Emerson’s Cloak of Protection, shortened to just Emerson’s Cloak, was a gift from Joshua Emerson’s tutor, a knight from the thousand blade draconic monastery, made by hand with love and care. It was proudly presented to him upon his promotion.

Appearance

Emerson’s Cloak is a big, crimson cape that comes down to the heels of the man that wears it. It's made of an incredibly tough, durable material that is somehow also light, flowing, and water-resistant. Across the shoulders and down the back, metal scales have been woven into the cloak, small replicas meant to imitate dragon scale in design. There are exactly one-thousand of these scales on the cloak.

Emerson’s Cloak is a Mundane Artifact. As an artifact, there are several rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see Artifact Page. It also provides the following Specials:

• Bound Armor: Emerson’s Cloak is armor bonded to its owner, Joshua Emerson, and therefore cannot be taken from them or destroyed beyond repair. Emerson’s Cloak cannot leave emote range of Joshua, and will be returned to him by a NPC bloodcast if taken.
• Dragonhide: Emerson’s cloak is nearly impenetrable, due to the metal scales woven into its design, and as such counts as both armor and shield. This cloak can be used in place of a shield for shielding point buy abilities, and can also be used as the block token for wearing armor.
