Sangria, Blessed Blade of the Glory-Seeker is the legendary longsword of the God Emperor Allest of Unionist Faith, renowned for its glory and use at the hands of a legendary combatant. Initially forged by his direction, Sangria saw only victory in the hands of Allest, until his demise. The blade was taken from Allest's corpse, and paraded as a trophy, until it was stolen for its value. The blade passed many hands before it reached the Regalian Archipelago again, brought to Vultaro by a staunch Unionist. From there, the blade was taken on a Pilgrimage to the Holy City. Sangria is a legendary artifact amongst Unionists, especially those who dedicate themselves to Allest, believing that the blade enacts his will in the modern day.
Sangria, Blessed Blade of the Glory-Seeker, is the personal weapon of Emperor Allestrain I of Regalia, a legendary longsword that was a gift from his wife Empress Elia upon their wedding day. Sangria was Emperor Allest's favorite weapon, out of a whole arsenal of weapons he used over the years, and in many ways became tied to his reputation as an undefeated champion both on the battlefield and in the arena. Sangria is considered one of Unionism's holiest weapons, as it led the charge against the Pagan armies of the Skaggers while Allest made war with them. It was the Skaggers eventually who defeated and killed Emperor Allest, after which the weapon was used as a trophy among them. Eventually, the weapon disappeared from the historical narration, until it re-appeared in Regalia, either by divine hands or because the weapon was rumored always to seek the worthy to wield it for the faith.

Lore
Sangria's origins are somewhat well-recorded, as its first appearance in history was in the hands of the God Emperor Allest, who was said to have it forged to unique and (at the time) strange specifications. During Allest's life, it was nearly synonymous with him, and predominantly found use in the subjugation of Nordskag by the God Emperor. After the God Emperor's death, the sword passed along many armies and collectors, some who wished to quickly discard of it as they found, in their hands, it did not live up to the legends of Allest's might. Sangria is a large longsword, the blade has been hammered to rippling, many-folded perfection and tempered so masterfully that its near-opalescent surface shines a distinctly violet color in some angles of light, and a menacing red in others. It was said that those Allest brandished it against would see red upon it if he intended to slay them, and see violet if he were to show them mercy, though this is entirely hearsay as the steel’s color is a purely mundane facet of its metalwork. The cross guard has been wrapped many times over with sacred linens typically reserved for wrapping Unionist dead before their cremation, still smelling faintly of funerary perfumes. Dead within its center is a golden eye, set with a silver pupil, connecting to the red leather-bound handle. From the pommel hangs a rosary composed of many beads carved from knuckle bones: each knuckle bone taken from a person the blade has cut down, severed from their hand with it, and having their name and a prayer for their soul etched into the polished bone.
Artifact Tenure
Sangria is a Tenured Artifact to the Aelrrigan Knight Eleanaire of Jophael ((Finlaggan)), who is its reluctant wielder, burdened by its history. It cannot be stolen from her, but anyone who KO's her can take the Artifactspark from it, even if they don't normally have a mechanic that would allow them to do this.

Artifact Mechanics
Artifact Mechanics
Sangria is a Unionist God Magic Artifact. There are rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see the Artifact Page. Artifacts also provide Mechanics.
Artifact Mechanics are split between Permanent Mechanics, Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics. Permanent Mechanics are always available to the wielder of the Artifact. Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics are only available if the Artifact has an Artifactspark. Sparked Combat Mechanics are noted separately, because this makes them easier to find, but they are no different from Sparked Mechanics in general. For more information on Artifactsparks, read the Resources Page. For Rules on Artifact ownership, see the Artifacts Page.
Permanent Mechanics
Permanent Mechanics
* Sangria is the legendary weapon of Emperor Allest. If the user is fighting against Fornoss Worshipers, Evolist worshipers, Fury Arkenborn and/or Pride Arkenborn they gain +2 to their Attack Stat (Breaks Cap up to 11).
* Sangria allows its wielder to use a Deity-Form Transformation, which transforms their body into that of a divine God-like superhuman warrior in appearance, larger, stronger, and faster, clad in classical gladiatorial armor as a champion of the Gods. This Transformation can optionally count as a Disguise. Also while using this Transformation during Divinium summoning, Unionist Gods will treat the wielder as one of them which unlocks additional dialogue options.

Sparked Mechanics
* Choose 2 Free Packs from the following Categories: Paladin Point Buy, Melee Point Buy, Training Point Buy.
* Sangria allows its wielder to summon Firebrand, a God-like avatar of the Unionist god Brand onto the battlefield during Calendar-planned Combat Scenarios, like Temple Raids, Aelrrigan Vault Raids, or Clandestine Base Raids. Firebrand will be portrayed by a Staff member and fights with the power of two Characters with its own set of Abilities. Firebrand will fight until reduced to 0 HP, or until Sangria's wielder reaches 0 HP. Firebrand also does not take a participant slot.
* Sangria grants the wielder access to Allest's Sanctuary, a pocket dimension (instance Region) castle in the City of Regalia (Contact Staff to move it). They can also let others in (willingly), no one else can break in without permission. While within the Sanctuary, they can suspend (not remove, just pause) the effects of any player-applied Curses, including Custom Kit Prized Curses. Curse effects immediately re-activate as soon as the individual exits the Sanctuary.
Sparked Combat Mechanics
* Sangria's wielder can choose 3 Free Packs from the following Categories: Paladin Point Buy, Melee Point Buy, or Training Point Buy.
* Sangria as a weapon was used to make war, and hunt down non-believers who refused the authority of the Regalian Empire. Sangria grants the wielder +2 Attack Stat (breaking Cap up to 11) while using Attack Emotes on those of the following Religions: Fornoss, Minor Faiths, Evolism. Additionally, even when not attacking Characters of these faiths, Attack Dice Rolls can never roll below 4.
* Whenever the wielder contributes to KOing a Fornoss Worshipper, Evolist, or Fury/Pride Arkenborn in CRP (contributing means dealing at least 4HP of damage), the user immediately uses the Ability Divine Savior from Paladin Point Buy, without using an action, without needing to be in the stance and ignoring cooldowns, but only on themselves. It always counts as its Heretic Function.

Legendary Artifactspark Mechanics
* Choose 1 Free Pack from the following Category: Melee Point Buy
* Sangria’s might crushes the enemies of Unionism. When attacking Afflicted (excluding Relicsworn Undead), Argentum Knights, and Mystech, the wielder’s Attacks deal -3HP instead of -2HP. Additionally, when the wielder would be KO’d, they can use the Ability Magic Revenge as its Sinistral version from Magic Point Buy (does not count as Sinistral Magic, and does not require Magic).
* The Legendary Artifactspark Weapon grants the user +3 Attack Stat (breaks cap up to 11) and +1 Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 9), and sets the minimum for their Attack Dice Rolls to 5. When the user is KO’d, they can choose to instantly teleport them, and the Artifact, safely to their home. This can only be done once (and must be reported to Lore Staff). Subsequent uses of this teleport mechanic must sacrifice the Artifact’s Spark in order to teleport the user and the Artifact. The Artifact is considered de-sparked, and the Artifactspark is granted to whoever KO’d the user.

TypeWeapon

Eventually, the weapon disappeared from the historical narration, until it re-appeared in Regalia, either by divine hands or because the weapon was rumored always to seek the worthy to wield it for the faith.

Artifact Mechanics

Artifact Mechanics are split between Permanent Mechanics, Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics. Permanent Mechanics are always available to the wielder of the Artifact. Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics are only available if the Artifact has an Artifactspark. Sparked Combat Mechanics are noted separately, because this makes them easier to find, but they are no different from Sparked Mechanics in general. For more information on Artifactsparks, read the 1 Page. For Rules on Artifact ownership, see the Artifacts Page.

Permanent Mechanics

 • Sangria allows its wielder to use a Deity-Form Transformation, which transforms their body into that of a divine God-like superhuman warrior in appearance, larger, stronger, and faster, clad in classical gladiatorial armor as a champion of the Gods. This Transformation can optionally count as a Disguise. Also while using this Transformation during Divinium summoning, Unionist Gods will treat the wielder as one of them which unlocks additional dialogue options.

Sparked Mechanics

 • Sangria allows its wielder to summon Firebrand, a God-like avatar of the Unionist god Brand onto the battlefield during Calendar-planned Combat Scenarios, like Temple Raids, Aelrrigan Vault Raids, or Clandestine Base Raids. Firebrand will be portrayed by a Staff member and fights with the power of two Characters with its own set of Abilities. Firebrand will fight until reduced to 0 HP, or until Sangria's wielder reaches 0 HP. Firebrand also does not take a participant slot.
 • Sangria grants the wielder access to Allest's Sanctuary, a pocket dimension (instance Region) castle in the City of Regalia (Contact Staff to move it).

 • Sangria's wielder can choose 3 Free Packs from the following Categories: Paladin Point Buy, Melee Point Buy, or Training Point Buy.
 • Sangria as a weapon was used to make war, and hunt down non-believers who refused the authority of the Regalian Empire.
 • Whenever the wielder contributes to KOing a Fornoss Worshipper, Evolist, or Fury/Pride Arkenborn in CRP (contributing means dealing at least 4HP of damage), the user immediately uses the Ability Divine Savior from Paladin Point Buy, without using an action, without needing to be in the stance and ignoring cooldowns, but only on themselves. It always counts as its Heretic Function.
