Isinlon is an Elven Allorn artefact, a necklace draped around the neck and shoulders in the late Allorn style that is nonetheless severely different from the other wonders of its time. In the place of the traditional religious origins, whether belonging to the Estelley loyalists, the Dragon cults or the rising Kathar, it bears the handiwork of the Broken Gods, the Scornblood in specific, due to her tacit patronage to and coalescence from the destruction of a short-lived Void Arkenborn state, Lasaal. Following Lasaal's destruction, it passed between the shoulders of several eminent Allorn noblemen as a war trophy before one of them was forced to give it up as his ransom to the Prince of Amontaar, Menveï, who some centuries later would give it as a gift to those who assisted him in times of strife.

Description

Isinlon is a necklace of fine-woven golden rope in the Allorn style. From its length hang eight perfectly polished elliptical amber stones, each of them representing one of the Void Arken of the Allorn day, with the appropriate Occultic symbol carved to indicate each one. The stones indicate Pride, Fury, Avarice, Body, Corruption, and Rejection, who sire Arkenborn in the modern day, but also Power and Envy, who were historically relevant despite their absence of spawn. Each of the amber stones glints in the center like it is filled with lava, a reminder of the potent Void Magic within.

Artifact Mechanics

Artifact Mechanics are split between Permanent Mechanics, Sparked Mechanics, and Sparked Combat Mechanics. Permanent Mechanics are always available to the wielder of the Artifact. Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics are only available if the Artifact has an Artifactspark. Sparked Combat Mechanics are noted separately, because this makes them easier to find, but they are no different from Sparked Mechanics in general. For more information on Artifactsparks, read the Resources Page. For Rules on Artifact ownership, see the Artifacts Page.

Permanent Mechanics

  • Isinlon grants the wearer access to any three Arkenborn Mechanics that can be taken from any Arkenborn list (except Body Mechanic 2 and Corruption Mechanic 2), but also makes them mechanically count as an Arkenborn, and gain Arkenborn Eyes. If they take only Void Arkenborn Mechanics, these are pure Void Arkenborn eyes, but if they take at least one Exist Arkenborn mechanic, then they have heterochromia with one Void Arkenborn eye and one Exist Arkenborn. These traits are lost if the Artifact is lost before becoming a Collectible.

Sparked Mechanics

  • Isinlon's wearer can choose 3 Free Packs from the following Categories: Magic Point Buy, Adapt Point Buy, or Invoke Point Buy.
  • Isinlon protects the wearer from Purity. Any non-Combat mechanic or region that would prevent them from using their Abilities, such as Purestone, does not work on them. Additionally, if the wielder is ever in an environment that would somehow negatively effect them mechanically, including ones from Custom Kits, they ignore these maluses and operate completely as normal.
  • Isinlon grants the statesman expertise of its previous wearer. Whenever the wearer is in an Event and needs knowledge of something that the previous wearer would previously have known (Late Allorn or Elven history, Arken lore, Religious lore), they are not assessed by the DM for whether or not their Character would know that, and are automatically considered knowledgeable.
  • Isinlon was worn by a hero of the downtrodden. Isinlon grants the wielder +2 Defense Stat (breaking Cap up to 9) while using defending from Attack Emotes from any Character that is an Estelley Worshiper. Additionally, even when not defending against Characters of that faith, the wielder's Defence Dice Roll Minimum is set to 3.

Collectible Artifact

Artifacts are very cool, and make a Character super powerful. That being said, due to circumstances of Roleplay, a Character may end up holding onto an Artifact for months on end. This is generally not a problem, but we believe that Artifacts because of their uniqueness, should never be held onto in perpetuity by one Player. After a few months, it is time for the next player to be able to enjoy the artifact, and for this reason, Collectibles exist. After 120 days of non-consecutive Artifact ownership, an Artifact is automatically confiscated, and the Player who lost it is given a Collectible. Collectibles are thematically and aesthetically similar to the Artifact, meaning the loss of an Artifact does not visually detract from a Character's established design. However, they cannot hold Artifactsparks and only inherit the Permanent Mechanics from the Artifact they were generated from (including the rules limiting their use). On the other hand, Collectibles can never be stolen from their owner, a Collectible is owned forever, and there is no upper limit to the amount of Collectibles a Character can have, or wield/use at the same time. Collectibles cannot be traded in, though some Events may ask for their sacrifice, destroying the Collectible. To summarize this Artifact's Collectible properties:

  • When this Artifact is exchanged for a Collectible, the Artifact seeks new shoulders to decorate, leaving behind a Nobleblood Necklace.
  • The Nobleblood Necklace Collectible inherits the Permanent Mechanic of the Artifact.
  • While there are several Nobleblood Necklaces, each looks unique, though should be inspired by the Artifact.
