The Greygold Gauntlets supposedly belonged to a notable Breizh warrior who lived at the time of King Arthair. A guardian of Tirglochog, also called the Silvery Land, this man was wealthy and powerful in his time, but also a man of the people, who routinely ensured his people’s lands were secure from attack. It is also said his daughter was a sorceress, who worked Magic on the Silver that came from his lands, ensuring it was used for good or neutral purposes rather than to finance evil endeavors. It is claimed by some that after the wars that broke out when Arthair passed, the swamp disease that ravaged the realm was a result of a curse from this daughter being made manifest. The Greygold Gauntlets themselves turned up around 100 AC, and examination has not determined their true age. While the myths around the ancient warrior are often fully believed by locals and those partial to the Aelrrigans, some suggest that the Gauntlets were instead made in mimicry of the tale many years after any such events took place. Regardless of this truth, the Gauntlets have emerged and submerged over the decades, but remain the property of the Aelrrigan Knight Order. This is a Knight Artifact, obtained as a gift from the rank-up process.
Appearance
The Greygold Gauntlets are beautiful, ornate gauntlets that do not look like they belong to a warrior. However, they are as sturdy and useful as any normal armor. The Gauntlets gain their unique appearance through the use of Silver in their design, delicate patterns finely overlaid and combined with the gleaming Steel that makes up the core structure of the armored object.
Artifact Custom Kit
The Greygold Gauntlets are a God Magic Artifact. As an Artifact, there are several rules associated with Artifact Ownership, see Artifact Page. It also provides the following Specials:
Bonded Armor: This Artifact is bound to Bethan Annwyl and cannot be destroyed or damaged in any manner, and cannot be removed from Bethan without their explicit consent (or the player’s OOC consent).
Grey Shield: The Greygold Gauntlets can serve as a layer of armor, keeping in mind one can only have one armor token, and armor does not stack. The form the protection takes is a burst of silver bird feathers, which flake away into nothing after the armor token is used up.
