Sparks of Joy have existed in Aloria for as long as theatrics and pyrotechnics have, created by the Happiness Arken to signify her immediate arrival or departure. Although mundane thespians have attempted to recreate the same effect, no product could ever hope to match the original. These bundles of dense particulate magic can only be created by the Happiness Arken, and are often gifted to her favored children or performers. Inhaling the powdery contents of the bag are said to increase the potency of one’s magic tenfold.

Appearance

Normally stored in a cloth pouch or glass vial, the Spark particles themselves are an otherworldly burgundy and yellow. They shimmer and pour like small diamonds, with an almost musical quality to them as they collide with one another. When dashed against the ground, the many particles combust, sending up a plume of blinding red and yellow light.

Artifact Mechanics

Sparks of Joy is are Exist Magic Artifacts. There are rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see the Artifact Page. Artifacts also provide Mechanics.

Permanent Mechanics

  • Sparks of Joy users may toss Sparks of Joy to the ground, producing a beautiful puff of smoke, and forcing them out of a scene completely, destroying them. Artifactspark removal also destroys them.

Artifactspark Mechanics

  • Sparks of Joy can be used by the user on themselves, causing them to appear like a mannequin for 24 hours, being entirely made of wood, and being unable to speak beyond mutter.
  • Sparks of Joy can be used on Familiars, allowing them to become a humanoid Asha for up to 24 hours, played by a player, and develop the capacity for speech and retain memories.
