The Howling Warbanner has been held aloft in the many wars throughout the storied history of the Regalian Empire, always finding itself landing in the hands of someone who aspired for more than what their station permitted, be that desire one for morality, for glory, or for peace. The origin of it is markedly unclear, having simply appeared upon a battlefield one day when the commander of a platoon had lost all hope in his faltering position, to inspire him to fight on. Though it is well-stated that said commander had fallen in battle, he had fallen bravely and fought to the end, a vigor that saved many of his men with his sacrifice. Following this battle, the flag was picked up by another from where it rested, who too carried it bravely into battle. The Howling Warbanner has witnessed the rise and fall of many, until it was picked up by an Aelrrigan Knight who locked it away in a Magi-Vault, until it was granted to Sahuvi for his endeavors and promotion.
Appearance
The Howling Warbanner is an ornate, royal blue flag that has been fashioned into a coat and lined with white fur due to the decay and destruction of the pole it was once hoisted upon. The golden trimmings imply previous heraldry that has since faded through time, though in the place of a single insignia are many talismans and embossed images all related to the past wearers and regiments that the Warbanner once belonged to. The cloak, and all of the pins, trinkets and talismans attached to it cannot be separated or destroyed, and if damaged always seem to self-repair in a subtle fashion.
