Used for centuries by Ailor as a mount in combat, its unshakeable bravery saw it commonly used in lethal shock cavalry units on many early battlefields. Since that time, the [[Regalian Empire]] now faces more complex foes, but the Heerstepper remains in the back pocket of the [[Crownland Culture]]s and those closest to them for use as needed.

They are quite noticeable, having a slender, lithe build alongside elegant antlers and an exceptionally long tail. Since the dawn of the [[Altalar]], the creature has been associated with the great creator of objects and nature, [[Sca’Elle]], and unlike other creatures tied to the [[Altalar Pantheon]], this one was not felled by [[Magic]]-fueled cultism. These lands suffered raids at the hands of the Solvaan for years, and the Ilithars played a key role in these conflicts as it easily moved through the mists, delivering Solvaan warriors right to the doorstep of many an old Ailor settlement. However, the Ilithars has grown rarer with time, and is now a rare steed among the warriors of [[Solleria]]. Instead, it is revered, and left semi-feral in the wilds, the equine seen as a unique symbol of the region’s misty terrain and mysterious past.

Aloria is rich in both fauna and flora. This page specifically is dedicated to all recorded, extinct or still living, animals that roam the world of Aloria. All animals are split into their relevant categories. Keep in mind that this list is not final and will be added to when necessary. As a player you may claim one of the animals and try to write a Player Lore Prompt, though remind yourself to consult Lore staff about any relevant descriptions! Anyone is permitted to Roleplay a domesticated feline, canine, or songbird where applicable. For any other wild animal, please consult Lore staff as some animals are too wild and hostile to survive in an urban city like Regalia.
