Prakhara, Snakebite Pole-Glaive, is an impressive and towering weapon of Slizzar design created for the ceremonial guards who stood the eternal watch outside the sanctified pyramid of Nox. There are many weapons like it, each with their own names, it just so happens that Prakhara is one of the few to escape the clutches of the Slizzar and travel around the world between the collections of different owners. Prakhara was seized from the fallen at the disastrous Siege of Fessa Huallo, having somehow traveled into the hands of Mananya-Manya's loyal soldiers, and from them into the loot chest of a fleeing Regalian Duke. With a Slizzar knife soon planted into his back, the weapon nonetheless continued to circulate between curio markets and the courts of the wealthy and interested.

Origins

Even the Slizzar do not precisely recall when Prakhara and its cohort of weapons were created, or how. The only thing they understand is that these sorts of glaives were carried by the guards of Nox's pyramid for as long as anyone could remember the existence of the pyramid or the city. If that lack of information is to be taken to its natural conclusion, it could full well be one of the oldest items still around in the world.

Appearance

Prakhara has a smooth, perfectly cylindrical haft of slate-polished gray Leystone. Rather than the usual chaotic purple cracks, straight lines of purple Dragon-Magic laid into the weapon run directly upwards and flow into the blade. Prakhara's glaive design is both alien and elegant at the same time: flanged in several places with designs of twisting, curling Dragons in a style that even the modern Slizzar interpret as a little bit off but the Maraya seem to consider in keeping with proper medieval Meraic depictions (despite the complete absence of the Slizzar from the Meraic Era, meaning these must implicitly be Third Civilization designs the Maraya inherited), and constantly lit up a faint, purple lilac color that shines in even the dark. It is a relatively large weapon that seems to mysteriously scale with the wielder, being full polearm size at all times.

Artifact Mechanics

Prakhara is a Draconist God Magic Artifact. There are rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see the Artifact Page. Artifacts also provide Mechanics.

Permanent Mechanics

  • The Snakebite Pole-Glaive shields its wielder from some deception. The wielder can focus on a statement from an Event/DM Character, and determine if it is misleading or untruthful. This does not work on every statement said, and has diminishing returns if used too frequently.

Artifactspark Mechanics

  • Choose 2 Free Packs from the following Categories: Cutthroat Point Buy, Adapt Point Buy, Roguery Point Buy
  • Prakhara is a prized possession to most Slizzar. The wielder is immune to mind control of any type, particularly Mindcontrol Pack and all of its Mechanics to do with Thralling and Persuasion Dices, if used to convince them. They are also immune to Persuasion Dices when used by Players. Additionally, when using Persuasion Dices themselves, if they fail once, they can re-try their Dice for a higher result. If the wielder is a Slizzar, they can roll twice for failed results, and gain a +2 to the final result of their Persuasion Dice.
  • Prakhara can cut through almost any material, including doors, grates, and gates, but not solid walls. When the wielder hits an enemy with a Block Token, they can break one of those Block Tokens automatically, and still deal -2HP damage. This only works once per enemy per scene.

Legendary Artifactspark Mechanics

  • Choose 1 Free Pack from the following Category: Adapt Point Buy
  • Prakhara is a glaive like no other. The welder's Melee Range is considered 3-4 Blocks, not 1-2 Blocks. Additionally, the wielder gains +3 to the minimum of their Attack Dice Rolls.
  • The Legendary Artifactspark Weapon grants the user +3 Attack Stat (breaks cap up to 11) and +1 Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 9), and sets the minimum for their Attack Dice Rolls to 5. When the user is KO’d, they can choose to instantly teleport them, and the Artifact, safely to their home. This can only be done once (and must be reported to Lore Staff). Subsequent uses of this teleport mechanic must sacrifice the Artifact’s Spark in order to teleport the user and the Artifact. The Artifact is considered de-sparked, and the Artifactspark is granted to whoever KO’d the user.
