Akhet-hedj, Rising of the Sun, or figuratively in old Dewamenet the phrase starter 'Akhet set off at dawn,' is a necklace with a brilliant golden stone set in the middle that seems to shine no matter the time of day. Akhet-hedj is part of a larger set of royal regalia of the former King of Gods, who having now relinquished the seat of power to his brother Tjafar who has returned to lead the pantheon again, has allowed his Artifacts to spread throughout the world so that they can be useful to his faithful (or lost them in disguise while running after another mortal Asha to flirt with, or invite to a party). As a piece of Akhet's royal jewelry and recently introduced to the world, Akhet-hedj has a very short history but quite a bit of figurative significance due to its original owner.

Origins

All of Akhet's royal jewelry including bracelets and necklaces are painstakingly memorized in the poems of the river tribes that held on to the old traditions that were forgotten by those subjugated to Allorn servitude, and found occasionally depicted painted on the walls of caves or in graffiti cryptically disguised as something else. Modern hindsight study of these legends gives the impression that even though they were not originally royal artifacts, Tjafar the Shaper God made them for him as a gift, with a different one completed on every birthday, until he had so much jewelry that he had no idea what to do with it all and started handing them out as gifts to the people when he would pass them by.

Appearance

Akhet-hedj is a necklace of thin Living Metal filament that seems to always be rippling where it is set into the shape of ribbons, extending seamlessly to fit the height and breadth of the wearer. Even if the wearer is unable to manipulate Living Metal, it seems to respond to their needs by jerking back when it would be about to snag on something or be pulled at by someone hostile. Where the necklace falls to the center of the chest, a more static rectangular frame with hieroglyphic ornamentation spelling out a verse of Khama holy poetry is set. In the middle, a golden stone usually more the color of amber is carefully placed, that seems to glow brighter when the wearer stands under the direct gaze of the sun, shimmering with Akhet's divine gaze.

Artifact Mechanics

Akhet-hedj is a Khama God Magic Artifact. There are rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see the Artifact Page. Artifacts also provide Mechanics.

Permanent Mechanics

  • Akhet holds power over wherever the sun might touch. Akhet-hedj grants the user +2 to their Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 9) while directly underneath the open sky.

Artifactspark Mechanics

  • Choose 2 Free Packs from the following Categories: Athletics Point Buy, Training Point Buy, Cleric Point Buy
  • Akhet-hedj is blessed with the vitality of the sun. Wearers gain Remet Asha heritage mechanics. If the wearer is already a Remet Asha, gain Mechanics from another Asha heritage. Additionally, if held by a mundane non-Asha, the wearer is granted access to the elusive Ashal Kingdoms.
  • Akhet-hedj values strength in its bearers. Its wearer can reroll a failed out of combat Strength dice roll once per roll, and gains +2 to Attack Stat (breaks cap up to 11) while using Strength as their attack.

Legendary Artifactspark Mechanics

  • Choose 1 Free Pack from the following Category: Athletics Point Buy
  • Akhet’s creations exist to remind Elves of their place. After contributing to the defeat of an Elf (including half-heritage elves) in combat (contributing means dealing at least 4HP of damage), the user heals +2HP and gains a +1 to Strength (breaks cap with no cap), which stacks per Elf.
  • The Legendary Artifactspark Jewelry grants the user +2 Attack Stat (breaks cap up to 11) and +2 Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 9), and sets the minimum for their Attack and Defense Dice Rolls to 2. When the user is KO’d, they can choose to instantly teleport them, and the Artifact, safely to their home. This can only be done once (and must be reported to Lore Staff). Subsequent uses of this tepeort mechanic must sacrifice the Artifact’s Spark in order to teleport the user and the Artifact. The Artifact is considered de-sparked, and the Artifactspark is granted to whoever KO’d the user.
