Artifacts
Name Heartbroken
Origin House Kade
Tier Rare Tier I
Type Weapon

Heartbroken was a special weapon forged for Arch Chancellor Alexander I after the death of Emperor Allestrain I. Struck with black rage at those who had killed his closest companion, Heartbroken was a physical manifestation of that anger in the form of a holy blade created for the Second Nordskagger War. It was ultimately a briefly used blade, as Alexander I died fighting the local Velheim, but the sword was recovered alongside Alexander I’s body, but was not buried with him. This is a Knight Artifact, obtained as a gift from the rank-up process.

Appearance

A normal sized sword, Heartbroken is notable for its blessing by the Unionist faith, as well as its intense design. The silvered blade guard is in the shape of a roaring, or perhaps, screaming, Dragon, with a Blacksteel blade emerging from between its open jaws. There are spikes along the guard as well, so that one can get considerably rough with an opponent, or disarm attempts can be turned back on the enemy party. The pommel is thick, and has been stamped on both sides by a Unionist eye.

Artifact Custom Kit

Heartbroken is a Primal (Unionist God Magic) Artifact. As an Artifact, there are several rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see Artifact Page. It also provides the following Specials:

  • Bonded Weapon: This artifact is bound to Kurt Erhardt and cannot be destroyed or damaged in any manner, and cannot be removed from Kurt without his explicit consent (or the player’s OOC consent).
  • Vengeance: Heartbroken's eyes glow gold with the wrathful blessings of Allestrain when the wielder is fighting a Fornoss devout or raiding a Fornoss Temple. When it is marked by their blood, Wirtem scripture and careful gilded detailing becomes visible spiraling up the flat of the blade, only to disappear again when it is cleaned off.
