Many Alorians desire to leave their name behind, sounded as syllables that all tongues can speak. Followers of the Evolist Gods may know this craving best, for they embrace such a feeling as one of the reasons for living. Valorant humility is the cowardly way out; starving one’s potential is futile. Kinvahc cements a legacy of triumph in the shape of a circlet, forged in commemoration of a Kathar battlemage who excelled as a model example of the warriors that a magic academy in Rokhaval, Akrat, could produce. The circlet, and its owner, were blessed by Triton for their virtue, and the consolidation of knowledge and power amongst the Evolists there.
Kinvahc, Envy's Glory, was created by the Evolist God Triton for Vanloc Nalziirn, a Kathar veteran of the Dread War. A formiddable battlemage, Vanloc propelled through the ranks before being granted a council seat at the Akrat Magic Academy in Rokhaval. There he exposed many of the academy's long-time secrets, usurping the other inept councilors and replacing the with his followers. Akrat soon became ruthlessly efficient, earning the blessings of Triton in the form of Kinvahc. Eventually, Vanloc was challenged and slain by one of his followers, with Kinvahc passing to the victor, until a Dread Envoy to Amontaar sold it to an Evolist tourist to the city, who brought it to Regalia soon after.

Origins
Description
Kinvahc was commissioned by Vanloc Nalziirn, a prodigy of Akrat. Serving in the Dread War, Vanloc’s ruthless usage of magic propelled him up the ranks. While the Kathar were ultimately routed, Vanloc’s contribution was not omitted, and as a reward for his efforts, he was granted a seat on the academy's Council. While there,  he uncovered and exposed many of the Academy's long-kept secrets, usurping the inept ruling council and replacing with his followers. This act propelled Akrat into one of the most ruthlessly efficient institutions the Empire had to offer. A ritual begging the favor of Triton, earned Vanloc his blessing, and the Artifact was created and empowered, in exchange for Vanloc's service. Infused with Triton’s blessing, Kinvahc was now imbued with divine purpose. However, this did not last forever. Eventually, one of Vanloc's followers challenged him for control over the academy, and slew him in ritual combat. The Artifact passed on to him, until another challenged them for it. This pattern repeated itself, with the Circlet changing hands, and locations frequently. Kinvahc was eventually secured by an Envoy Archon stationed in Amontaar. This Archon (perhaps foolishly) sold the artifact to a traveling Evolist, who eventually sailed east to Corontium. While adorned, it is said to whisper bizarre thoughts into the ear of its owner. Chaos nips at the heels of whoever possesses the circlet. Holding Kinvahc seems to teach a lesson of benign modesty: it is not only one who can drag veracity out from the darkness.
Kinvahc is classified as an Accessory Artifact, meaning it cannot be wielded at the same time with other Accessory Artifacts by the same owner. Kinvahc is a simple circlet that has been created with dark steel inscribed with Void-Script. The rough translation is read as a unique word, ‘mindsipper’. However, additional script can be read, which changes upon each host that it makes contact with. The circlet is always cold, even when worn. The metal bends in shape to fit the head of its wearer, no matter their size.

Kinvahc is a Void Magic Artifact. As Kinvahc is an Artifact, there are several rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see Artifact page. Kinvahc also provides the following specials:
Artifact Mechanics are split between Permanent Mechanics, Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics. Permanent Mechanics are always available to the wielder of the Artifact. Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics are only available if the Artifact has an Artifactspark. Sparked Combat Mechanics are noted separately, because this makes them easier to find, but they are no different from Sparked Mechanics in general. For more information on Artifactsparks, read the Resources Page. For Rules on Artifact ownership, see the Artifacts Page.

Artifacts are very cool, and make a Character super powerful. That being said, due to circumstances of Roleplay, a Character may end up holding onto an Artifact for months on end. This is generally not a problem, but we believe that Artifacts because of their uniqueness, should never be held onto in perpetuity by one Player. After a few months, it is time for the next player to be able to enjoy the artifact, and for this reason, Collectibles exist. After 120 days of non-consecutive Artifact ownership, an Artifact is automatically confiscated, and the Player who lost it is given a Collectible. Collectibles are thematically and aesthetically similar to the Artifact, meaning the loss of an Artifact does not visually detract from a Character's established design. However, they cannot hold Artifactsparks and only inherit the Permanent Mechanics from the Artifact they were generated from (including the rules limiting their use). On the other hand, Collectibles can never be stolen from their owner, a Collectible is owned forever, and there is no upper limit to the amount of Collectibles a Character can have, or wield/use at the same time. Collectibles may be traded away by their owner if they are unable to use the Permanent Mechanic due to the use limitation. To summarize this Artifact's Collectible properties:
* The Legendary Artifactspark Jewelry grants the user +2 Attack Stat (breaks cap up to 11) and +2 Defense Stat (breaks cap up to 9), and sets the minimum for their Attack and Defense Dice Rolls to 2. When the user is KO’d, they can choose to instantly teleport them, and the Artifact, safely to their home. This can only be done once (and must be reported to Lore Staff). Subsequent uses of this tepeort mechanic must sacrifice the Artifact’s Spark in order to teleport the user and the Artifact. The Artifact is considered de-sparked, and the Artifactspark is granted to whoever KO’d the user.

*The UNIQUE NAME Collectible inherits the Permanent Mechanic of Kinvahc but can only be used by WHOEVER MARTY/ALEX WANT TO USE IT. While there are several UNIQUE NAME, each looks unique, though should be inspired by the appearance of Kinvahc.

Description

Kinvahc is classified as an Accessory Artifact, meaning it cannot be wielded at the same time with other Accessory Artifacts by the same owner. Kinvahc is a simple circlet that has been created with dark steel inscribed with Void-Script. The rough translation is read as a unique word, ‘mindsipper’. However, additional script can be read, which changes upon each host that it makes contact with. The circlet is always cold, even when worn. The metal bends in shape to fit the head of its wearer, no matter their size.

Artifact Mechanics

Artifact Mechanics are split between Permanent Mechanics, Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics. Permanent Mechanics are always available to the wielder of the Artifact. Sparked Mechanics and Sparked Combat Mechanics are only available if the Artifact has an Artifactspark. Sparked Combat Mechanics are noted separately, because this makes them easier to find, but they are no different from Sparked Mechanics in general. For more information on Artifactsparks, read the Resources Page. For Rules on Artifact ownership, see the Artifacts Page.

Collectible Artifact

 • Marty Will Fill This In
 • The UNIQUE NAME Collectible inherits the Permanent Mechanic of Kinvahc but can only be used by WHOEVER MARTY/ALEX WANT TO USE IT. While there are several UNIQUE NAME, each looks unique, though should be inspired by the appearance of Kinvahc.
