These ants are of great interest to scientists, though, due to their polymorphism, ability to survive, and mutualistic relationships with other insects and species that they appear to form.

A beetle of varying sizes and ferocity, the Torat-Nekh are a breed of insect that devour any flesh they can get their pincers on, and live in the deep deserts of the [[Ashal Isles]] - far, far away from any established cities. An ancient legend claims that many Kings and Queens of the [[Asha]] kept these scarabs in jars, meant to warn against extreme criminal behavior. Dead Torat-Nekh were often used to decorate the walls of holy sites or crushed and ground into a fine powder to be used in paints or dyes. Whether or not the legends hold true has been lost to the sands of time and now, the Torat-Nekh are a vague threat in the back of travelers’ minds as they navigate the deep deserts of the Ashal Isles.

Aloria is rich in both fauna and flora. This page specifically is dedicated to all recorded, extinct or still living, animals that roam the world of Aloria. All animals are split into their relevant categories. Keep in mind that this list is not final and will be added to when necessary. As a player you may claim one of the animals and try to write a Player Lore Prompt, though remind yourself to consult Lore staff about any relevant descriptions! Anyone is permitted to Roleplay a domesticated feline, canine, or songbird where applicable. For any other wild animal, please consult Lore staff as some animals are too wild and hostile to survive in an urban city like Regalia.

Mammals

Primates

Includes all simians such as monkeys, apes, hominins, lemurs, lorisoids, and tarsiers.

Primates
Ogre
Ogres are grey or blue Human-like creatures found in the north of Aloria in areas of southern Ellador as well as northern Essalonia. Their history is ancient, going back as far as the days of the Drovv, to more recent times, in which they harassed Velheim Ailor who dared to encroach the territory of their Truggs, or groups. These Truggs are led by Chieftains, who speak for their Truggs in the annual “Great Horn” debates across the north. Ogres are known especially for their alchemically-valuable blood, and for their heavy, durable bones, which are sought after by artisans and Orcish weaponsmiths alike.
Troll
The Troll, a smaller and more reclusive cousin of the Ogre, is a monstrous beast found in southern Ellador and eastern Jorrhildr. Trolls are well known for their fierce attitudes and cannibalism among their own species. The finer details concerning Trolls are unknown due to this aggression and their pension to live underground. They are marked as a danger by both Ogres and Alorian Races alike but as they breed and live underground, it is unlikely their numbers will sufficiently dwindle.
Orantrang
Unique among the alien fauna of Solangeria's lush rainforests, the Orantrang is a rather peculiar ape, with unique adaptations to help it survive in its harsh environment. The Orantrang was first observed shortly after the Qadir found Solangeria and was later also found by the Altalar. The Orantrang are extremely docile, in stark contrast to the unforgiving landscape. The adaptation that keeps such a friendly creature alive, however, are scent glands which emit chemicals into the air that essentially pacify all nearby living things, resulting in predators simply ignoring the apes as they swing from tree to tree. In fact, hostile feelings seem to be repelled from the area entirely, which prevents others from even thinking about attacking anything. The apes were revered almost as spiritual beings to the ancient Qadir and some degree, even modern animal keepers upkeep this respect.
Tree Basterion
Within the jungles of Hadaria, many explorers who stumble across the wrong cluster of trees are soon bombarded with hard fruits and screeches, a typical greeting from the Tree Basterion. These odd primates are exotic to say the least, with large hands, odd green fur, and an interesting hoarding instinct. The oldest records of the Tree Basterion date back to around 2900 BC, and come from the Elven Empire; while the oldest non-Elven records are from 295 AC. As its name implies, the Tree Basterion has a great affinity for climbing in the jungle and often only comes to the ground to collect rocks and fallen fruits. While reclusive in its present state, the Tree Basterion continues to showcase Hadar’s exotic fauna as well as its scarred past.
Long Tail Leasier
The Long Tail Leasier is a monkey well known for possessing a tail that is twice its own body length, which lives in the jungles of southern Ithania. Contact between them and the outside world has been frequent, from the time of the Dewamenet Empire to the recent Elven War of 302 AC, which saw their population drop as their forest home was harmed by the conflict. They are also a highly sociable animal but react viscerally to any aggressive attempt to hold or squeeze their tails, though domesticated varieties often grow accustomed to such incidents. It is likely that the Long Tail Leasier will soon be openly thriving in the jungles once more while their domesticated compatriots raise their profile overseas and across Daen.
Capuchini
The small and intuitive Capuchini monkey, native to Montania, is something of a bane to local merchants. Their dexterous hands and curious disposition contribute to a seemingly kleptomaniacal nature; fruits, trinkets and assorted rubbish all fall prey to their inherent greed. An annoyance and inconvenience to the native population, the Capuchini monkey is loved by children and sailors but scorned by vendors and commercial travelers.
Frosthorn
The Frosthorn makes up a trio of well known northern primates in Aloria along with the Troll and the Ogre. What makes the Frosthorn unique, however, is its naturally present forked antlers growing from its forehead while its massive size is also notable. In addition, the animal is shrouded in mist, having lived at the edges of major civilizations for several centuries if tales and wall art is to be believed. The animal is also notable as having recently appeared at the Battle of Curag Fields, furthering the mystery around them just as many more mysteries of the past begin to reopen across Aloria in recent years.

Includes animals with two incisor teeth on both the top and bottom of their mouths, such as mice, rats, squirrels, prairie dogs, porcupines, beavers, guinea pigs, hamsters, and capybaras.

Squirrel
The Squirrel, along with the Rat and the Mouse, is one of the most populous mammals in Aloria. The Squirrel is common in the pine forests of The North Belt, the boreal forests of the Regalian Archipelago, and some have even made their way to the jungles of Daen. Easy to domesticate but also easily returned to the wild, the animal is most often a children’s pet or a trick animal of traveling entertainers when they are domesticated, or living wild in nearby parks. Their numbers took a hit recently due to the Bone Horror Crisis but they are expected to bounce back quickly.
Rat
The Rat is a common Aloria mammal which has existed across the world for millennia. Over time, its subspecies have developed several physical adaptations suited to their surroundings. Through all of this, the Rat’s mentality has remained the same. It is a skittish animal, though two of its four varieties are open to domestication. The animal is best known as a pest alongside its smaller cousin, the Mouse, due to its penchant to eat vegetation, stored grains, or pantry foods, but it is also well known as a cute but short-lived pet.

The Mouse is a common Aloria mammal which has existed across the world for millennia. Over time, its subspecies have developed unique physical adaptations, from a flaming tail to a long and bushy one. Through all of this, though, the Mouse’s mentality has remained the same. It is a skittish animal, though three of its five subspecies are open to domestication. The animal is best known as a pest alongside its larger cousin, the Rat, due to its penchant to eat vegetation, stored grains, or pantry foods, though it is also well known as a cute but short-lived pet.
Anglian Beaver
The Anglian Beaver is an ancient creature to the Anglian people of the Regalian Archipelago. A familiar sight along the shores of their land’s many rivers, hunters often make a point of tracking down these creatures due to this plentiful nature. They are highly developed divers, able to submerge for over ten minutes when their adults and are distinct from other forms of beaver by possessing a vertically flat tail which they use as their primary propulsion underwater. They are likely to remain an everyday part of Anglian river life for the far foreseeable future.
Norlda
Norldas are dangerous tunneling mammals similar to moles with a notably high intelligence. Mutated during the Fifth Void Invasion, they are now one of the many deadly creatures hunted by the Drowdar in their fight against the Void on Drowda. Highly resistant to toxins yet poor at digesting, Norldas act as pests for the Drowdar while their body parts are eagerly sought after by alchemists.

Wolf
Wolves have long been a predator at the fringes of many societies of Aloria. Predators, hunters, and pack animals, their role in modern-day Aloria has largely been reduced by the growing urbanization of the Regalian Empire. Still, the animal has been spread wide and is considered the first canine, having later become the many domesticated dog breeds beloved by Ailor in the modern day. The Wolf has somewhat diversified as well to fit the different terrains it lives in, with several subspecies forming in various areas of Aloria.

Direwolves are among the largest animals in the Northern regions, standing proud and hungry at the top of numerous food-chains. Aggressive and clever, these solitary hunters are nearly apex predators. If not for said solitary nature, they would likely overrun larger settlements and cities given their indomitable size and ferocity. Few first hand encounters are survived, leaving many to speculate about what exactly these massive wolves are truly capable of.
Drowdan Dire Wolf
The Drowdan Dire Wolf has become the subject of many Drowdar bogeyman-like tales, using the wolf’s fierceness to quell young children's curiosity of venturing outside their citadels. Vicious and hyper-aggressive, this beast is a constant threat to the dark-skinned elves that patrol their Void-infested lands and a prime example of how planar essence can change apex predators into something even worse. The beast was an unwanted discovery, found by an elf who’d only just escaped its clutches. These wolves are known for their fierce bite and their infamous overcoats that act almost like a natural armor. To this day, the Drowdar still hunt these creature in an everlasting struggle against the mutant canine ferocity, though more often than not, the Drowdan Dire Wolf is actually hunting them.
Red Fur Fox
The Red Fur Fox of Dragenthal is a common sight for anyone on the western side of the Regalian Archipelago, including Anglia and Vixhall. A long loved sigil of the Dragenthaler people, the red fox has and will continue to be a symbol that represents the Heartland. As a savvy and beloved animal, it continues to thrive in captivity as it has been recently domesticated and is now a frequently hunted animal in Dragenthal Due to their rather recent integration into Ailor societies, only the wealthy or extremely patient are able to truly domesticate a fox into forming a bond. Many foxes either outright reject the owner’s attempts to bond with it, or despise them so much that they attack them. The reason for their investigative domestication is due to this trait, where they almost exhibit some form of judgement or sentient thought, though no progress has been made nor are there any set guidelines for what a Red Fur Fox prefers.
Gold Fur Fenneque
The Golden Fur Fenneque is a truly unique fox whose fur has a chameleon ability that assumes the color of the surrounding environment. When it is killed, this pelt turns Gold-like and reflective. The animal was once viewed as sacred when the Oldt Fayth reigned in Aloria but when Unionism arrived in the region the Fenneque is native to, the Forriesta Natal of the Regalian Archipelago, its population plummeted to near endangerment. While local laws and customs help the species survive, it will continue to be threatened as the civilized population of Aloria grows, and the hidden, dark and unexplored places of the world like the deep forest of the Natal are revealed.
White Calemberger Fox
The White Calemberger Fox is seen by many as the defining image of the Calemberg region of the Regalian Archipelago. The canine has roamed the snowy terrain for nearly four hundred years, and has been noted by the local Ailor for its unique ability to disguise its fur color by rolling in the earth and snow. The animal has the patronage and protection of the ruling family in Calemberg, who are one of the largest suppliers of the fox’s soft white fur to the wealthy and affluent across Aloria.
Snowpaw Felicis
The Snowpaw Felicis is a canine creature that originates from the snowy plains of Ithania. It bears a close resemblance to the many wolves of Aloria, though it is drastically different in its behavioural patterns. The Felicis plays a part in the Ithanian way of life and culture, especially through interaction with the highborns of the realm who prize the creature for various reasons; not limited to merely its fur, but also for its loyal behaviour and mating patterns. Richer families also have been known to involve the Felicis heavily with any hunting sport they may partake in, although the animal is less than ideal for this. The canine is especially close to the Valeur population of the Ithanian culture, and it is hardly uncommon to see an Ithanian family crest decorated with the animal.
Ceardian Bloodhound
Among the breeds of dogs in Aloria, the Ceardian Bloodhound stands out as a unique creature. It’s loyalty and intelligence has caused it to become one of the most sought after dogs in Aloria, while its strong scenting ability makes it a master of the hunt. Despite its use in such a ferocious activity, it is also a sociable animal, quickly getting comfortable and settling down if or when trained properly.
Calemberger Beagle
The Calemberger Beagle is a relatively small hounddog, made notorious across Aloria for its proficiency in detecting and killing simple game in large amounts. They were bred initially as companion pets, but over time, as the best hunting hounds reproduced more, they developed an outstanding sense of smell. Often raised and released by owners in packs, they will sniff out: hares, squirrels, and on occasion, foxes, and then proceed to take the animal down, bringing the carcass back in one piece for their master. Since being specifically reared to hunt since their initial discovery, they have even been used for entertainment by the rich who have competitions on whose group acquires the most prey.
Calemberger Dachsl
Throughout the vast amounts of canines that find their ways in Aloria, the Calemberger Dachsl is a rather unique one, for its small size, though this never discourages it from being a famous enemy of small prey. Despite its humble size, the Dachsl holds a rather brave and feisty temperament, rarely being frightened away by bigger beasts. The Dachsl is around the size of an average Ailor infant, and weighs only a little more. The Calemberger Dachsl is a famous hunting dog, used mostly for rabbit hole hunting and it can be proudly said that the canine excels in this skill.
Calemberger Dobs
The Calemberger Dobs is a medium to large sized dog that is the third generation from the Calemberger Ardhund, being bred out from the Calemberger Hausweiler to be a more proper breed for the military elite. With the formal integration of the New Regalian Ailor into the Regalian Empire the need for guard dogs became less a necessity and more a cultural nod, and with that a new dog was needed to fill this mascot role, the Calemberger Dobs. In the modern-day there is seldom a prominent New Regalian household or top-ranking general that lacks one of these stoic and proud breeds.
Calemberger Hausweiler
The Calemberger Hausweiler is medium to large-sized dog and a direct ancestor of the Calemberger Ardhund, being bred to fulfill the New Regalian agenda of pushing back the Skagger Horde. Being a capable hunter as well as a guard dog, the Hausweiler became quickly adopted by the New Regalians who took up roles in the military of the Regalian Empire. Over time this military role was given to the Calemberger Dobs, but even still, the Calemberger Hausweiler remains popular as a companion for various guard groups.
Calemberger Ardhund
The Calemberger Ardhund is a medium to large-sized breed, whose history goes back to the days of the Wirtemcaller Kingdom before the New Regalian Ailor formally formed in the area around the modern-day Lordship of Calemberg. What began as a hunting dog in the various forests, this breed was later developed to be a faithful guard against the incursion of the Skagger Horde and their aggression towards the Wirtemcaller generals by the year 70 AC. In the modern-day, the Calemberger Ardhund has continued its original design as a hunting dog of choice for big game hunters in the Calem regions as well as a guard dog for those with aggressive foes on the field of battle.
Anglian Shepherd
The Anglian Shepard is an animal that holds a rare mark of note in the annals of Alorian history. Along with the Common Farm Chicken and a handful of other animals, it is said to be one of the first animals the Ailor themselves tamed. It is notable for its loyalty and intellect, serving both public and agricultural interests well over the years as an attack hound and herd dog. Today, the dog is mostly kept as a pet within the cities while rural Anglian farmers still put the animal to use as they have for the past 300 years and more.
Anglian Laster
The Anglian Laster is one of the several sheepdogs bred by the Anglian people of the Regalian Archipelago. This animal has a long history, being one of the last species of wild dog the Anglians domesticated. The Anglian Laster is highly protective, as only after all the sheep and other animals have been securely locked up will this dog settle down. The Laster is popular among homes across Dorinn and Anglia, with a few reaching the urban centers of other areas.
Anglian Caelorulv
The Anglian Caelorulv is an old breed that has both high prestige and a long history of being a common pet among the nobility and shepherds of the Anglian plains. The Caelorulv was originally one of the many shepherd breeds at the start of the Regalian Empire, though quickly gained popularity as the Western Plains became inhabited by the Anglian people. Interbreeding with other species eventually split the domesticated dog breed into the “Royal” and “Common” Caelorulv, each having their own unique characteristics and popularities.
Ithanian Gracee
The Ithanian Gracee was developed by Ithanians living in Vixhall around 170 AC, and has since developed into a popular animal among the upper classes. It has a simple elegance to it, and a great deal of energy, but still responds to commands well after being trained. Additionally, it is generally a quiet animal and tends to avoid yapping like the purse dogs of the wider Ithanian dog pool.
Ithanian Laceurci
The Ithanian Laceurci is a small sized lap dog breed in which the Ithanian Ailor finally saw full success in their aggressive breeding to produce an ideal animal accessory. On the opposite end of the spectrum from the proud Ithanian Puffe Cien, this dog is seen with fondness as the ideal small dog, able to be carried by purse or left to wander the tea party rooms of various Ithanian manors. Being free of birth defects and boasting a longer life span, the Ithanian Laceurci has grown to become one of the most popular court breeds of recent times. In the modern day, with the civil unrest in the Ithanian Sovereignty, this Ithanian pocket pooch is often left to its own devices as its Ithanian masters plot for the security of their Culture amidst progressive male rule.
Ithanian Sucre Cien
The Ithanian Sucre Cien is an Ithanian breed of dog, produced by selective breeding and auctioned off around urbanized areas. Its rapid growth in numbers and unique appearance has earned the dog the name “Sucre Cien”, which directly translates to “Sugar Dog” in common. This is accounted for the fact that a laying Sucre Cien resembles a pile of sugar, due to their flourishing, long, snow-white hair and small figure. The dogs are most commonly carried, as when they walk their hair picks up dirt and other things that require it to be cleaned out. With love and compassion, this dog is a mixed bag; loyal to its owner, but needy. It is antisocial to others when not properly introduced to the world. This, and its ear-piercingly renowned high-pitched bark that classifies as more of a ‘yapping,’ earns the Ithanian Sucre Cien more than its fair share of infamy. Even then, any of high wealth or prestige seeking to pamper a loving and fluffy, tiny companion, often get directed to this breed, and end up happy with it.
Ithanian Puffe Cien
The Ithanian Puffe Cien much like its sister breed, the Mini Strouffle, is a medium sized fluffy dog bred for the sake of court intrigue among the Ithanian Ailor. As the notion of using smaller breeds as accessories took over the scene of the Ithanian royal courts, there became a greater desire to have a dog to be with you as you traveled the many long hallways and corridors of the various palaces and estates. This idea of accessorizing a pet grew to include being able to style the grooming of one's dog for greater individuality and thus the Ithanian Puffe Cien came to be. In the modern day, this breed can be seen at the side of their Ithanian masters, ever expanding the idea of what haute culture truly is.
Yuen Doge
Yuen Doges are unique canines and the most well-known breed of all the varieties that exist in distant Dexai. Originally bred for hunting by the War Dynasty, the animal was ultimately adopted by the wider populace as a general pet, where it has grown very popular. This popularity extends to wider Aloria, where the animal’s reputation as a clean-freak and an independent spirit in addition to its cute physical appearance makes it highly sought after.
Mini Strouffle
The Mini Strouffle is a medium sized, fluffy dog, well known as the lap dog among the Ithanian Ailor. Originally a hunting companion used in the Ithanian marshes, over time this fluffy dog has been adopted into the over the top culture of its Ailor masters. In fact, only a small percentage are still raised to hunt along the rivers, the vast majority fulfill the court intrigue of the Ithanian Ailor. Despite recent politics in the Ithanian Sovereignty, the Mini Strouffle remains a popular breed among its people.

Felines
Tsarr Cat
The Tsarr Cat is a rare species of feline found only on Etosil, and specifically most often in the homes of Vladno citizens. Formerly existing as a naturally occurring feline on Etosil, rigorous domestication and breeding led to them becoming a close reflection of the Vladno culture. The Tsarr Cat is one of the largest domesticated cats in Aloria, and retains many of the traits of its wild ancestor. Today, the Tsarr Cat is a trademark to the home of every Vladno family and serves them loyally as a living cultural reminder.
Daendroque Jungle Cat
These large prowling cats—native only to the Jungles of Daendroc—are responsible for a large number of deaths of Altalar and Daendroc wildlife. They are the bane of travelers, as their immense size and climbing prowess makes them a hazard to even the most wary of Altalar. A nuisance to the Nelfin, the Great Jungle Cat has been known to fearlessly bound into Elven settlements in the dark of the night, looking for whatever food they can find, be it animal or Elf. Many fear or loathe these prowling beasts.
Black Pathor
The Black Pathor is an animal native to Daendroc and it is well known for its cool attitude. It was often confused with the Great Jungle Cat before the rise of the Allorn Empire, which saw the feline as the idealized version of a Asha slave: silent, and obedient. Following the Cataclysm, the distinctions between the Black Pathor and its larger cousin were lost for a time, before eventually being distinguished as separate species once more. The two animals share many similar features; however, the Black Pathor lacks the prominent over-sized canine teeth that perpetually force open a Great Jungle Cat’s mouth. Today, the animal remains a symbol of the aloof jungle hunter, and is unlikely to once again be confused for its wilder and fiercer relative.
Long Shiveaux
The Long Shiveaux has a long history behind its decades of attempted domestication, resulting now in a medium-sized cat that is often found on the streets of Ithania as a rugged, urban street cat. With the ability to form close bonds with others, its complacent attitude and friendliness makes it a great companion. However, in cities or tight spaces, they progress to a more aggressive and feral state, making them quite a challenge for city-living owners of the Paintbrush Cat. Despite these issues, its long-haired face can win over many hearts, and some even say that by nuzzling against them, the feline can hear the other’s thoughts.
Sibraxas
The Sibraxas is one of many hazards in the hostile regions of The North Belt. It is a nuisance to both travelers brave enough to traverse the snowy landscape, and to those who live there. Originating in Jorrhildr, they later traveled across the north and adapted to the ever-growing harsh terrain. But to many pretentious Ithanians and Altalar, the creature is merely proof of the savagery of the Asha Race and their lackluster origin. They propagate this opinion by pointing to the Sibraxas’ similarities to the Rakhet Asha, and claiming unknown Magic or simply time allowed this savage animal to adapt into the Asha, all relatively recently in Alorian history as a way to deny the Asha their ancient past. The Sibraxas, however, is ignorant to all of this and traverses the harsh environments it lives with amazing speed and stealth, which has allowed this saber-toothed feline to be one of the most efficient hunters of the northern landmasses.
Ceardian Bobcat
The Ceardian Bobcat is a medium-sized wild cat native to Oldt Era, though the feline has since spread to Essalonia following the Destruction of Old Ceardia. Its name comes from its short tail.The Bobcat dwells in forests, often keeping away from sentient races unless the lure of an unattended Common Farm Chicken or two is too much for a starving individual.
Ithanian Bearded Desert Cat
The Ithanian Bearded Desert Cat is a feline that has weaseled itself into the households of countless Alorians. Its small size, friendly attitude, and distinctive beard-like tuft have earned it a reputation as one of the best pets in the world. Their appeal was quickly exploited upon their first discovery due to its popularity, and the feline remained an animal exclusive to Ithania for only a few months before being shipped overseas. The former hunting instincts of the Bearded Cat have since left them, instead they have been replaced by a disposition to lay about and wait for someone to feed them. With the popularity it holds nowadays, one would be hard-pressed to have not seen at least one of these animals in the any village they come across.
Domestic Tabby
For centuries, cats have been the apex titleholder of domesticated pet animals, flourishing in the Elven Empire as the choice household companion, and subsequently the Regalian Empire. The domesticated Tabby Cat is an affectionate animal, known for its ease of living harmoniously and forming co-dependency wherever they may be found as useful vermin hunters. In modern times, they continue to be doted upon and cherished by many denizens of Aloria.
Long Fluff Ithanian
The Long Fluff Ithanian is a large, long-haired domesticated cat native to Ithania; known and prized for its heavy coat of fur. They are found very commonly in more wealthy homes in Ithania, but have recently begun becoming more commonplace in Regalia, mostly among Ithanian families and those who have travelled to Ithania and purchased a cat as a souvenir of sorts. These cats are quite expensive, require high maintenance, and are hard to find outside of Ithania, meaning they can only be sighted in Regalia in the homes of the wealthy—be it Ithanians or Nobility.
Anglian Missier
The Anglian Missier is truly a sight to behold with eyes more colorful and flamboyant than any other cat that they remind Alorians of the night sky. An animal commonly associated with Anglian culture, this particular feline is a bright-furred cat with eyes that have commonly been described as “out of this world”. Though originally from sparse forests near the Dragoncrown Peaks of Anglia, the Missier has since become entirely extinct in the wild, as it only survives from Anglian domestication and breeding. While It’s never been a plentiful animal, it has always been a well-known one due to its striking appearance. Nowadays, wealthy Anglian farmers and Anglian nobility keep these cats around because of their unique looks and powerful pest-catching capabilities.
Elven Longear
The Elven Longear is an ancient species of cat known to the early Elves of Teled Methen before they spread out into wider Daen and even nearby Hadar. Sadly while their population was recovering well, nearing levels of their existence pre-Cataclysm, warfare has cut down their numbers in Daendroc and extinguished it entirely in Hadar. The Elven Longear is well known for its pointed ears and diverse, distinct breeds in domesticated areas. It is closely tied to the Cielothar and Altalar, but does exist in some Ailor areas, especially the recently developed “New Breed.” It is likely the animal will continue to survive and slink through urban and wild environments for many years to come.
Ularen Lion
The Ularen Lion was once one of the most deadly predators of the Ularen Plains, harassing and hunting all who entered their domain. Unfortunately, time has not been kind to them, reducing them in physical size but also spreading them up to Ithania and possibly elsewhere. They are most notable for their large size, the manes that appear on males but also their highly complex human social groups. The Lion is also known for its pale coats of fur, particularly white, which is used by the extravagant School of the Lion Pelt as part of their uniforms. While the animal is not as populous as it once was, its capacity to survive undoubtedly means it will be around for years to come.

Imperial Seal
The Imperial Seal, colloquially known as the Great Seal, is renowned for its immense size and illustrious black coat of fur. It resides in the Drixagh region primarily within and along the body of water directly between the Czabri Bone Shores and the Throatcaps and Walds. There was once a time where this animal was ample in number, yet throughout the years, Kalmarran raiders have taken it upon themselves to hunt the Imperial Seal for its valuable blubber. They do so without regard for overexploitation, which has caused its subsequent near-extinction.
Blubber Seal
As chubby as they are smart, Blubber Seals are a frequent traveler of the seas around Ellador and the Far North. They are often sought after and used by hunters for their blubber-like flesh reserves, which are easily converted into oil for lighting lamps or as food during tough times. They are also known to become semi-feral should they live near and be fed by Humans. Despite having an awkward appearance, the animal is swift underwater and fully capable of feeding itself. The Blubber Seal will no doubt continue to contribute to the blubber business and provide light for many houses for years to come.
Starv Seal
The Starv Seal is a sleek and common seal found throughout the northern regions of Aloria. It long avoided civilization, and it was only near 100 AC that it was discerned to be a separate species and not just young Blubber Seals. The animal is notable for its unique teeth that help it feast on krill, as well as for its competitive nature, performing diving contests to retrieve notable animals or other prizes from the depths to prove themselves. As whaling increases, their competitor for food being the various species of northern whales, are unlikely to reassert themselves thus allowing the Starv Seal to continue to grow in population.
Rockskin Walrus
The Rockskin Walrus is an animal which has been revered by northern fishermen since its first discovery. Over the years, many negligent hunters have underestimated these beasts’ strength and have fallen victim to their sharp tusks. The Walrus has a small part in Velheim stories told to children in hopes to keep them away from the shores they occupy. Despite being a victim to the many brave hunters who manage to take them down, their population has maintained itself in recent years. Many find the Walruses extremely useful due to the amount of ivory, fat, and meat that even one of them can yield.

Elasmo
The Elasmo is a creature thought to have lived since the dawn of civilization in Aloria but is more well known today as the only species of overtly hostile horse to live. It is a short horse too, with thick but short legs as well as a sharp horn that emerges from the center of its forehead that it uses to charge and strike at enemies. Highly territorial, anyone who faces down the Elasmo should take care not to get themselves impaled by its horn or kicked by their hard, thick hooves. Spread across the world, their numbers have been suffering the last few years as urban environments expand themselves into the equine’s territory. While some groups have almost vanished, others survive and the species will likely continue to survive in the years to come.
Whitebred Elladorian
The Whitebred Elladorian is a pure white horse that hails from Ellador and is highly sought out by the wealthier men and women of the Regalian Empire. While there exists several minor theories as to possible other locations of origin, Ellador has remained its origin point in the scholarly community. The animal became well known during the Skagger Wars and remains a symbol of valor and power for the Regalian Empire itself. The horse is noted for its odd hooves and a thick coat of hair, both of which help it survive in the freezing wilderness of its natural home. It also possesses blue eyes like a variety of other Elladorian wildlife. Given recent turbulent events in the North, some fear that the animal will be rendered extinct in reprisal for the Regalian Empire, but their popularity and the sums nobles are willing to pay for them is sure to force many to reconsider their actions before a blow is struck to stain the white coat red.
Pure Black Calemberger
The Pure Black Calemberger is a loyal mount and a symbol of military superiority. This breed of horse is exclusively bred in Calemberg and Hinter Calem, and are highly revered war beasts. Taller than a man when on all fours, and built for power and stamina in the field, these steeds tend to be found in the possession of key military figures or the cavalry of wealthier high nobility across the Regalian Archipelago. They have also been the turning point in many past battles, giving the cavalry a decisive edge with their longevity and speed.
Spotted Ceardian
The Spotted Ceardian is an old horse breed that originated on Ceardia, from which it was subsequently spread across the entire Ailor world. While its homeland is now gone, consumed by dark forces, the horse still lives across the world. While not the fastest animal, it is built for endurance and is friendly with most people. It is often used by the lower class and is also noted for its large ears that help it hear very well but can lead to deafness in their old age. They are also clearly recognized by their spotted bodies.
Chestnut Dredger
The Chestnut Dredger is a powerful, stout horse breed known for their stoic, workaholic nature. Their bodies are perfect for the draft work many put them to, and they are used in various water-logged soil regions of the Regalian Empire in addition to living in all Anglian populations across Aloria. They are also known for their aggressive mating periods, which work the males of the breed into such a frenzy they might break barn doors just to get to the mares. The animal is likely to remain well and alive in Aloria unless something disastrous strikes the strong and silent breed.
Painted Lancierron
One of the fastest stallions in Ithania, the Painted Lancierron is a horse known for its skinny physique and chestnut brown spotted fur. This stallion has made a great impact on jousting and the world of racing, the skinny horse making up for its lack of power with speed. People believe the Lancierron has great importance - mostly because there is currently no other breed of horse that can compete with the steed. In the present day, the Painted Lancierron is being domesticated and has started showing up in a manner of events; some even being chosen as a Viridian Knight’s preferred species of horse.
Casecabillas Stallion
The Casecabillas Stallion has been part of the lives of Altalar since the dawn of their civilization. Evolving into a beast of war, the devastation of the Cataclysm saw their usage reduced to only the Avanthar who have remained their primary trainers and riders today. The horse is well known for its large, powerful body as well as the variety of colors its coat can come in, save white. The animal is also noted for its complex mind and high intellect, as well as for a currently unexplained fear and dislike of magic despite serving as the animal of choice for a military filled with mages for centuries. While recent military events have disrupted the balance of the Ularen Plains, it is unlikely it will hurt the animal in the long term considering how much they have survived through.
Two-Horned Horse
The Two-Horned Horse has an unknown past and an unfortunately bleak future. Despite having survived an attempt to kill them off by Unionists, the animal has managed to survive for now in the wild areas of Basta. They are incredibly skittish animals and easily spooked, capable of wielding their two horns well if forced into a position that they need to use them. The animal is also domesticated but has few riders except some members of the School of Villiers-Eclaire.
Jungle Rhino
The Jungle Rhino is relatively unknown to the wider world despite its large size and role in the Sendrassian Civil War. It was a horrific tool of infanticide, used by both sides, which resulted in those populations on the Frzzsollona Peninsula being annihilated, and those nearby to flee from revenge carried out by the Void convert Allar at the end of the war. The animal is known for its bulky size, heavyweight and a single horn on the end of its snout. While rare to outsiders, with no specimens surviving off of Sendras for more than a few years, the animal is pursued for its valuable horn which is unique as it is not made of ivory, but keratin. However, given the vastness of Sendras, it is unlikely the animal will be hunted to extinction by the vengeful Void converts or nefarious poachers.

Drowda Vas Pirion
The Drowda Vas Pirion is an incredibly large and dangerous bat native to Drowda, specifically originating from the region closest to Estel's Grave. They feed off of the blood of their prey, and their appearance will shift based on their primary food source. This bat also carries a highly toxic venom, which is injected through its needle-like teeth. The creature's only apparent weakness is its need to sleep for around six hours a day, as it is very difficult to wake a sleeping Vas Pirion during this sleeping cycle.
Jungle Veneerion
The Jungle Veneerion is a large, herbivorous bat native to the jungles of Daendroc, known for its sharp fangs, thick black fur, and large wings. Its demonic appearance has served as a cause for fear among locals, closely linking it as something of superstition. In reality, the creature’s most menacing features, its fangs, serve to puncture the cacao pods which constitute the majority of its diet. Once commonplace in Daendroc, it has since been killed on sight resulting in a dwindling of its numbers. The Veneerion is rarely seen outside of the jungle, only venturing out to civilized areas when the food supply falls too low in their natural habitat to sustain them.

Three Tusk Tuverophant
The Three Tusk Tuverophant is a large land mammal from Sendras known to both outsiders and natives for centuries. While its numbers were damaged by the Sendrassian Civil War, they still remain on Sendras in a wild,but also domesticated form on Hadaria. Their three tusks are what gives them their name, though they are also known for their red-brown coat that traps moisture to cool them, which also allows plants to grow on their body. They are also known for their aggressive defense, as if you devote to engaging them; they will not stop until you’ve fled or you are dead. It is currently known if the Sendrassian Empire has mutated specimens of this race or if they even make use of it, but it is known well in wider Aloria.
Gargantuan Stoneback Phant
Having been named for their immense size and partial rocky coating, the Gargantuan Stoneback Phant is both a remarkable and feared titan of a creature from the deserts of Farah'deen. It is common for Stonebacks to be mistaken for dunes or rocky hills while resting. When mobile, however, their thundering footsteps and immense size make them stand out like a sore thumb among the landscape. Stonebacks have had minimal impact on the world, other than having been a thorn in the sides of Qadir and Songaskia settlements for as long as the dragons that once soared the skies were. However, in stark contrast to the dragons, the Stoneback Phant remains a menace to this day, and is responsible for the demolition of cities and more lives than one can count.
Pygmee Trunk Tucker
The Pygmee Trunk Tucker is the smallest of all Elephau in Aloria, but also the most distant from all of the others, being located on the jungled eastern islands of Dexai, now dominated by urban centers dedicated to trading. Thanks to the recent establishment of many of these settlements, their population has plummeted, and a majority now live in captivity or domesticated surroundings. Their appearance and attitude, however, is sure to earn them fans among the Sihai youth, and while for now, their survival in the wild is up in the air, the animal will undoubtedly endeavor over the coming centuries with the aid from smitten animal lovers.
Wódbehaeri
An essential though terrifying piece of Wolathar Kathar society, the Wódbehaeri are a species of massive Elephau that dwarf all other types. Their impressive size and strength make them fantastic beasts of transport and war. The most common use for them runs among the Wolathar in their war against the Avanthar and Cielothar. The Wódbehaeri are generally left alone by other sentient Races, given their presence is solely within the boundaries of the Dread Empire, primarily in the Wolond Walds of Daen. They are a hard beast to fell, but with the march of progress in Alorian society, this ancient creature is unlikely to endure, even if the Kathar mutate it even more than they already have.

Jaded Roo
The Jaded Roo is a large marsupial well known to the Colonial Ailor and Midlands Url of Essalonia. A curious animal for its size and capability to hop quickly across the local plains, the Jaded Roo is also perpetually seen as an aggressive animal. Patches of black fur above its large eyes give it a look of constant annoyance though the animals only lash out with kicks or swipes in the mating season or when members of their “mobs” (the term assigned to groups of the animal) are threatened. They remain populous, but that might change when the New Ceardian Colonies push into their home of rolling, grassy hills.
Daendroque Possum
The Daendroque Possum is one of the few marsupials in Aloria and is also the smallest. It has a recent history, being tied to Daendroque political and military ideas which has given it part of its name. The animal is nocturnal and is reported to constantly hang by their tails though this is only possible with young members of the species. The Daendroque Possum is also capable of a unique body function, “playing dead,” to avoid hostile interactions with large predators who would likely kill them otherwise.
Thylan
Similar to the Ogres of Ellador in that they are a near-sentient mammalian species the Thylan have been a non-dominating feature of Jorrhildr since pre-Cataclysm times. As tall as a Dwarf and easily outnumbering the Url and Velheim Ailor that live alongside them, Thylan are nevertheless badly adapted for the various demanding climates of Jorrhildr. Due to their failure to adapt properly, the Thylan are currently considered a common, though manageable threat or, in some particularly well-fortified areas, a pest. In recent years, however, Jorrhildr’s numerous Seraph ruins have garnered ever more scrutiny from the outside world, though reaching them requires a long and dangerous trek through Thylan-infested lands.

Anglian Cow
The Anglian Cow is a diverse species of bovid with a long history alongside the farmers of the Regalian Archipelago. With the expansion of the Regalian Empire into Aloria, the Anglian Cow and its three different Breeds have proliferated across Alorian agriculture. The animal - whose milk generates dairy products and whose meat feeds the masses - is known to all peoples across the world.
Ithanian Lait-Blanc
The Ithanian Lait-Blanc is a bovine of elegant poise originating from Ithania, where it survived and was refined from an earlier species which was lost in the Cataclysm and Wildering that consumed Daen. The animal is well known for its links to the moon in Ithanian Culture, as well as for its pure, pre-pasteurized milk produced thanks to a unique internal organ and the consumption of Fireweed. As a result, it is usually used as a dairy cow and the goods made from its pure white milk give it its name and some fame in the culinary world.
Gallovian Geep
The Gallovian Geep is a creature covered in dark colored wool that has adapted to the rocky terrain of Gallovia. The Geep has unknown origins, with some assuming the Elves brought it to the region from elsewhere in Aloria while others feel they are native to the mountains that cover the island in which they inhabit. Regardless of their origins, the Gallovian Geep has provided milk, wool, and meat for the native Gallovians for over two centuries. In recent years, their numbers near the main cities have been reduced as the Gallovians pull them back to the mountains to prevent them from being bred into average sheep and goat stocks.
Shadow Bovine
The Shadow Bovine is one of the most unfortunate animals in Aloria and is the primary source of meat for the Kathar-led Dread Empire in the Far West of Aloria. The beast was produced through carefully applied Void mutations on a long-dead species of bovine, making the animals larger, forcing them to mature rapidly and reproduce at an amazingly quick rate. They also became extremely aggressive and serve as the pinnacle of domesticated Void wildlife for the Kathar, proving to their population that anything can be twisted into the perfect tool through the use of the Void.
Sheep
Sheep are long domesticated animals well known to the Ailor of Aloria, likely originating from the ancient continent of Ceardia. Useful for their shearable wool, which can be made into cloth for garments, the animal spread with Ailor across Aloria wherever they went and has diversified into several breeds based on region and cultural taste. The animal is also useful for its meat, with mutton being a common meat next to fish, pork and beef in the culinary creations of many Races. Their extreme herd mentality can be somewhat troublesome, but it also makes them easily controlled.
Goat
Goats have been a longstanding member of the agricultural community across Aloria. Likely originating on Ceardia with the ancient Ailor, they were spread as the Ailor spread, from within the holds of Altalar slave ships to the ships of those departing Ceardia for better pastures beyond the constant warfare. Eventually, the Goat became widespread to the point of commonality and it is now used by many Races, the result being several different breeds suiting a variety of climates, terrains, and tastes.
Wooly White Bison
The Wooly White Bison is a wholly domesticated bovine closely tied to the Orcs, as they brought it with them from their homeland during the Great Leaving. Of impressive size and weight, the Bison is still surprisingly quick on its hooves, and while often used as a source of meat and labor, it has also seen use as a mount in Orcish armies. They are known for their bright white coat, but also for the impressive Lug-Bison, a mutation in the species which produces huge, impressive beasts of great size and strength which lead their herds across their grazing fields and plains. The Wooly White Bison is heavily devoted to Orcs, so much so that they will become aggressive and wild should they lack the presence of one, which means that the two are always located near each other.
Myakgërus
While the elite of the Shenathar Kathar are often conveyed either by slaves or exotic, Void Essence-twisted equines, there is an animal that almost all native-born Shenathar are familiar with: the Myakgërus. Strangely coldblooded, despite being mammals, they are also notable for their boney skulls. They are a common animal in the Kathar Steppes found in the southern half of Saivale, where they are herded and ridden, and exist elsewhere in the broader Dread Empire as beasts of burden. They are also a well-enjoyed food source and are broadly considered the animal second to only the Shadow Bovine in local importance.

Northern Moose
The Northern Moose is a massive mammal that openly roams the landscape of Jorrhildr. Standing taller than the average Ailor, the Northern Moose is truly a majestic sight to behold, given it’s popularity among the locals. Due to the animal’s resistant nature, it has come to be widely accepted as the symbol of Jorrhildr and its denizens, acting as a testament to their much-bolstered hardiness.
Imperial Stag Deer
The Imperial Stag Deer is one of the few creatures in Aloria privileged to be one of the few animals hunted exclusively by the Imperial Family of the Regalian Empire and have long been cordoned off in Imperial Hunting Grounds. They suffered under Justinian I as Morgann Kade hunted them extensively to fuel his own personal opulence; they have been recovering ever since and exist in the popular consciousness through a variety of fantastical works of art, both visual and oral, which describe these kings and queens of the forest.
Antelluion
Elegant, yet somewhat unintelligent, the Antelluion are similar to the common deer in all but a few aspects of their appearance. They are much larger than a typical deer and possess a single curved horn that is frequently prized for its strength and beauty. For years, they have lived in the Archipelago and in the grasslands of Ithania, mainly existing as something pretty for hikers to spot. While they are sometimes hunted for their horns and kept as menagerie creatures, there are not many other uses for the animal besides aesthetics. Today, Antelluion thrive as simple beasts, roaming and surviving as they have throughout generations.
Stand Antler
The Stand Antler is one of the North Skags most notable woodland herbivores. They have been present in Aloria before the wildlife of their homes were touched by colonists, Altalar and Ailor alike. The Stand Antler also has a role in winter and Velheim regional folklore. Its behavior makes it an easy animal to track and hunt, but its hunting is strictly controlled by stern rules put in place by the Kingdom of Nordskag’s upper classes.
Qilin
The Qilin is a skittish variety of deer found in the Far East and has lived in the northern mountains of Dexai for centuries. With a lithe and seemingly otherworldly appearance thanks to their shimmering fur, the Qilin are hailed as mystical, beautiful, and in some cases, tied to the White Loong Dragons by the various Sihai Dynasties which know of them. Today, their numbers are recovering after a period of unfortunate death and slaughter, and those that hunt them might face some social pressures not to openly do so.
Tarkkin Metsähivri
The Tarkkin Metsähivri is a species of reindeer native to areas of the Throatcapstog (forests found in western Drixagh), under the control of the Tarkkin Ailor, a Northland Culture split between two tribal groups. The one found in these forests, the Sudemo, are heavily dependent on the Metsähivri for survival, and in return, even wild members of the species have become entirely comfortable with the presence of Ailor and the other sentient Races. Their physical shape is lean and built for slipping through the dense northern woodlands that they call home, and overall, they are a unique feature of the region and of the Tarkkin people who largely care for them.
Bakhshuna Jamal
Bakhshuna Jamals are unique animals in Aloria, adapted to survive the hostile dry terrain of Farah’deen. While their origins are somewhat mysterious, their adaptations to dry climates have made them essential to the Qadir caravans who use them as a central source of transportation. Songaskians are more disdainful of this species, largely due to their reputation for ugliness and having a bad mood, which is generally true. Despite that, the animal is still a remarkable piece of Farah’deen’s landscape and it will likely survive for the coming centuries under the care of those thankful Qadir, but also out in the wild.
Drowdan Stag
Drowdan Stags are beasts built for agility and strength, capable of carrying light burdens and people, which has made them key to the life of many Sihndar Holds in distant Drowda. The animal’s origins are obscure, but their usefulness to the Sihndar has resulted in their presence within the Holds today. Dark in fur color and with a unique shape to their antlers, Drowdan Stags are also marked by their high sociability within the herd, capable of forming collectives of friends whose memory will last long beyond the childhood years that they were developed in.
Deer
Deer exist across Aloria on several temperate climates, but also in more humid areas where they are often far more exotic. Divided into several subspecies as a result, Deer have long been looked to as sources of meat, bone, and pelt by early Cultures and Races in need of such supplies. Deer most often live in forests, but some venture out into plains or grasslands, where they are constantly on the alert for danger. Deer are also common symbols of hunting and fertility within the Cultures of the world because of these and other factors,and because of their spread across Aloria, are likely to endure in all their unique varieties for centuries to come.
Reindeer
The Reindeer is considered by many to be one of the few constants of the north. There might be thaws that melt huge pockets of snow, rockslides that remake the landscape, and even conflict between the regional Races and Cultures which reshape the borders of territory, but the Reindeer will forever remain. Sturdy cervids built for the cold terrain and having survived for millennia since the time of the Allorn Empire, the Reindeer has became an enduring symbol for the north they occupy, especially among the Velheim Ailor who rely on them for survival.

Anglian Weasel
The Anglian Weasel is a small mammal native to Anglia and Dorinn in the Regalian Archipelago. An animal known to have lived in the Archipelago for some time, it has thrived in the plains of Anglia since the Ailor first arrived and has been a pest to farmers for years. A predatory animal, the Weasel commonly hunts mice and small birds, but the reason they are annoying to farmers is their other hunting target, the Common Farm Chicken. They are most noted for their seasonal changes in fur color which some say vary the most of any animal. This changing coat color, in turn, has also resulted in shady business practices where some buy furs supposedly of the highest quality only to have them be that of the Anglian Weasel, a common animal. Despite the fur industry in Anglia and Dorinn, as well as angry farmers, none have been able to halt the large population of this mustelid.
Calemberger White Ferret
While the Calemberger White Ferret’s pelt is well known by the many denizens of the lordship, not many know of their origins. Despite the native region being known for its furs and rustic clothing style, the Calemberger White Ferret isn’t an animal the regular citizen is likely to see on the isle. In reality, the ferret is kept in captivity and harvested for its furs; leaving it unable to roam the wilds properly with a population of next to zero outside of captivity, save for small pockets that escape to the wild accidentally. Calemberger White Ferrets are specially bred for their pure and much sought after white fur, and any ferret exhibiting a dull grey or any other colour fur are either slaughtered without a chance to affect the precious breeding genepool. Despite being kept in captivity, the ferrets are nowhere close to domesticated, and aren’t suitable for a home setting. Since their captivity, the animals have become increasingly feisty, resulting in the reputation of being infamously hard to breed.
Ithanian Minque
The Ithanian Minque is a common mustelid sharing resemblance to a ferret that can often be found rushing about the waterways and riversides of Ithania. As the ever elusive and pursued furred devil of the fresh riverbanks, Minques are held in fond memory by most who share their continent. A very common sight by lakesides, a dear friend to some and good money waiting to be made to others, the Ithanian Minque is well-known on its home continent, and for good reason.
Elladorian Badger
The Elladorian Badger is an animal known for close-knit familial bond as well as their underground burrows known as setts. They are an ancient creature, with ties to half a dozen different peoples through the centuries, from recorded sightings by the Elven Empire to a degree of importance from the Velheim Ailor. They possess a black and white coat, and hibernate throughout the long Ellador winters. The Isldar invasion of Velheim settlements possibly threatens their population, but as of yet, no reports of frozen furry animals have been reported.
Daendroc Weasel
The Daendroc Weasel is a pesky rodent which infamously dwells in the harbors of Daendroc. The weasel is often seen on most seafaring vessels, being loved by the sailors. It is hated as much as it is loved, however, largely due to their frequent theft of food. This weasel is often at odds with the Ghor Ka Bloodscale; when these two creatures meet, it more often than not leads to a violent fight to the death. Daendroc Weasels today are seen in almost any harbor, always near their owner.

Northern Brown Bear
The Northern Brown Bear is a large mammal that inhabits the entire northern region of the Regalian Archipelago. These bears are highly respected by the members of the School of Skagger, as well as the Velheim tribes as a whole. Much of Velheim culture is derived because of their proximity and respect for the Northern Brown Bear, which is considered one of the mightiest animals in the northern wilderness. It features a wide range of pelt colors and so the Northern Brown Bear is sometimes referred to as the Grizzled Bear for these unique fur patterns, however as the name dictates, these patterns and colors always keep a brownish tint to them. The Northern Brown bear was originally thought to be a wide variety of species but was eventually reclassified into the single species that exists today. While bears have a popular spot in folklore as a whole, no other bear is as represented as the Northern Brown Bear.
Grey Bear
The Grey Bear is one of the more common bears in Aloria, inhabiting the southern regions of the Regalian Archipelago. Known for centuries by the locals, they once ranged as far as Calemberg but hunting has reduced them to now only live in and around their homeland. Grey bears are notable for their grey fur, and they teach their cubs the ways of the world while carrying them around on their backs.
Gallovian Black Mountain Bear
Gallovian Black Mountain Bears hold a significant amount of cultural significance to the Highland Ceardian Ailor of Gallovia, the land the Bear calls home. Living in the mountains away from most civilization, the Bear was sought out in times passed and killed as a perceived symbol of the oppressive Skagger Horde that conquered Gallovia for a number of decades. Today, the Bear is allowed to thrive by many as the practice evolved from killing to wrestling. Aspiring masters of the School of Lecgaen or young Highlanders willing to brave great danger and test their mettle seek out the Mountain Bear, all in order to wrestle it into submission. Luckily for them, the animal’s dull claws made such a task easier than it might with other wild creatures, but it is still a great test of power and skill befitting the rugged lands of Gallovia.
Etosian Bear
The Etosian Bear is a small species of bear native to the dry island of Etosil, where it has been known for years to the Ailor settlers. With time, the stories of this animal were exaggerated to fit outsider expectations for a bear, and when the Vladno came, they were initially disappointed but ultimately still molded the animal into a creature that would still help represent their culture. As such, the animal is commonly associated with the Vladno as it is also one of the most common animals they hunt. The Bear is also well known for its dark fur, which helps it blend into the dark stone of Etosil but also for its white “mask” of fur, the pattern genetic and widely varying in composition.

Ridgeback Boar
The Ridgeback Boar is a complex creature, existing as a form of wildlife across the entire stretch of the Regalian Archipelago since before the Cataclysm. As a result of this event and the rise of the Regalian Empire, the animal receded into the many thick forests of the island group. They are most noted for their prominent mohawk of hair, running from their head down their back which gives them their name. Some even feel the Ridgeback Boar is the creature that inspired the fashion of shaving the sides of one's head topped by an uncut mohawk. Many simply know the animal as a proud creature of the hunt and a challenge to any competent huntsman looking for a good story to tell.
Bathogg
Bathoggs are known as a mighty species of Susid native to Guldar, who were transported along with a handful of other animals to Daen by the Orcs. Stocky, independent, and domesticated, they have remained a key source of meat for the Pōlorc who excel in keeping them. However, unlike creatures like the Wooly White Bison, they are not fully devoted to the Orcs and a number have escaped into the wild over the years as a result. These wild members of the species are scattered across Daen, having infiltrated the plains of Daendroc and Ithania where they range in small, close-knit herds. The animal is most commonly compared to the Orcs that brought them to the region, and while some might consider this an insult, the close connection between the Orcs and these short examples of their livestock means that some would likely take it as a compliment.
Pygmee Arloran Pig
The Pygmee Arloran Pig is a diminutive swine once bred exclusively in the Kingdom of Arlora. No one is quite sure how the animal came to live in the region, but in recent years it has been undergoing extensive studies by biologists attempting to determine why this species of swine was so much smaller than other pigs. The pig's other notable trait, aside from its diminutive size, is a set of fleshy wattles on the side and underside of their neck. Due to the recent Bone Horror Crisis, the animal's population has continued to drop, and it may go extinct someday soon if the Bone Horrors have their way.
Urdthogg
The Urdthogg is a sleek, swift beast inherently found among the Urdweld subspecies of the Dwarves in Ellador. Newly surfaced with the Urdwelf, the wider Dwarven population is very interested in these beasts and their capabilities to traverse underground and navigate tunnels almost like second nature. Kings and Warlords within Dwarven hierarchies are paying top coin for Urdwelders to breed these creatures and train them for military use. Even then, Urdwelds are being paid to teach these lords how to successfully use these beasts themselves, as the Urdthogg is surprisingly responsive to the Dwarven tongue, and commands if taught properly. Today, the Urdthogg numbers are beginning to grow steadily as the demand for them also grows.

Antelabbit
The Antelabbit is a terrifying creature, thought to be a Void corruption of some ancient rabbit unfortunate enough to be within the energy’s corrupting reach in the Fifth Void Invasion. It appeared like any other common rabbit but hidden just barely beneath its surface are savage features that aid it in its hunting and consumption of meat. The animal has even been known to eat other members of its species and those hunters who are paid enough to pursue them know to never underestimate these little furry beasts.
Rabbit
Rabbits are a common species of mammal native to many temperate areas of Aloria, and closely related to the similarly populous Hare, which is more widely spread. The two, while related, are very different. Rabbits are known for their ability to be domesticated and general personification of being cute and cuddly. They are commonly seen as signs of springtime, and along with eggs, are frequently viewed as symbols of fertility by many commoners across all of Aloria.
Hare
Hares are a common species of mammal native to many regions of Aloria and beyond. They are also closely related to the similarly populous Rabbit, who are less widely spread given that species keep to temperate regions. The two, while related, are very different, with Hares marked by their larger bodies and much longer ears. They are generally seen as tricksters in Qadir and Songaskian society, but in the wilder world they are commonly just seen as good and easy targets for beginning hunters.

Fat Bulb Back
Fat Bulb Backs are a species of whale well known in the north half of Aloria. They have a large size and a well known form, with plenty of bodily resources for whalers, which is one of the reasons their populations are on the decline. The decline has been helped in recent years as world events have now opened previously hidden and protected nursing grounds. The animals are also well known for their unique minor appearance differences between each individual.
Air Pocket Whale
Bursting from the long, slow waves of the Western Calms is the Air Pocket Whale, a playful, aquatic mammal that calls the warmer waters around Ithania home. The species’ peculiar name comes from the unique characteristic of the animal, which are two large air sacs that dominate the back of the creature. These air sacs act as special ballasts, granting them superior control of the animal’s depth in the water. Original citings of the Air Pocket Whale come from the early years after the Cataclysm, roughly 40 AC. Early records demonstrate the incredibly friendly nature of the species, which often jump and play along with boats that sail in the region. To this day, tourists who travel to the Western Calms often take special day trips out to popular gathering places for Air Pocket Whales, so that they may witness the spectacle of the graceful creatures as they bob and dive among the surf. There are several small coastal towns in Ithania that survive solely off of such tours, as well as selling the surprisingly delicious flesh of the animals.
White Fair Fin
A highly intelligent social species, the White Fair Fin has existed relatively undisturbed in Aloria for countless centuries. Occasionally caught by accident in a fisherman's nets, these medium-sized creatures live in large groups called pods and feed on small fish and mollusks. They are noted as having cultural importance to the Daendroque Ailor, being seen as carefree features of the sea, which they exemplify in their friendliness and relative abundance.
Rockback Whale
The Rockback Whale is a unique species of whale endemic to the coasts of Sendrass and the western coast of Farah’deen. The creature was only known in Elven myths, as tales told of islands growing on the back of huge fish before they vanished into the waves once more. It was only after the Cataclysm that these myths were proven right, if not somewhat exaggerated, when Allar vessels first ventured out beyond their shores to seek a refuge from the Mu-Allar. Known to the wider world ever since, these creatures have inspired beauty and mystery as they possess a unique skin on their backs that help clams, barnacles and sea moss to grow. With the Bone Horror Crisis unleashing a horde of undead bone sea monsters out from Hadaria into southern waters, the Rockback Whale’s future is uncertain.
Salt Sea Spinphin
The Salt Sea Spinphin is a species of dolphin native to the warmer waters of Aloria. Well known over the centuries, perhaps even before the Altalar formed the Allorn Empire, the species is best known for its pale coloration and its unique spinning jump which it performs as a pleasant act of happiness. Additionally, the animal is highly social and has suffered minimal impact over the centuries as few have hunted it for its meat beyond those seeking to cater to certain wealthy crowds.

Regalian Spriggan
Regalian Spriggans are beautiful, fairy-like birds native to the Regalian Crown Isle. This strange bird is a feature of many fairy tales and superstitions told to children, namely due to their appearance, which is often likened to a pixie’s, or a sprite’s. Their uniquely green colored bodies are a result of the birds’ incessant need to coat their bodies in moss, foliage, and any other green matter, using a pointed beak to assist with this. They are common bird in Regalia but are also very difficult to spot, due to their impressive camouflage.
Jong-li Nightingale
Jong-li Nightingales are exotic songbirds from Dexai, where they sing a unique warbling tune that has long seen them connected to the afterlife, death, and mourning. Each Dynasty of Sihai has their own beliefs about the bird though, and they are better known to Regalians as a songbird who refuses to sing when they are inside of a cage. Instead, they must be free and open in a space in order to let out their song.
Common Imperial Pigeon
Throughout the many Major Cities which cover the land of Aloria, the most recurring animal is the Common Imperial Pigeon. It has made itself known due to the abundant amount of flocks which inhabit every nook and cranny of a populated city. The Common Imperial Pigeon has been around since the first days of the Regalian Empire. They have made their presence known as an invasive species and have little to no benefits to an ecosystem. Decades have passed since they’ve cultivated into the birds they are now, and have not grown short in numbers either.
Dragged Crow
The Dragged Crow is an easily distinguished bird despite its similarities to the common crow. Larger and more formidable than its cousin, these creatures are capable of forming hostile murders in the wild, they are known for their shrill shrieking cry. Making for excellent messengers in captivity, they currently serve as a valuable means of communication across the Ithanian Sovereignty and the Regalian Empire at large.
Black Feather
The Black Feather is an undersized songbird that originates from the Regalian Archipelago, and can now be found throughout Corontium. Known for their unique ability to replicate speech, these birds are difficult to spot but are easily heard throughout Regalia. In recent years, they’ve been domesticated and kept as household pets by Ailor children.
Red Breaster
The Red Breaster is known across the farming world for many things. Its greatest claim to fame is its close relation to the now extinct junglefowl that helped create it and its close cousin, the Common Farm Chicken. It is also noted for its shrill, powerful cry that marks the rising of the sun each day, said to be the most powerful of any bird. They are also known for their fiery-colored plumage, the Red Breaster is a staple of many farms in Anglia and beyond.
Duck
Ducks are waterfowl well known in Aloria, existing in domesticated and wild surroundings across the world. It is unknown where they originated from, but today they are a common creature seen in parks, on farms and in the forest rivers on many continents. These animals are well known for often possessing a pronounced dichotomy between male and female members of the species, but also for playing a common role in Sihai culinary dishes (though a number of other Cultures also likes to incorporate Duck in their dishes).
Hinterlandic Raven
The Hinterlandic Raven is a very peculiar bird that displays extremely odd habits. The raven is generally seen as a very mischievous, intelligent bird, that is acutely aware of its own surroundings and the people that live near its nest. Strangely enough, this bird is also poetically suicidal and even downright self destructive, for reasons unknown as of yet. This bird has become a reviewed curiosity for animal scholars, using it as a hallmark example of trying to understand illogical animal behavior.
Solacian Sunbird
Solacian Sunbirds are highly colorful and cheery birds native to the Solacian Isles, though they are most populous on Solacia itself and nearby Killarallis. The bird is also domesticated in large numbers, and a favorite bird of the merchant class mainly thanks to its ties to the Tolonne Ailor, but also because of their colorful appearance and relatively low cost as an “exotic” pet. The birds are also well known for being able to mimic the speech of other animals and the Races of Aloria, though only for short bursts, as the bird lacks complex thought functions.
Dicolored Face-clinger
The Dicolored Face-clinger is a brightly colored bird, often misunderstood by those beyond the shores of Talamoor where the bird can natively be found. Its name, which might inspire fear, is actually in reference to its nesting habitat, which are mountain and cliff faces across the continent of Talamoor. Left relatively undisturbed over the years since Ceardian Ailor arrived and came to dominate the region, the bird continues to thrive and brightens up the rocky faces of many land features across the underdeveloped continent.
Common Farm Chicken
From the lowest beggar to the highest nobleman, most residents of Aloria have laid their eyes on the Common Farm Chicken. One of the most ordinary animals you can find on nearly every continent, they have made their way as livestock on farms the world over. Originally hailing from Daendroc, the enslaved Ailors brought the wild ancestors of today’s chicken with them as they escaped their Elven captors. The Chicken is favored for providing plenty of food for those even with a small amount of coin. Even then, they still have a remarkable effect on different cuisines from all types of cultures.
Goose
The Goose is a medium-sized waterfowl native to many temperate and cold regions of Aloria. Their bodies and eggs can be used to create many useful products or tasty meals. It is widely believed today that the Sihai were the first to domesticate Geese in distant Dexai, with the rest of Aloria following centuries later after locating their own native species of Goose. They have long necks, and often are considered to have bad personalities, but none can deny their cleverness and tactics for attempted survival in the wild.

Nimbinoldor
The Nimbinoldor is a hawk universally renowned for its hunting abilities. Often the choice hawk for those looking for a friendlier and submissive breed, this bird was extracted from eastern Daen, being sold throughout Aloria as the ideal specimen for an inexperienced falconer just getting started. Due to these birds’ innate ability to cooperate, they have often been used by rangers in large quantities.
Imperial Hawk
The Imperial Hawk is an animal native to the Crown Isle in Regalia and has rarely left its homeland. The animal has always been a part of life in the imperial capital, living there since before the Cataclysm when the city was founded by the Regalian Kingdom. The hawk has colorations similar to that of the Common Imperial Pigeon, but this is a deception tactic used to put prey at ease before striking. As the capital grows and expands, this bird is likely to be there right alongside it, nesting and gliding across the skies of the City of Light.
Ceardian Long Talon
The Ceardian Long Talon is named somewhat ironically as it does not actually have long talons, but rather long feathers. The bird has followed Ceardians for centuries; first in the period of Ceardian Warlords, then to the Regalian Archipelago as trade ties were established between the two nations, and finally to Essalonia after Ceardia itself fell to Void forces. The Long Talon is now a common breed favored among falconers and is unlikely to dip in population unless the forests it calls home are drastically cut down.
Calemberger Adelaar
The Calemberg Adelaar is one of the animals known to symbolize the aristocracy in Aloria, particularly of the Ailor race. The bird has ties back to the old Wirtemcaller Kingdom and, having survived an attempt by the Skagger Horde to drive them into near extinction, are now recovering in number across the three Calem regions of the Regalian Archipelago; Calemberg, Opper Calem, and Hinter Calem. With its large size, crested head, and an attitude of superiority over other bird species, it serves as the perfect example of the Alt-Regalian culture which formed out of the fallen Wirtemcaller state.
Calemberger Black Hawk
The Calemberger Black Hawks are a carnivorous bird native to Inner CalembergWald, or more commonly known as Calemberg Forest. At first glance they can be described as elongated birds with a shiny black coat of bristle feathers, having a grey angular shaped patch of feathering on their lower panel. They are a common predator in Calemberg forests, being discreet hunters that often hunt during the daylight hours.
Crow Eagle
The Crow Eagle is one of the animals known widely for its symbolic value to the aristocracy in Aloria, particularly the Ailor race. The bird has ties back to the old Wirtemcaller Kingdom and after having survived an attempt by the Skagger Horde to drive them into extinction, are now recovering in number across the three Calem regions of the Regalian Archipelago; Calemberg, Opper Calem, and Hinter Calem. With its large size, crested head, and an attitude of superiority over other avian species, it serves as the perfect figurehead of the Alt-Regalian culture which formed out of the fallen Wirtemcaller state.
Owl
Owls are birds that have long been part of Aloria and the lives of Humans, whether in the Far East among the Sihai or the cold north among the Velheim Ailor. These elegant nocturnal creatures have often been attached to knowledge and intellect, but are also fierce hunters thanks to a variety of bodily adaptations that help them thrive at the top of many food chains. They are uncommon due to their short lifespan and high mortality rate as young birds, but still cast a regal figure when found perched in trees.

Common Gull
The Common Gull is an infamous seabird known as a crying terror of the coasts, though only in the most dumbed-down sense of such terms. While it serves occasional use to sailors and fishermen, these days it is known solely as a nuisance; an overpopulated one, at that. Considered the “rooster” of cities of port, these birds often wake sleeping residents early in the morning, and crowd coasts in high numbers. The overpopulation of this bird is a notable fact, to the point where there have been recent tales told by sailors of flocks thick enough to scatter sunlight and last a full five minutes before passing entirely.
Sea Pidaleer
Sea Pidaleers are ancient denizens of the skies in and around the oceans and seas of Aloria. Known to the Altalar as birds of knowledge and deep thought since the dawn of their existence, such superstitions have since blended with more than a dozen others found in the beliefs of several other Races and Cultures. To those more focused on facts, the birds are still remarkable, mating for life and gliding across the seas of Aloria, somehow knowing how to return home every two years to meet their mate. Their colonies look like snow-covered islands and headlands when these birds come home to roost, and many on the coast look to their presence as reassurance that the world is normal and will ultimately be okay.

Hoton Longfeather
Hoton Longfeathers are best known to Aloria as massive birds that fly ridiculously high above the clouds, and only come down when they wish to sleep on top of mountains. It seems that with time, the species has gradually grown more untethered from the earth. They used to be a jungle-dwelling species hunted to extinction by the Altalar and soon after, the rest of the species entered the life they are best known for today. They are also well-known animals because of the many superstitions that surround them; from a millennia long lifespan to how their feathers make the perfect arrows on account of their straightness and sharpness once broken off. The Longfeather is a rarity nowadays, millennia of existing in Aloria taking its toll, but many in Daen still look up in wonder at the distant speck of black that they can sometimes see between the clouds.
Givrais Thunder Bird
The Givrais Thunder Bird is a unique animal from northern Farah’deen known for its strange habit of gathering around areas where lighting is about to strike. A long-lasting feature of the region, the birds survived the Great Storm and have also managed to survive the latest bout of warfare in their region. They are still hunted, however, because Ithanians greatly enjoy the myriad of colors their feathers possess. These same feathers make it hard to see them as they fly in the blue sky however they are much more obvious when they nest in the canyons they make their homes in.
Ciel'lapanna Crane
Ciel'lapanna Cranes are elegant birds best known for consuming the neon-blue Skymoss that infests the many spires of Altalar civilization. Their appetite for the moss made them a useful creature for the Altalar for centuries, as even with Magic, effectively cleaning their tall, sleek, and angled surfaces was a dangerous task. Though their presence did drop in populous cities around drop as the Allorn Empire began its decline, its population and presence surged following the Wildering, and they are once again a major and welcomed site on top of many Altalar spires.

Mooan
Mooan are large, wingless birds found roaming the expansive grasslands of Daen. They eat a simple diet of insects and seeds, which is just about as simple as their brain. Known for their distinctive “Mooan” cry that gives them their name and their tactic of falling over as a distraction, the Cielothar have managed to tame a population of the animal in their settlements and overall the Mooan has survived countless harrowing events. It is unlikely that the animal will vanish from the Ularen Plains that they call home any time soon.
Ollivear
Ollivear resemble large, birdlike Ogres with arms and long feathers. They are hostile and dangerous predators that grow as tall as an Orc in height and far wider in girth. While native to Guldar, they have also made nests in Daendroc due to the Orcs transporting eggs during their great exodus.

Rokha
The Rokha is a winged titan, stalking the plains of Daendroc below it from the skies with keen vision, and painting the lands red with precise dives and strikes from the deadly claws mounted on its feet. The Rokha has for centuries inspired terror into the hearts of the people who lived near the mountains of Daendroc, inhabiting the northwestern regions of the Zuimobragan Peninsula. These enormous predatory birds have been a plague on the Altalar cities built into the mountainsides for millennia, and the Elves best efforts to eradicate the bird has severely decreased their numbers. To this day, its feathers and claws are prized trinkets among the Elven population, and the Daen humans as well.
Longtail Gryphon
Viewed as a strange beast by both the Asha and the Allorn Empire, this native Ithanian species is rarely, if ever, interacted with by any being outside of its own species. Later into the time of the Allorn Empire, the beast became symbolic of Ithania itself, subsequently causing their image became a standard architectural feature. In the years since the Cataclysm, the animal has retreated deeper into the Ithanian forests they reside in. The creature’s most notable feature is its inability to fit into neither avian nor mammalian, simply defined as a feline head connected to a bird-like body. Today, they are most commonly seen set in stone as a minor animal in the pantheon of architectural symbolism the highly cultured Ithanians make use of though some Ithanian nobles do seek the challenge of hunting down this beast.

Two-Claw Raptor
An agile nightmare to some, and a loyal companion to others, the Two-Claw Raptors have been used as battle-mounts and hunting dogs for almost as long as the Mu-Allar have existed. It would seem as if the two reptilian hunters share a bond not only through physical appearance, but by their like-mindedness. They live in large packs in the jungles of Sendras, and are prone to conflicts with opposing raptor packs.
Sendrassian Long Maw Saurian
The Sendrassian Long Maw Saurian is a relentless predator, dominating the continent of Sendras for centuries despite the Allar trying to force it away at one time. Infamous for being one of the largest and strongest predators on Aloria, this enormous creature has had a great impact on the Mu-Allar culture and lifestyle in the form of the tale of the first hunters who took a Long Maw down. They are also known for possessing several unique body features suspected to have gifted to them by their ancient Yellow Sky Dragon prey and the Void converts who won the Sendrassian Civil War. As a result, its body parts are highly sought after by Allar alchemists.
Crúa’ciadenö
A tenacious body and a vicious bite, the Crúa’ciadenö is a small airborne reptilian from Sendras that was brought to Daen, via the first Elven expeditions to the ancient continent, and later to Hadar during the Allar exodus to that continent. It is one of the few reptiles capable of flight, sporting wing-membranes that span from their end-fingers to their hips. They are thought to have been creatures of reverence during the earlier years of the Serass Empire, respected due to their dragon-like characteristics. Many Elven and Allar biologists bicker over the name, since the Elves made the most widely known name for the species, due to their earlier formalization of written language; however the Allar claim to have named it first.

Saltwater Snapper
Long, with a savage toothy maw and an equally powerful tail, the Saltwater Snapper is a crocodile of large proportions and infamous reputation, known to inhabit the waters of Hadaria, Sendrass, and the coastline of Teled Methen. Known to be quick to temper and constantly hungry, Saltwater Snappers are symbols of ambition and ferocity but also of the Cro-Allar who share many features with these wild beasts.
Sweet Water Snapper
The Sweet Water Snapper is a large species of reptile and a medium-sized crocodilian native to the wildlands of Essalonia. They have been known to the region’s colonists since the earliest days, but unlike the Kelp and Maerrow, similarly reptilian predators of the region, the Sweet Water Snapper has an intrinsic value that is easy to access. Its meat is fine and even tasty when consumed, while its pelt is useful, and according to Ithanians, “stylish.” They have remained relatively populous as a result, hunted out of the major waterways used for regional transportation, but allowed to dominate the shady, out of way swamps and rivers that crisscross Essalonia.
Longtail Croque
The Longtail Croque is an aquatic reptile indigenous to Ithania. It has been part of that region’s history since the Dewamenet Empire, where it harassed the Asha people and was possibly tied to their ancient religion. With the rise of the Altalar and later Ithanian Ailor, the creature was actively hunted out of the major waterways of the nation to help maintain the peaceful culture Ithanians are known for. The animal is notable for its long tail, its “pack” societies as well as regional colorations and gender populations.


Snakes

Medskala
Feared as a merciless killer, and told of in the oral tales and stories of Nordskagian people, the Medskala is a slithering predator from the Kingdom of Nordskag. Although similar in more ways than one to their serpentine cousins, these snakes are much bigger, more dangerous, and extremely cunning. The Medskala is reputed throughout Nordskag and generally given a wide berth by Nordskagians out of fear of being consumed.
Common Grass Snake
The Grass Snake, as implied in the name, is a hilariously common and widespread animal. The combination of its near refusal to die, as well as the heavy emphasis its body has on reproduction, has made the animal something of a marvel. Known for its annoying habit of nesting in gardens and bushels, the Grass Snake has a reputation for scaring adults and children alike due to its unsuspecting nature. The population of the Common Grass Snake has no rate of declining; in fact, biological experts state the opposite, that the population is increasing at an alarming rate.
Cobravv
The Cobravv is one of the more iconic animals of the Farah’deen deserts. Tales warn of these venomous snakes all throughout the folklore of the Qadir and Songaskia people alike. This nocturnal animal hunts lizards and other prey at night, but if you step on its burrow you are sure to fall to its deadly bite. Despite their legendary dangerous traits and territorial ways in the wild, the animal has been tamed and used in street performances and can even be domesticated as pets. Those that use this animal in performances call themselves ‘snake-charmers’ and use a flute to command the Cobravv on what to do.
Rainbow Snake
The Rainbow Snake exclusively inhabits the dense jungle continent of Sendras, where the Allar used it for decades in the creation of alchemy products before these practices ended following their civil war. The animal is rare, with a high youth mortality rate, but once it has matured and starts producing its bad-tasting slippery black reflective oil, it is guaranteed to survive for a long time. The animal is also known for rarely hunting prey, instead going after the dead of Sendras first. Their spread is so vast, across the entire landmass, that it is unlikely they will slip into the darkness of extinction any time soon.
Stone Forest Snake
The Stone Forest Snake is often feared by the wider public and the inexperienced scholar as a fierce beast made of stone that haunts Llíü’raëth, the stone forest of Hyarroc, and serves as the vanguard to the even fiercer serpent, the Basilisk. In actuality, it is an underwhelming creature when singled out due to its tendency to hunt small prey rather than the uncommon larger creatures who mistakenly wander into the stone forest of Llíü’raëth. However, they are in the Basilisk's thrall and can aid in restraining or driving such larger animals somewhere desired by the much larger snake. They also possess a camouflage ability, though only against rocky surfaces, that make them difficult to spot and feed the myth they are made out of stone.
Lumizass
The Lumizass is a small, wholesome, somewhat dramatic but definitely naive pygmy snake that is very popular among children, especially in Ithania and for the Altalar. This fast living and peach loving snake has completely gone extinct in the wild, but remains a thriving pet in captivity that doesn't seem to mind its captivity at all, instead even developing to thrive while being taken care of by civilized people.


Lizards

Ghor Ka Bloodscale
The Ghor Ka Bloodscale are a strange race of animalistic lizardmen that fall behind the line of an intelligent race. Most likely a failure of Al-Allar alchemical manipulation of their own race long ago, these creatures now live in the wilds in tribes made up of their family. They’re known not only for their creation of simple tools but also for their ability to be turned into simple servants in the halls of Digmaan and other wealthy Allar. Fiercely territorial, anyone who crosses into their land will be quickly be met with an assault of stones and teeth.
Green Lizard
The Green Lizard is possibly the most common quadruped animal in Aloria, existing across multiple continents. It is a small green reptile but also known for the streaks of blue and red that mark males and females apart. It is a rare example of a domesticated lizard, kept as pets by some Allar and Ailor. It has been present throughout many world events, yet remains alive and unaffected today.
Ridgeback Stalker
Elusive and ferocious, these camouflaged killers strike their unsuspecting prey from above. Not much is known about these mysterious predators, resulting in their status as the source of many wandering tales and ghost stories. Because of this, these large lizards have gained an infamous reputation, leading to them being hunted over the years. The lizard’s elusive nature and rock-like scales, however, have allowed them to hide away in the rocky cliffs and caverns that defines most of the southern New Ceardian coast line.
Hagaan
Anyone who wishes to cross the deserts of Farah’deen will no doubt encounter this deadly reptile along the way - If they can spot it. This lizard is infamous for its venomous bite and perfect camouflage, capable of killing a victim in minutes while staying hidden amongst the sand. Outsiders easily underestimate the Hagaan, but most locals know to be extremely wary of this territorial animal, especially if they are traveling at night.
Shssisse
Shssisses are strange, highly slippery reptiles with an unknown background and very unique abilities. They have the ability to camouflage in Void-rich environments and can mimic speech, though some reports claim certain members have real intelligence and can talk properly. They are found both in the wilds of Drowda, where the Sihndar consider them an emblem of the Void, but also in the urban centers of the Dread Empire in the Far West. Here, the Kathar appear to have the animal domesticated as symbols of status and power, though the tales they tell of the creatures are quite outlandish.


Mammal-like Reptiles

Kyanprat
The unfortunate souls that stray too close to a swamp's edge often find themselves the meal of a Kyanprat. There are few beings, animal or otherwise, that pose any danger to this horrifying creature. Ranging between sixteen and eighteen feet tall with an odd mixture of reptilian and mammalian features, these swamp-dwelling beasts are a lethal sight to behold.
Pastalid
Though its prickly appearance may suggest otherwise, the colorful Pastalid is a popular pet among Aloria’s artists and performers. Despite their unusual and inhospitable habitat, the Pastalid has captured the attention of the Alorian public far from its Ithanian home. With its rainbow-hued, scaled appearance, the Pastalid continues to bedazzled and surprise desert travellers in Ithania while guiding them when needed.

Mossassarios
The Mossassarios is a primeval terror primarily found beneath the Western Calms, stalking the waters in search of prey. This marine reptile bears some similarity to lizards, with four limbs and a tail. For as anyone can remember, the Mossassarios have been a danger to the ships around the western landmasses since the early Elves and Allar first took to the waters. To hunt such a beast is a dangerous undertaking, but those who manage to bring one down can be greatly rewarded. Mossassarios have not made much of an impact beyond the west, but are a risk any sailors in those waters may face. Currently, they’re most infamous for the sinking of merchant vessels in the area.
Tylossare Snapper
The Tylossare Snapper is a species of turtle native to Essalonia, where it existed undisturbed for centuries. Named for its perceived harsh bite, the animal has been hunted and eaten by colonists as a result. Though its population has survived the once intense focus from the newest arrivals to Essalonia, their numbers in the wild have dwindled near settled areas.
Great Bog Snapper
The existence of the Great Bog Snapper is unquestionably not a great one, being so lackluster that it spawned the common saying “Only swamp rocks and water today”, which remains to be used to Anglian hunters to describe a lackluster tripBaring a size far more massive in comparison to an everyday snapping turtle, the snappers are exclusive to only the swamps and bogs of Anglia and its surrounding regions. They are relatively easy to find due to their sheer size and lack of migration. Because they are dormant for the majority of the day, and only to snap out at any small prey to come near, it is no wonder these turtles are described as large stones.
Ridgeback Turtle
Ridgeback Turtles are diverse species of land-dwelling turtles from Daen and tropical areas of Corontium who have lived long lives and suffered much at the hands of multiple Races. In the modern-day the smallest subspecies tend to be kept as pets while the largest subspecies are rare today due to their large size producing copious materials for sailors and exotic goods dealers. Still, the animal is renowned across Aloria for its long lifespans and passive, gentle attitude.
Sea Swoof
Swift and majestic, a wild Sea Swoof is truly a sight to behold. A strange mix of a snake and a skate with iguana-like scaly skin, this creature has mystified casual beach-goers and swimmers for generations. Usually found in the oceans of Aloria, this strange-looking aquatic snake has been regarded as bad luck by sailors for as long as they’ve been discovered.
Gargant Hadar Trunkrond
The Gargant Hadar Trunkrond has a well-deserved reputation as the largest turtle in Aloria. Having survived since the rise of the Slizzar and past their fall, the Trunkrond is now rare due to the damage wrought by the Chrysant War. They are now slowly making a return once more as their large size deters people and animals from hunting them. They are also known for returning to certain beaches to lay their eggs, carrying on a legacy somehow known to them despite rarely ever visiting these spots previously. Unless Hadaria suffers another disaster, these giant reptiles will still be around and swimming through the seas for centuries to come.
Kelp
Cunning and deceitful, the Kelp of Aloria were only recently discovered by the colonial regions of the Regalian Empire in Essalonia. Prone to taking on magical guises, they are notorious for luring their victims to secluded places and killing them via drowning. They predominantly dwell in underwater caves, away from the outside world and were once confused for Maiar until this fact was cleared up by the Maiar race itself. Kelp are rare and fascinating, but a person should take the utmost care when in contact with these creatures.
Maerrow
The Maerrow are small, Maiar-like fishpeople that hail from Essalonia. These carnivorous beings are known to steal the bounty of fishermen on the ocean and in rivers for themselves while also hunting down singular or small groups of targets. They are also known for their hideous, tooth filled grins which they maintain throughout their lives. Figures of malice in Colonial culture, it is likely that they will go extinct in the coming years if they maintain their low population density, spread across the waterways of Essalonia.

Basilisk
Very few creatures are as vilified and dangerous as the great Basilisk. This colossal serpent, known as the Great King of Snakes, patrols the stone forests of Llíü’raëth searching for rare metals, treasure, or prey to feast upon. Though its origins are unknown, many attribute the Basilisk to be a final descendent of the Green Dragons that occupied Hyarroc thousands of years ago. The Basilisk lives in a massive sinkhole called The Maw, thought to be a burial site of the snake’s ancestors. Today, the ancient serpent wanders the stone forest, exerts control over the Stone Forest Snakes, and is considered to be one of the most deadly monsters in Aloria.
Deep Sea Serpent
The Deep Sea Serpent is one of the largest creatures in all Aloria, certainly in the Alorian Oceans. For centuries they were worshipped as divine beings and living gods by the Slizzar, but their numbers diminished after the Cataclysm. With the fall of the Essa Empire, Deep Sea Serpents were declared extinct after the Regalian military’s victory at Fesso Hualla. Unknown to many, the Deep Sea Serpent still lives on in the depths of the ocean, but they have become very scarce following the Bone Horror Crisis that filled their waters with undead monstrosities.
Shallow Sea Serpent
The Shallow Sea Serpent was once a powerful cousin to the Deep Sea Serpent; an apex predator that infested the freshwaters of Daen and beyond. Unfortunately, the rise and ultimate decline of the Allorn Empire ended their superiority, rendering the animal extinct. It was mostly known for its mythical ability to breathe fire - in reality, this was a unique hunting system that involved rapidly boiling the water and air around its neck. Their skin developed to resist such heat. While the creature is formally considered to be extinct, rumors persist of surviving specimens though most have been confirmed to be nothing more than seals, trees rotting in the water, and overactive imaginations.

Silver Poison Toad
Gazing into the jungles of Fendarfelle, one can easily sense glistening metal far in the swamps. Most travellers know better than to investigate, for those gleaming pieces of silver are likely to be Silver Poison Toads, sitting in their marshes, unafraid of anything that might hunt them, for they will enact their bowel-ripping vengeance from beyond death. From the time the explorers of Fendarfelle first set foot on the continent, this seemingly harmless creature has always been a mystery. Even today, the toads fill the swamps and wetlands of Fendarfelle by the dozen, colorful, but unthreatened due to their toxic nature.
Highland Creaker
Most commonly known for startling hunters during the beginning of spring, the Highland Creaker is a common frog that is infamous for its unique mating call. The particularly lumpy creature is large compared to many of its relatives, measuring at roughly 12 inches in length on average. However, even it’s size does not give it away while it hibernates under the snow, having been discovered only by a chance encounter when one frog was unfortunately stepped on. To this day, it remains infamous among Gallovians and has been used as a cautionary tale to always watch one’s feet.
Common Plains Toad
Known for their rather camouflaged features, Common Plains Toads likely came from Ithania but then infested the fields of Anglia and beyond, though the locals limited the numbers of these creatures so they no longer threaten the local ecosystem. They are considered to be the most lethargic out of all the Alorian amphibians. They are often found gathered in bunchings in rainy weather and storms, known for hiding beneath trees to blend in during the harsher weather.

Salas’maïdar
The Salas’maïdar is by far one of the most common creatures known in Aloria. It’s unique life cycle and long lifespan have caused it to be the subject of research and curiosity since it was discovered. This species has remained hidden from the gaze of biologists for some time despite its large size due to its coloration, and unique burrowing habits. Its life cycle is nearly constantly researched by young, aspiring biologists.
Effhlekh Salamander
The Effhlekh Salamander is a mysterious jewel of Farah’deen, an amphibian that makes it’s home in desert-covered lands with little water, and an animal that is of particular fascination to Qadir-Almae engineers. This salamander makes its home in the oases and on the coasts of Farah’deen, though the scarcity of water and its inhospitable habitat have begun to wear down its population. Documented even before the Great Storm, this amphibian has been a part of Farah’deen’s history for centuries. One of the most interesting parts about this salamander is it’s color-shifting skin in the presence of high concentrations of Binral Essence, a trait that has surrounded species in superstition. Despite the population decline in the wild, the Effhlekh Salamander remains a mysterious link to the past and is often now found in captivity as an exotic pet.
Phlarkie
While the cities of Etosil often come alive at night with the flickering of hundreds of candles, the hills and pastures of the countryside are often speckled with the glowing embers of the Phlarkie. A small amphibian with a natural affinity for fire, Phlarkies have a natural combustible compound that is created in a special organ located in their back. They were originally discovered when the first settlers arrived in Etosil, who were drawn to the mysterious lights that dotted the rocky terrain, only to find a bizarre six legged creature that was warm to the touch. Phlarkies are found across Etosil, found even in farmer’s homes as they lie among the embers of the hearth. They do not bother local citizens much more than simply being in the way and they do a wonderful job keeping the bugs away. Etosians have come to appreciate their little companions, and because of that, the Phlarkie is often considered one of the symbols of Etosil.

Flats Glider
Large, swift and cunning, the Flats Glider is both a prized and dreaded catch for any fisherman. Often found in freshwater rivers in New Ceardia, the Flats Glider is a large freshwater stingray, notorious for its difficulty to catch. It is named for its ability to glide through the water. These large, typically docile beasts are prized for the unique flavor of their meat, and the amount of said meat on them makes them all the more valuable of a catch. Nowadays, their numbers dwindle, but they breed rapidly enough to endure the constant fight to get them out of the water and onto a plate.
Red Fairfin Fish
The Red Fairfin is an iconic fish commonly found in meals from the cities across Daen. The Elven Empire once served the fish to its leaders, but now it is commonly found throughout the towns that dot the continent. The Fairfin’s flashy fins and obvious brood give it no chance to stand against its Ailor hunters. Its large numbers and steady population have caused it to surge in popularity, and nobles want it as a live pet but have failed to domesticate it as the animal requires moving water to live. Predators on its native continent often feast on it due to the fish not having any defense mechanisms, save for remaining in large groups at all times.
Meetok Fish
The Meetok Fish is a freshwater fish from Sendrass, and is one of the most populous animals on the jungled landmasses. With origins dating back centuries, the animal has remained unchanged over the years, as it has near-perfectly adapted to the swamps and vegetation-filled rivers of the region. It is most known for its brilliant emerald, ruby and sapphire colorations as well as having an incredibly brief life cycle. Today, people and animals across Sendrass enjoy this fish as a food source, greatly enjoying the simple but tasty creature while the wealthy must pay out of the nose for the same experience.
Ksai Fish
The Ksai Fish is a species of Fish native to Dexai in the Far East, where it has been used by the Sihai Race for centuries as both a source of food and decoration. Over their time in captivity, their coloration has been altered into a range of vivid, pleasing hues, and those who have escaped into wild populations have carried these spots of color with them. With the desire for goods from the Sihai homeland increasing, and more Sihai leaving said homeland to explore the outside world, Ksai Fish are shipped abroad and traded with increased frequency, making them a common sight to those surrounded either by Sihai or Sihai things.

Barnacle Trout
Barnacle Trout are common saltwater fish that have lived in Aloria for millenia. They are notable for their diet of crustaceans, principally barnacles, which they eat using their flat teeth. They are also notable for the purple stripe that runs the length of their ocean blue body. They migrate across the world, following ships and feeding on barnacles to stay alive. Though this habit can lead to problems despite seeming like a good thing for ships on the surface.
Eelboor Man of War
Mystery and intrigue surround the Eelboor Man of War as it glides in the wake of ships in the night and into the history texts of studious scholars intent on understanding this peculiar jellyfish. The Eelboor Man of War attracts the eyes of curious onlookers, educated or not, due to its immense size and odd appearance when compared to other oceanic creatures. While the exact date of its discovery is unknown, the Eelboor Man of War has reached its venomous tentacles through history upon its discovery off the coast of Farah’deen in the Great Middle Sea. Despite its large size, the Eelboor Man of War is quite fragile and prefers the Great Middle Sea due to its general lack of storms. Upon its initial discovery, fishermen were quick to spread tales of this gigantic creature haunting the depths of the ocean waiting for the inattentive sailor to slip from his perch.
Pahltu Reef Cracker
A fearsome predator of the sea, the Pahltu Reef Cracker is one of the largest fish to currently exist in Aloria. With tough armor and a seemingly obstinate need to destroy, these fish are found scouring the reefs around Hadaria, endlessly seeking out their next meal. Part of their name came from the term given to them by the Maiar, however, the rest was decided based on their behavior. While people have attempted to use them as food, this has been concluded to be not worth the time; they aren’t very tasty and have a layer of armor to get through before they can be considered edible. Their numbers have been dropping considerably due to the amount of prey in the waters decreasing, both from their predation and due to commercial fishing, causing a lack of sustenance to maintain their large bodies and stay alive.
Crescent Sickle Shark
The Crescent Sickle Shark is a medium-sized species of shark native to the coastlines of the sandy, arid lands of southern Essalonia and Farah’deen. There they built up symbolism among the Qadir but the current Songaskians who dominate the region hunt them far more than the Qadir ever did. Still, the animal remains populous and spreads across the waters of two continents. It is well known for its unique fin shape as well as for its method of feeding by surging straight up, which often causes them to breach the surface of the waves.
Sawbone Shark
Sawbone Sharks are small sharks spread across Aloria in dark regions inaccessible to many. Here the strange creatures with their saw-like snouts swim in small schools and live a life largely in avoidance of surface turmoil and chaos. Their unique facial feature has caught the attention of many, and the fish is now viewed as more of a curiosity than an actual resource. As a result, when they turn up, they are prized by the right type of nautically-inclined people but remain largely ignored in the dark depths.
Great Reef Masscar
Great Reef Masscars are some of the largest sharks in Aloria and populate the tropical reefs found in several oceans. They have a very unfortunate reputation, saddled with mostly Ailor-generated imaginings of a bestial creature lacking complexity or thought, though these are false. Instead, the creature is social, avoiding conflict with Ailor and other Races, and mostly feeds on the formal foods pursued by sharks.
Blubvoldta
The Blubvoldta is a cold-water bottom-dwelling fish with a hideous appearance. While their bloated body gives the appearance of a lazy creature, its quick reflexes, and dangerously sticky tongue make it a fearsome animal. Rarely seen outside of their deep water habitat, they are valuable to alchemists and craftsmen because of their internal body slime. While the substance on its own is disgusting, diluting it with Vocadine or other alcohol-based alchemy mixtures often produce an excellent flame resistant lacquer.
Kalmian Spineback
The Kalmian Spineback is a fish unique to the Inner Kalm Sea in The North Belt. An anadromous fish, they swim up the various streams and rivers that feed the Sea to breed. As a result, all of the nearby Velheim nations are supplied with food every autumn in a predictable fashion. In ancient times it was said to be easier as the fish never “fought back” like they do today; their sharp spines are known to hurt animals hunting them as well as fishermen, causing damage to their tools as well. Regardless of this, the Kalmian Spineback remains a constant source of food for the local people around the Sea.
Findt
The Findt is a species of silver-grey fish that heavily populate several of Aloria’s most well-traveled oceans. Key to the lifestyle of both Velheim fishermen and the Ériunin people who believe the fish to be a gift from The Uilemáthair (the upper deity of the local religion and one associated with nature), the fish exists in a nearly ceaseless series of migration patterns across the many Alorian bodies of water. The fish are also well known for their extreme differences in size, seemingly at random for no particular reason.
Linella
Linellas are unique fish that excrete long, shiny, and elastic threads known as Elastan Thread when they try to flee from a predator to cause said predator to become entangled. The Ovirran Varran hunt these Linella primarily to help them in the creation of Elastan, a popular fabric usually black or dark blue which can shine if decorated with Silver thread. Its most prized property is that it is skin-fitting, usually woven smaller than the body and then stretching around the form of the person wearing it. This makes it lightweight and frictionless, while still warm to the skin or fur. Ovirran usually dress in Elastan because of cultural tradition and because this fabric does not need to be removed when swimming and thus, the Linella is essential to their lifestyle and world fashion trends in several Cultures. In addition, the Ovirran usually eat the fish after the threads have been expelled from them.

Walking Sea City Coral
An oddity in the Oceans of Aloria, the Walking Sea City Coral appears true to its namesake. A staggeringly large coral entity, this oddity wanders the warmer oceans of the world. The Walking Sea City Coral is a conglomerate of smaller corals belonging to the same species, clumping together to form one larger animal. The smaller Walking Sea Cities are typically one hundred-fifty to three hundred feet across, although they have been known to get as large as several hundred square feet. The Walking Sea City Coral has found itself home to schools of Maiar in the past and undoubtedly will continue to do so. This coral, in particular, holds relative importance for Aloria on an ecological scale. An essentially a nomadic marine ecosystem, it acts as a carbon and nitrogen fixer in the ocean.
Sponge Frill Coral
A species of brightly colored coral, Sponge Frill Coral has existed for untold centuries and has largely gone undisturbed in all of that time. Built by thousands of organisms known as polyps working together, Sponge Frill Coral is a common sight in the tropical waters of many locations across Aloria. Those in Hadaria are now in a process of recovery in the wake of the destruction wrought by the Chrysant War.
Tentacle Coral
The Tentacle Coral is the only believed species of coral known to have no exoskeleton. It will congregate in fields of the invertebrate, wafting in the water along with the current, seemingly harmless. For a long while, it was considered a popular snack for the Maiar in the middle deep of the oceans around Hadaria, until they had to vacate. However, consuming the wrong parts of this creature can cause near-fatal injuries. The poisonous creature now remains largely untouched by those with the knowledge to keep them safe, but unaware organisms are still falling for its unimposing appearance to this day.
Crusty Rock Coral
A species of rock-like coral, Crusty Rock Coral is often a bedrock for other corals to grow off of. Often dull in color and long believed to be a species of rock rather than a coral in its own right, the species is even less disturbed than the other corals closer to the water’s surface. They are also known for being brittle and porous, even underwater, and capable of cutting those lacing protection.
Staryon Starfish
A common sight among the aquatic wildlife in Essalonia, the Staryon Starfish is truly one of a kind. This little invertebrate comes in a variety of colors which all depend on the temperature of their habitat and the composition of their diet. Although they have a relatively short and uninteresting history in the eyes of most scholars, the Staryon has a special place on the coasts of Essalonian states and the waters surrounding it. The Staryon can also be used to produce vibrant dyes but many of these are only available to merchants of the Songaskian Masaya and insular states, making them rare in other areas of Aloria. Many scholars in the field of aquaculture continue to study the Staryon and its remarkable ability to convert different materials into a natural dye.


Crustaceans

Nordskag Kreb
Many fishermen and people who posses a general love for the sea will know the Nordskag Kreb. One of larger of the crab species, many inhabitants of the North adore catching and eating this crustacean. Populating the majority of the waters in Nordskag, the Nordskag Kreb has been a delicious meal for the Velheimers that caught them since they began catching them centuries ago. With a somewhat spiky and hard shell, all predators of the crab tend to be way bigger than it, as is custom with crustacean species. The Nordskag Kreb is rather abundant, and has a sweet flavor when their meat is properly cooked, the Kreb’s primary use is as a generic food product across Aloria, though focused in areas dominated by the Velheim.
Whale Crab
While regular Alorians may be more accustomed to folklore of beasts and creatures on land or soaring through the skies, menacing creatures such as the Whale Crab are revered by pirates and privateers alike. These crabs are like no other crustacean, having an enormous size that dwarfs Alorians. In the years following the Cataclysm, sea-travellers have repeatedly reported sightings of these colossal crustaceans, despite disbelief from some of their land-dwelling acquaintances. Most, if not all, seafarers have a certain fear of these beasts in their heart, unsure when the crabs will strike. Like many other mythical leviathans, Whale Crabs are seen in folklore across coastal cultures and any individual who claims to live on the open sea.


Arthropods

Insects
Bee
Bees are a constant species of insect native to the world of Aloria. Known since its earlier days, their key role in pollination was quickly discovered and in the modern-day, they are kept in order to produce honey for the Ailor, Cielothar, and other peoples and nations. They vary in size, with several subspecies, and can be confused with Wasps. But for many, Bees are far kinder and pleasing to look at.
Hadar Wasp
Hadar Wasps are large diptera insects found in Hadar as well as the coastline of Sendras. These giant creatures served as a formidable menace to the various Hadarian kingdoms in their earlier years, and because a minor obstacle to Regalian troops and sailors during the Chrysant Wars. Today they remain unaffected by the frequent wars of the continent, and are now one of the most prevalent forms of life on the islands.
Saruhanna Sand Ant
The Saruhanna Sand Ant is a massive insectoid predator, preying on anything unfortunate enough to blunder into its territory. Sporting a silver carapace, these arthropods are perfectly suited to prey on the less fortunate denizens of Saruhanna. However, they once ranged far and wide until the Great Storm wiped many of them from the great desert continent of Farah’deen. Their large size is also thought to be tied to the past, with the consensus standing that the feature is a result of a previous Void Invasion though many uneducated people believe it was a result of the Cataclysm. Regardless, they are a serious threat to any explorer seeking to venture into Saruhanna’s dry regions, especially ones who are foolish enough to stray into the ants’ cavernous colony networks.
Fendar Rotbite
The Fendar Rotbite, while not particularly dangerous, is certainly an unpleasant creature. This vile arthropod thrives on rotting bodies, the cause of its loathing. Rotbites were first discovered on Fendarfelle in 263 AC by an Ithanian logging company, whose workers called it “La Pourriture”. They make homes for themselves in graveyards and the dense jungles of the region. In modern times, the bugs are fairly uncommon due to their reclusive behavior, but still a nuisance that most graveyard workers must deal with.
Grand Papillon
The Grand Papillon is a vibrant butterfly that can possess colorations of yellow, green, red and brown in a black framed body. It has survived many disasters, from the devastating war between the Dewamenet Empire and Allorn Empire, to the Cataclysm, to the recent military conflicts of the last two decades, such as the Ranger Crisis. It is also known for its large size and currently stands as a symbol of nature to the Faith of Estel while others view it as an excellent pollinator.
Southern Longwing
The Southern Longwing is well known in Daendroque culture as a symbol of movement but also disease. Supposedly carrying a plague that affected Elven society, this preconception remaining after the Cataclysm while the animal as a symbol of movement came both from its own frantic flitting over the waters and that it took a massive jump to southern lordships in the Regalian Archipelago. It is well known as the largest species of dragonfly, with enormous wings longer than their own bodies.
Regalian Lilaspitze
The Regalian Lilaspitze is a purple butterfly well-known to the Regalian Archipelago in which it resides. While it was once heavily connected to the Emperor and royal power, it has since declined into a general symbol of Empire commonly employed by those not educated in its eating habits. The Lilaspitze moves from north to south with the changing seasons to avoid the cold, blessing many with the sight of a group of these winged insects fluttering through the air on their way to warmer areas or their old home.
Feathered Meadowfly
The Feathered Meadowfly is a species of moth commonly associated with the moon in Ithanian Culture, although references to it date back to the ancient Asha. Seeing one of these creatures in the daytime is a rather rare sight indeed, but traveling through Ithania in particular at night, the opposite is true. It is noted for its gender-swapped color pallet as unlike many other animals, the males are usually gray, with the females sporting the vibrant colors. The Feathered Meadowfly continues to influence Ithanian art today, appearing in paintings and poems in particular.
Fly
Flies are among the most common creatures in all of Aloria and are an annoyance to members of all Races and Cultures from any walk of life. Though they are often trivialized, they are vital scavengers that aid in decomposition of dead animals to provide sustenance for trees, flowers, and scavengers. Some Flies are more of a nuisance than others, and some are even outright dangerous. Almost all of them are thought of as disease carriers and signs of dirt and decay.
Haelstram Jungle Scuttler
For as long as anyone can remember, the Haelstram Jungle Scuttler has crawled in the leaflitter of L’Elvellen’s jungles. This large, venomous insect is known to locals as a hazard, and though they do not threaten the lives of grown Ailor, they can seriously wound most races and outright kill young children that tread on them by mistake. Infamous for its potent bite and disturbing visage, the Haelstram Jungle Scuttler is among the most reviled arthropods in Daendroc.
Llinàme
Despite their unassuming appearance, Llinàme are vital for the work of natural scientists and taxidermists across Aloria, commonly used to clean skeletons of flesh to prepare them for display or examination. These small, black grubs were originally discovered in the forested regions of pre-Cataclysm Ithania and first domesticated by the Ithanian Ailor around 100 AC. While these worms are not very common in their natural habitat, most natural history museums now have at least one large colony of the grubs which they use to clean skeletons. Recently, concerns have been raised that Llinàme may become a pest species due to their voracious appetite and broad diet, though infestations are currently very rare.
Axford Pondflitter
For as long as Humans have lived in Anglia, the Axford Pondflitter has lived alongside them in the marshy and wet areas of Anglian lowland. Often mistaken for dragonflies, Axford Pondflitters are known for their iridescent bodies and their tendency to dart through the air low to the water’s surface in search of emerging prey insects.
Bugutza
The Bugutza is a creature very few Regalians would like to consider exists on Aloria, namely because of how disgusting it is. A large grub creature the size of a man’s arm, the insect has been a source of food for the Naylar inhabitants of Hadaria for years, making it an integral part of their cuisine. Surprisingly, despite the Chrysant War, this bug is still prosperous and is also known to be easy to find after a rainfall.
Farah’deen Dune Worm
Ever-violent and vicious titans, the Farah’deen Dune Worm lurks deep beneath the sands of Farah’deen, exploding out of the ground without warning to swallow up prey. The Dune Worm is a creature of unbelievable size and appetite that will consume almost anything in its path, including other Dune Worms. These rare monsters are some of the most feared things in all of Farah’deen, able destroy any caravan traveling on the sands within an instant.
Eartheater Skall
The Eartheater Skall is a worm native to Ellador, with white, matted fur, and tissue dense enough to endure the ragged drag of the underearth it crawls in. The now-absent Dakkar treated Skalls like mundane pests, while the Dwarves struggled against the creatures since their discovery. The Dwarves of Ellador took arms against the Skall, but stumbled upon the realization axes and swords were of little effect to the Skall’s resilient hide. Scholars accredit the Skalls as a major power player in the downfall to the Dwarven Empire of Ellador, with many leather workers accrediting the Skall for their hides.
Hadarian Beetle
Hadarian Beetles are over-sized insects treated as a common delicacy to the Allar and Slizzar. The insect emerged from the depths of Hadar during the last Void Invasion, sprouting from the earth and remaining topside as the archipelago formed around them. During the foundation of the Essa Empire, the beetle became renown as a Naylar delicacy and was widely consumed. With the fall of the Essa Empire the Hadarian Beetle's population in the wild has doubled since what it once was. The animal is most common in the eastern regions of the island chain today, with the more recent use as a carnival oddity. When prompted with food, the insect can perform simple tasks such as pushing and pulling small items and this is often done for the amusement of others.
Wasp
Wasps are a constant species of insect native to the world of Aloria. Known since its earliest days as a pest and an irritant for those of all classes, this view has remained into the modern-day. They vary in size, with several subspecies, and can be confused with Bees. But for many, Wasps are far nastier and unpleasant to look at.
Ant
Ants are a broad-ranging species of ground-dwelling insects that have existed across Aloria for millennia. The species is made up of workers, diligent servants of the colony and the vast majority of its population, and those members who exist solely for propagation, the queens and the males. Most see Ants as nothing more than an aspect of nature, but their draw to food of all sorts means that they can ruin picnics, outdoor eating, and if they inhabit a home, even indoor meals.
Hortaal Moth
The Hortaal Moth is a unique, winged insect native to the Moon-Moth Forests found in the southern Hortutor Wildlands. In these sheltered (but vast) groves beneath the arching branches of strange, blue-sapped trees, the Moth flutters in the evening. Likely thanks to the sap of these trees, the Moths glow with the same fine blue tint that the tree leaves have, washing everything beneath and around them in this light at night. The Hortaal Moth adds to the overall dream-like quality of the Forests, and are enjoyed by many in the cities and towns that have formed under the forest canopies.
Torat-Nekh
The Torat-Nekh is a species of particularly vicious, carnivorous insect that many would rather read about than meet face to face. A beetle of varying sizes and ferocity, the Torat-Nekh are a breed of insect that devour any flesh they can get their pincers on, and live in the deep deserts of the Ashal Isles - far, far away from any established cities. An ancient legend claims that many Kings and Queens of the Asha kept these scarabs in jars, meant to warn against extreme criminal behavior. Dead Torat-Nekh were often used to decorate the walls of holy sites or crushed and ground into a fine powder to be used in paints or dyes. Whether or not the legends hold true has been lost to the sands of time and now, the Torat-Nekh are a vague threat in the back of travelers’ minds as they navigate the deep deserts of the Ashal Isles.

Giant Drow Spider
While the Giant Spider of Fendarfelle may inspire terror in the average adventurer, the Giant Drow Spider is a terror of an entirely different sort. The result of direct intervention from the Archdemon, the Giant Drow Spider is a twisted variant of its Fendarfelle cousin. While not as common as some of the other corrupted fauna of Drowda, this is rarely viewed as a problem - a Giant Drow Spider is certainly not something you would want to go searching for.
Triton Scorpide
Triton Scorpides are large scorpions native to the desert of Ithania, which have likely lived there since the time of the ancient Dewamenet Empire. However, they remained unconfirmed as late as 85 AC due to the disbelief in Asha competency, as well as the legitimacy of half-crazed and water-parched traders who barely escaped from the creatures. They are well known today, primarily for the trident formation near the end of their tail and for their yellow coloration. They are also known for their complex mating ritual and accompanying sexual cannibalism should a male not leave their mate fast enough.
Ekhton Rafiqua
Ekhton Rafiquas are small arachnids originally from the deserts of Farah’deen and were first discovered by the Qadir centuries ago. The animals are considered by some to be the inspiration for Soul Spiders invented by the Qadir but have older, mythical origins in the former Qadir religious beliefs. They are odd arachnids as they cannot spin webs, lack venom, but are targeted nonetheless as pests by many Songaskians.
Giant Spider
The Giant Spider is considered one of the most terrifying creatures on the continent of Fendarfelle. This fact has baffled scholars, since this is true merely because of the fact that is a Giant Spider, and not really considerate of the fact that it is dangerous. Although creatures like Kyanprat and other, much larger, fauna are the source of many horror stories and tribulations, the Giant Spider is often the go-to for many novellas and tall tales. Even in comparison to the rest of Fendarfelle’s native fauna, the Giant Spider is a classically terrifying beast for most any Alorian.
Seqherat
It is rumored that the Asha of the Dewamenet Empire rode the backs of scorpions the size of mountains, terrible beasts that could breathe fire, pierce city walls with their stingers, and tear even the strongest of lines of soldiers asunder with their claws. The Seqherat of today are not that, though the scuttling sand striders are still renowned and often feared by those who would be enemies to the Asha. Found only in the Asha Isles and around Asha States, these giant scorpions are tamed by the Asha and the Asha alone, mostly used as war mounts, and sometimes as beasts of burden or pets.

Grashobaig
The Grashobaig are a species of huge and deadly snails. They are slow and docile creatures with a powerful defence mechanism in the form of toxic excretions in their slime trail and in their spit. They are normally found along the southwestern coastlines and central regions of Daen (roughly speaking made up of Hyarroc and Daendroc), slowly moving forward in an endless quest for new food sources. The gastropod is extremely diverse, from their colour to the shape of their shell. It’s these shells as well as their poison that have driven the Grashobaig into rarity, and each product can be sold for a hefty price.
Deep Sea Giant Loptus
While the Oceans of Aloria have been barely explored, the Deep Sea Giant Loptus lurks in the depths of all of them. The Deep Sea Giant Loptus is a gigantic squid, using two large tentacles to move swiftly through the water by propelling itself forward in a spiral motion. For many years these leviathans have remained hidden, only shown in folklore throughout many cultures. Many seafarers claim they’ve spotted the creature, though the validity of this is tenuous, as the Deep Sea Giant Loptus are uncommon and few in number. The size of this creature has taken the interest of scholars, and its ferocious mentality has been adapted to folklore in some cultures.
Squiggs Octovin
Although it is one Aloria’s better known mollusks, the Squiggs Octovin is still widely regarded as one of the quirkiest creatures to live in the sea. It is odd-looking, decorates patches of the sea floor with underwater debris, and sprays clouds of ink at anything that is unfortunate enough to frighten the creature. It is found throughout the shallow seas of Corontium and along the Eastern shores of Daen, but nowhere else in the world. The Octovin is considered a meal by some, and a source of luxury ink by others. But, like all of Aloria’s mollusks, not a whole lot is known about the Octovin.
Redknob Octopus
The Redknobed Octopus is a medium-sized octopus with a long history in Hadaria. From the time of the Meraic, this mollusc has swam the waters of the region and is known to many races. Their last point of prominence was when the Essa Empire attempted to use their natural venom sacks as alchemical weapons of war. However, the dominance of the Imperial Fleet and rise of the Maiar in the Chrysant War saved the animal from this oceanic farming. They are also notable as a hermaphroditic species, taking on the roles of male and female only when they need to. Today they are once again common in the waters around Hadaria.

Haurmann
If there ever was a creature that deserved to die, it would be the Haurmann. Haurmann have no purpose in life other than to eat and annoy whomever they cross paths with. They resemble small walking eggs with horrific, almost balloon-like features on their faces, eyes that look like they could fall out of their sockets and crooked teeth that make one wonder how they can even consume anything. Haurmann are frequently the butt joke of comedy shows, and some particularly unentertaining bars or cafes have one behind the bar for cheap entertainment.

Nenya
Subject of many tales, myths, urban legends, and even religious fanaticism, the Nenya are an extinct species of sentient trees. These great Magus mysteries were thought to be taller than most Regalian buildings, and capable of walking—and even talking—with others. The Nenya have played an important role in Nelfin history; they are thought to have preceded the Elven Empire, and to have been magical emissaries of Estel herself. Unfortunately, the Nenya haven’t been seen since before the Cataclysm; during the Night of the Fallen Star, the Shendar ensured that the few remaining emissaries were driven into hiding, or further eradicated.
Temple Orphan
The Temple Orphan is the greatest horror which stalks Solangeria and is responsible for the vast majority of deaths among explorers who dare to venture into its deep jungles. Temple Orphans are relatively rare, but seek to draw intruders to them with their mimicry, especially those who enter Solangeria’s mysterious ruins. Various mythical tales as to their origin exist among various peoples who have made contact with them and survived. Temple Orphans carry their name because, while passive, they emit a whine which sounds eerily similar to a crying baby. As soon as their prey comes close enough, the sound stops, their head turns, and death follows shortly. It should be noted the Temple Orphans do not actually hunt their prey for sustenance; these creatures have never been witnessed to consume any of their victims or indeed any food at all. It simply kills for the sake of killing.
Wyvern
The Wyvern is a mysterious creature endemic to Ellador that serves as the primary mount of the Isldar Race. These winged animals were rendered extinct before the Cataclysm but were miraculously revived in 150 AC through some unknown means. The creatures have proven dangerous in combat against wild animals and other sentient Races who have tangled with the Isldar. Given the recent conflict in Ellador, some Velheim nations fear the day that great snowstorms will come bearing these creatures hiding inside them for more than just a scouting visit.
Bone Horror
Bone Horrors did not exist beyond the nightmares of the common folk until a year ago. While Undead do exist on Aloria, they are rarely as fast or as murderous as stories make them out to be. However, following the Battle of Adelaar Cliffs in the Regalia-Arloran War, the Bone Horror Crisis began. A worldwide event, it saw all rotting flesh and bones on several continents coalesce into creatures known as Bone Horrors. Filled with a mindless hatred for the living and even the Undead, these creatures did considerable damage to multiple nations and their people. An unknown magical event rendered them killable while simultaneously, Qadir mechanists crafted new weapons to defeat the monsters, turning the tide against them. Today, Bone Horrors still survive in pockets throughout the world, always on the move toward the living.
Dakkar
The Dakkar were, for nearly 300 years, the greatest threat and most dangerous form of life the Dwarves of Ellador had ever encountered. The Dakkar destroyed the great Dwarven Empire, but following their near-total victory, shattered into several splinter groups who proceeded to the surface with different goals. They emerged and were considered a Race by many, but in 306 AC, they all left the surface and those that remained were turned to stone. As a result, most believe them to have somehow been magical in origin, but despite the many questions, none dare to delve into the deep dark paths that lead to their homeland miles beneath the surface of Aloria.
Maiar
The Maiar are a unique species well known to the Regalian Empire as one of their allies in the Chrysant War. Fleeing the deep after the Slizzar used their ancient magic to awaken the Deep Sea Serpents, the Maiar now dwell much closer to the surface, and often live in warm waters though some tribes have ventured into colder regions. They are also well known for their physical diversity, caused by their unique “Evolutionary Physiology” that gives them the ability to rapidly adapt to their surroundings when compared to other races (taking as little as three years). While the species tetters on and off from being considered a full sentient race due to certain animalistic aspects remaining in their ideology and actions, most simply wait the day that these issues evolve out of the animal race and they are capable of joining society fully.
Zhirakh
The Zhirakh are a trio of horrifying, Human-sized bugs whose true origin in Asha mythology is lost. Thought to be the children of Demons, the creatures are said to seek out and singularly consume entire fields of crops by themselves, brutally defeating those who might try to protect their harvests from the hungering beasts. Stories also tell of their ability to fly across vast distances in search of food, and their utter hatred of the sun, so much so that their consumption is told to always occur in the night.
Sufiq
The Sufiq is an ancient, ethereal crane surrounded by the superstitions and traditions of the Asha, often hailed as the soul guide of those moving from one world to the other. Frequently depicted alongside the Sefakhem to guide their hands whilst they are blinded, this creature is steeped in rumour and intrigue passed on from generation to generation by both word of mouth and ancient texts. Whether this bird is truly alive or the result of superstition given physical form is a point of contention for many scholars, as some are so steeped in their secrecy surrounding the Blades of the Passed’s history that they simply cannot come to a proper conclusion.
