers.

Dragonet Apple	A small, sour fruit, the Dragonet Apple is commonly found growing in the trees of the Anglian regions of Regalia. Found to the north of Regalia in the Anglian region of the Empire, the Dragonet Apple is a small sour fruit. Most popular as the key ingredient to a local cider, it is often an acquired taste, but remains popular as an ethnic food as quirkily original as the Anglian people.

Drachenwald Nuttegg	A small gold colored nut that grows on an golden barked tree, the Drachenwald Nuttegg is a highly sought after ingredient. Growing in the Drachenwald region of Regalia, it was nearly eradicated during the Drachenwald Crisis. It’s main use is as ingredient in many exquisite and succulent dishes, and due to its elusive nature, is mostly consumed by the rich.

Lanarra's Hand	A sweet tangy fruit from New Ceardia that grows on a short tree, Lanarra’s Hand takes its name from Old Gods worshipers. These same worshippers also use the fruit prolifically as a part of their worship in the form of incense or for self-decoration as a perfume.

Sunsa Tree	The Sunsa Tree stands as one of the few trees to survive the devastation arot during the Cataclysm on Ulaan-Ujuur while growing freely in northern Muird. A boreal tree, it is known for its strength and durability against the elements. To the Kifchun Nomads, it serves as one of their only sources of wood, while to the Tarchlann it is a commonplace tree found north in Aulcia territory. It’s sap is useful in pastes and healing solvents.

Bushberry	Angle Bushberries are small, red fruits that grow on the similarly named Bushberry Bush. They have long been apart of Ailor culture, especially the Alt-Anglian culture and can be found growing in the Anglian region of the Regalian Archipelago. Serving as the main ingredient in many baked goods, drinks, and decorating Unionist ceremonies, the plant remains a local and national favorite for their abundance, flavor, and simple beauty.

Cloudberry	Native to the mountain ranges of Daendroc, the Cloudberry is an ingredient commonly used by many Daendroque chefs and culinary specialists. Cloudberry is typically added as a garnish to many meals. While frequently used by those native to the mountain regions of Daendroc, the Cloudberry has begun to be imported by foreign kitchens seeking to add more exotic flavor to their dishes. Due to the Cloudberry’s relatively unknown presence in other areas of Aloria, it makes a delightful surprise to the plates of foreign patrons who visit Daendroque restaurants, especially in the cultural mixing pot of Regalia.

Falconet's Jewel	The bitter-tasting Falconet’s Jewel is a seasonal berry that is highly sought by many once spring arrives. Originating in the high ranges of the Montania region of the Regalia Archipelago and discovered thanks to falcons, it is just as popular with them as with chefs across Aloria.

Ogrebait	Ogrebait is a large, leafy shrub native to the lowlands of High Trollar and its surrounding territories. While originally heralded by Ogre hunters for its ability to attract and tranquilize the beasts through consumption, today it finds its common use upon the shelves of healers and in potions. When steeped to allow the plant’s oils to seep out, the resulting liquid produces a relaxing, sleepy effect in patients, and is used commonly as a stress-reliever or sleeping aid.

Saikh Bush	The Saikh bush is one of the few plants that grows plentifully on Muird and Ulaan-Ujuur, far to the east of Aloria. It plays a key role in the lives of the Kifchun Nomads, who have used it as long as recorded history tells. The berries it produces primarily serve as an ingredient in their cooking. The Nomads use it as battle paint on their warriors and chieftains, and the Muirdians also use it as face paint.

Chokeweed	Chokeweed considered by the people of Lusits to be a pest and as a blessing to the Lothar who use it against them. Once an ordinary weed, it has since been transformed by the magic and will of a Nenyarina into a formidable agricultural weapon of the Lothar. Stocky and flat in shape, it is the labyrinth of roots underneath the soil which provide great nuisance to the Daendroquean farmers given the weed’s proficiency to absorb moisture from the ground and “choke” the crops around it.

Corpse Weed	With long, slimy tendrils that can reach up to a hundred feet in length, Corpse Weed is most commonly found in colonies in the coastal waters of Daendroc. Its colonies are often referred to as forests of the sea, due to the thick, long leaves that easily hide obstructions and the sea predators that lurk within. Corpse Weed is most commonly consumed by Maiar as they are the only race that can ingest the plant raw.

Empairina	Empairina, native to Drowda, is a fern used both for nourishment and dim lighting. Its creation was at the time of the Void Invasions, when magic spilled into the land and corrupted this common plant. Since then, it has flourished on Drowda and has even spread to different parts of the world, grown in places where the sun cannot reach.

Shadow Weed	Native to the tainted and blackened forests of Drowda, Shadow Weed is a violet-colored weed which has a variety of uses. Shadow Weed grows exclusively in dark and dimmed areas, occasionally discovered in underground caverns and caves. Originally reaped by the Elves of Drowda for its healing properties, they soon discovered Shadow Weed’s additional uses.

Toughgrass	Toughgrass is a commonplace grass found across Ulaan-Ujuur and eastern Muird, where both groups have a variety of uses for it. For the Kifchun Nomads, the plant is the main animal fodder for their herds of wild beasts and serves an artistic purpose for their weavers as baskets, rope, and other small items. To the Muirdians, it is not only an animal fodder, but also a mild muscle relaxant once distilled down. Only in recent times have these two views on its use helped both sides benefit and develop more intriguing ways to use the plant.

Hempaben's Herb	Hempaben's Herb is an immune-strengthening plant that grows all across Aloria that is thought of as a blessing from Estel by the Altalar. It has made its mark in healing clinics, and can be found in good supply on the shelves of common people.

Dagruhn's Clove	Dagruhn’s Clove is one of the only plants known to grant boons to those who need an extra edge in combat. Originally used frequently by the more malicious Altalar warriors, the official use of this Clove was discontinued at the end of the Cataclysm, when the Faith of Estel cast out those who would worship the Vices. Now, it is used by Avanthar as well as many humans who wish to reap the benefits of the plant’s stimulating advantages.

Iceroot	A common root found in Ellador, ice root is an unusual plant with the ability to make one warm upon consumption. Named for its ability to grow in extremely cold climates, the ice root is not only used for medicinal purposes, but will sometimes be added to drinks, giving them an added spice. The root itself can grow in almost any environment, but grows best in Elladorian soil, and ice roots grown with soil from other continents usually taste rotten or lose their ability to warm one up. Ice root is quite popular with healers and cooks, and can be bought for a low price at most markets.

Modrá’s Root	Modra Root is a gnarled tuber that grows on rocky mountainsides in the cold northern climates of Jorrsundr and Ellador. This root can be utilized as a foodstuff, but is most often used as a method of tattooing. A notable consequence of using Modra Root for tattoos is the warmth that spreads to the surrounding skin.

Wormfern	The small silvery-green swirled plant known as Wormfern has been farmed for years, dating back to the arrival of Elven slavers to Ithania. After the magical uproar of the Cataclysm, the plant’s minty taste wasn’t its only asset. Against Vampires, ingested Wormfern easily causes severe sickness.

Bloodthorn Vine	The Bloodthorn Vine found on Hadar has served as a minor defense against the unwary to the island chain’s dangers. However, after a Slizzar alchemist unlocked it’s hallucinogenic properties, it became an important plant to the Slizzar people. Unfortunately, the plant was all but extinct following the Regalian bombardment of the continent. Nevertheless, the Bloodthorn Vine has begun to find its way back into the ecosystem of Hadar, and is even able to be found on the eastern coast of Teled Methen.

Roughvine	Recently discovered, Roughvine is a plant found to grow in central Faradh within the borders of the Hadravian State and the Osmaniliyye Caliphate. A thick, heavy vine with a dense inside, it is most commonly used as an ingredient in regional soups. With the recent Hadravian War in the region, the plants numbers were reduced. It continues to recover in the wake of this tumultuous war that devastated the region.

Stranglers	Stranglers are carnivorous plants that emit a strong, sweet scent to attract prey. Unlike most plants, Stranglers are epiphytes, meaning that they growing in the air attached to trees as opposed to being rooted in the ground. The most notable features of this plant are its bulbous flower and its tendrils, which hang down from the plant and allows it to capture its prey.

Brightmoss	Brightmoss is a plant found deep within the cave systems of Ellador. The plant is unique in that it is able to grow in complete darkness. It glows with a pale green light, hence the name. The moss is often used by Dwarves as natural guide lights or consumed by Dakkars for ritualistic purposes.

Dúllci Cane	Beginning during the rise of Elven Civilization, the Dúllci Cane has had a long history as a popular plantation crop. After the Empire fell, the remaining Nelfin took up the reins and continued to farm and process the plant. Primarily grown to be processed into sugar or used in special local Elven drinks, it remains an incredibly important crop for the various nations of Daendroc.

Garuda Stalk	Hailing from the distant Yang-Tzu Islands, the Garuda Stalk remained largely unknown to wider Aloria until recently. The plant was found years ago and both groups of natives to the Islands quickly made use of it. Possessing a dual function as a delicacy and a poison, it has the ability to blind those who taste or who are touched by its bark and plant juices.

Dorinn Rye	Dorinn Rye is the trademark grain of the region of Dorinn in the Regalian Archipelago. Used both in baked goods as well as various namesake alcohols, Dorinn Rye has grown in popularity tremendously since it was first harvested back in 50 AC. While it is not as accessible or widely available as Anglian Wheat, Dorinn Rye is grown in both Dorinn and Ithania.

Anglian Wheat	Anglian Wheat is the staple crop of the Anglian people of the Regalian Archipelago, and one of the most commonly exported wheats worldwide. Generations ago, they tamed and grew this wild grain until it now stands as one of the most prominent symbols of the Regalian Empire. Sporting a rich, golden color that has been transplanted across the world, the wheat now stands as one of the staple crops of the untold thousands of hard-working farmers across the Empire.

Evokai Oats	Evokai Oats are a recently discovered species of cereal grain that originates from Evokai. It has been the staple grain of the region for years, serving as a food for wild animals that roam the islands as well as the inhabitants themselves. Originally it was believed to be a purple grass species, though upon closer inspection the plant was discovered to have seeds that were tasty and good for grinding into meal. The crop, first grown by the researchers that stayed in Murlóch Harbor, was quickly traded from there as an oddity due to the grain’s pale purpureus color. Since its introduction to the world, Evokai Oats have been quickly picked up by farmers in more temperate regions, both for its health benefits and appeal for children who love the bright color.

Dulofall	Dulofall, sometimes called the Dulôte Curse, is a parasitic fungal affliction caused by a magic-powered blood curse, though it is often also classified as an illness or disease. Dulofall shares similarities with Vampirism, but is primarily a fungal disease which changes the host both physically and mentally. Dulofall is highly infectious and often difficult to discover due to its very hidden nature; carriers of the disease do not appear naturally ill or otherwise sickly to behold. On the contrary, the infestation cleverly alters Yanar carriers to become more attractive to maximize its ability to spread. Dulofall affects plant-life most severely; Yanar act as carriers, but the fungal spores can also affect any other race ranging from Humanoid to Dargan and even Mekket, with the exception of the Lampar. In addition, there is no known cure for Dulofall. Being infected with Dulofall isn’t necessarily a death sentence, but being exposed as infected always results in social rejection and isolation.

Eluhwa	Eluhwa is an extensively farmed and edible mushroom that grows on the tainted land of Drowda. Eaten by the local wildlife and Drowdar of the continent, it has a hearty, earthen taste. This unique ingredient is able to be used in Praeter Stew to negate the effects of the unhealthy fungi, as well as to increase the physical endurance of the consumer.

Honey Ball	Honey Balls have long been a plant native to Drowdar, Ellador and Fendarfelle. Growing on the forest floor, they are often filled with a sweet sugary goo. Known to the wider world when Fendarfelle was reached, settlements make good money selling the fungi for Regalian nobility to use.

Praeter Stew Horn	A fungus regularly brewed to form stews and soups by the Drowdar of Drowda, Praeter Stew Horn has the ability to weaken any who eat it raw. However, once made into Praeter Stew, it gradually grants endurance and immunity to it's raw affects, making it a very important plant in the diet of the embattled Drowdar.

Shademarsh Mushroom	The Shademarsh Mushroom is an unassuming brown-capped mushroom that can be found growing in swamplands on several continents. Once a harmless fungus, the magical energy that came with the Cataclysm twisted it into a dark poison. When consumed or inhaled, Shademarsh exhausts the heart and mind to a dangerous extent until the poison is purged from the body or cured.

Theomar’s Fungus	Named after the larger than life Theomar the Holy of the Regalian Empire, Theomar’s Fungus is a plant commonly used in alleviating the effects of poisons and toxins. Naturally found across the Regalian Archipelago, and other lands through trade, this fungus is a cheap and basic tool used by medics and healers.
