|fauna1desc    = The Drowda Vas Pirion is an incredibly large and dangerous bat native to [[Drowda]], specifically originating from the region closest to Estel's Grave. They feed off of the blood of their prey, and their appearance will shift based on their primary food source. This bat also carries a highly toxic venom, which is injected through its needle-like teeth. The creature's only apparent weakness is its need to sleep for around six hours a day, as it is very difficult to wake a sleeping Vas Pirion during this sleeping cycle.

|fauna2    = [[Jungle Veneerion]]
|fauna2    = [[Fruger-Volador]]
|fauna2desc    = The Jungle Veneerion is a large, herbivorous bat native to the jungles of [[Daendroc]], known for its sharp fangs, thick black fur, and large wings. Its demonic appearance has served as a cause for fear among locals, closely linking it as something of superstition. In reality, the creature’s most menacing features, its fangs, serve to puncture the cacao pods which constitute the majority of its diet. Once commonplace in Daendroc, it has since been killed on sight resulting in a dwindling of its numbers. The Veneerion is rarely seen outside of the jungle, only venturing out to civilized areas when the food supply falls too low in their natural habitat to sustain them.
|fauna2desc    = The Fruger-Volador is a species of bat native to the lands of [[Daen]] and [[The Far West]], known for being mischaracterized for years as a bloodsucker and a menace to society. Feared and often killed by the [[Ailor]] locals since the time they were slaves of the [[Allorn Empire]], the animals greatly recovered following the explosion of nature that followed the [[Wildering]]. Divided into three subspecies of varying sizes, the Fruger-Volador is likely to survive for many more years, though deforestation will probably begin restricting the locations of their colonies.

|fauna3    = [[Star-Snouted Bat]]
|fauna3    = [[Star-Snouted Bat]]
|fauna3desc    = The Star-Snouted Bat is a curious creature, an insectivorous bat distributed around [[Corontium]], [[Essalonia]] and [[Oldt Era]]. This species is sedentary, long-lived and one of the few bioluminescent land mammals known to man, having a disk-shaped snout that glows white, used to attract prey. The Star-Snout is a skilled and accurate flyer capable of high-frequency echolocation. Seventy percent of its diet is moths, while the remainder is a mixture of ground or cave spiders, beetles, and any other insect it can find. This species of bat hibernates as the supply of insects remains plentiful throughout the year due to the temperate climate of its habitat often dwindling off by autumn. The Star-Snout resides in trees and other forested areas, and during the winter months often find warmth in deep caves and the attics of unaware villagers.

|fauna4    = [[Sangunos Bat]]
|fauna4desc    =The Sangunos Bat suffers from a very unfortunate connection to [[Vampirism]], which has heavily defined its representation in urban legends and folklore of many [[Alorian]] [[Races]]. The creatures mainly persist through the drinking of blood, though rarely make [[Humans]] or other Races their targets, instead focusing on livestock and other animals in and around their colonies. The creatures, because of this fact and greater superstitions around bats overall, are vilified by society, and their numbers have been rendered small through concerted efforts against them and their kind despite not being related to the Vampires at all.

Aloria is rich in both fauna and flora. This page specifically is dedicated to all recorded, extinct or still living, animals that roam the world of Aloria. All animals are split into their relevant categories. Keep in mind that this list is not final and will be added to when necessary. As a player you may claim one of the animals and try to write a Player Lore Prompt, though remind yourself to consult Lore staff about any relevant descriptions! Anyone is permitted to Roleplay a domesticated feline, canine, or songbird where applicable. For any other wild animal, please consult Lore staff as some animals are too wild and hostile to survive in an urban city like Regalia.
