Artifacts | |
Name | Fernweh, the Saving Grace |
Origin | Calemberg |
Tier | Knight Collectible |
Type | Armor |
Calemberg sires the most pious souls of the Ailor, as many Wirtem would boldly claim. Inside the city, thousands of stories are protected within the sacred walls of the civilization. A system of class exists, with both commoner and noble, but all are inclined to feel rich with piety. One boy believed this with all of his heart. His name was Ludwig Schulze. He was a lowborn, with a family that had perished from a terrible plague. To honor them, the boy submitted himself to the Viridians in Calemberg. There, he trained for ten years, until graduating from squirehood. Ludwig, close friends with a quiet cobbler, was shocked to discover one day that the hermit had noble blood. He prayed to protect his dear friend- waking up to discover Fernweh the next morning. This is a Knight Collectible, obtained as a gift from the rank-up process, for the Character Jannick von Rolanthe.
Appearance
Fernweh is a tower-shield made of rose gold steel. It is a heavy piece of equipment, specifically made to take as many hits as possible. Due to its weight, it is often lifted better with the use of two hands at once. Though, anyone trained well enough could carry it one-handed. Across the front of the shield, small, golden drops are scattered about the surface, which faintly glow in the dark. Those from Calemberg consider them to be tears shed by the Unionist Goddess Ness, while others think that it is dried blood spilled by Brand.
Permanent Mechanics
Fernweh is a Unionist Collectible Legendary Artifact. As an Artifact, there are several rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see Artifact Page. It also provides the following Specials:
- Heaven’s Voice: Whenever Fernweh is struck, the sound of a young woman singing can be heard. It is never the same song, but rotates between a few Wirtem classics.
